It’s comforting to see Mr Simm's olde sweet shop open in Hong Kong.

Any Brit is going to be delighted because this is a major sweet shop in the UK with a big range of sweets including Pear Drops, Curly Whirlies, Wham Bars, Fruit Salads, Rhubarb & Custards, Fudges, Toffees and yes... Terry's Chocolate Oranges.

Lovely bon bons in many flavours!

Montezuma’s Great British Pudding Bars: Lemon meringue, eton mess, summer pudding and treacle tart.

I used to get these sweets from the local newsagent because there wasn't one nearby.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see everyones reaction.

Hong Kong can be a disadvantage for sweets because the environment is HOT and HUMID which means they have to be stored in good conditions when the weather is like that.

However it amazes me that many stalls in Hong Kong have drinks and snacks including chocolate in the blazing hot sun and rain.

In the end I my favourite bon bons and sherbet pips.



I got so many flavours for the bon bon: apple, strawberry and caramel.
They were chewy and soft with a slightly creamy taste.
The sherbet pips had a crunchy exterior with a loose sherbet center.
While I was there I tried black death and that was REALLY SOUR but I loved it because I love acidic sweets!

Anyway, they definitely cost more over here but they're worth it!

After the launch of the Batman burger and Superman burger, they have now launched the Green Lantern burger.

The last launch was a bit lame because they have paired the Green Lantern with Flash, there is no new drink except for the soup which does not come in any specially designed bowl.

Green Lantern burger :
Basically it was a potato (hash brown) and beef.
Inside, there was bacon, hash brown, beef patty, honey mustard sauce and sweet black pepper sauce.

Depending how much sauce will affect how sweet the burger is going to be.
I found it really messy to eat and there was no wow factor because it was just a breakfast burger with a beef patty added.

These were Potato wedges which were the usual ones with a flavoured coating and a fluffy centre.

Tried some of the dim sum dishes and they were amazing especially the Scallion pancakes.

The pancakes were thin but they were crispy and tasted amazing with a hint of pepper.
It was really interesting because there was no meat in this yet it had a prawny taste.
Anyway, I am definitely ordering ths again.

These were fried egg whites filled with delicious custard which had egg yolks in it that gave it a lovely starchy texture.

Discovered a new branch of A-1 Bakery so took a look.
The Sweet purple potato cream puff looked delicious so decided to get one.

Sweet purple potato puff:
The puff fared better because the cream was good and unsweetened and the sweet potato puree was velvety and tasted natrual.
The weird thing that ruined it was the chocolate sponge cake in the middle because cream puffs are not meant to have cake in the middle!

Tried this cake from Saint Honore which was only $24.
The thing on the side was marshmallow but the colour was really artificial.
It was light white chocolate mousse on the outside coated with dessicated coconut filled with tart berries.
Overall it was a cheap and tasty cake.

Tried the new Christmas cake because it had my favourite combination of apple and cinnamon.

Abies (Apple Cinnamon Mousse Cake):

It was delicious with light apple mousse on the outside and in the middle it had pieces of crisp apples in a light cinnamon sauce.

The base tasted like coffee even though it was chocolate but it was good because it was not too sweet which is the beauty of Dolci 2/3.

Went here for dinner because the place was quite cute.
There is a cabinet that displays the food they serve.

Basically you pay at the counter and wait for the dishes to be brought over.

The fusilli was piping hot covered in bolognaise sauce.
The sauce was quite meaty with gooey cheese in the middle and the fusilli hung the sauce well which made it really tasty.

The pasta was soft and creamy with lovely clams on top.

The sausages looked like chipolatas which tasted nice because it was packed with herbs and the fries were perfectly done.

The tea was quite surprising because I was expecting literally fizzy oolong tea but it was much nicer than that.
It was amazing that there was no sugar in it except the vanilla icecream which was the key to the flavour when you mix the drink.
At the bottom there was golden oolong jelly.
