After a great dinner, we just had to have dessert to complete the evening.
As I don't like Chinese desserts, MKK suggested this place and it turns out the desserts were brilliant.

I loved the decor and the upstairs was nice too.

Before we went in, there were some beautiful dessert pot plants in the cabinet.

There are three flavours: strawberry mousse, tiramisu and mango.

We had the tiramisu which was the best I have ever tasted.
Not only did it taste good but the presentation was good because it had a real flower that was pretty.

The tiramisu was divine because the cream was lightly whipped and the sponge cake was soaked heavily in alcohol.
The soil was creative because they did not use oreo cookies which most restaurants use.

We also had the chocolate pancakes which had layers and layers of thin chocolate pancake with cream in the middle.

I will definitely be back if I am in the area again.

Shika is an interesting restaurant, they serve Omakase and Teppan-Yaki.
For Teppan-Yaki, there is a Teppan-Yaki area.
That night I tried the Omakase.
There was a huge cabinet full of seafood.
The menu was really classy with gold and silver specks on it.
There were two Omakase sets to choose from: Shika $988 or Iki $818.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Shika $988:
Appetizer, 6 kinds of sashimi, steamed/stewed dish, grilled dish, 5 pieces of assorted sushi, soup and dessert
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Iki $818:
Appetizer, 5 kinds of sashimi, fried dish, grilled dish, 5 pieces of assorted sushi, soup and dessert
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Went for the Iki as I wasn't hungry that day.
Started with the appetizer which was salmon, octopus and fried fish.
The salmon was poached nicely and the fried fish was appetizing.
After that we had the sashimi which was fresh with a lot of variety.

Five kinds of sashimi:

The scallops were sweet and fragrant dusted with yuzu powder.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fried dish:
The tempura was light and crispy with a good mix of vegetables and seafood.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Grilled dishes:
Then came the abalone which was sweet and tender.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
5 kinds sushi
As well as great sashimi, the sushi was even better.
I loved the tuna with grated ginger on top.
Then there was botan prawn with prawn roe on top.

The minced fatty tuna and sweet prawn was also good.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
soup:
The soup was impressive because it was not the usual boring miso soup.
It was delicious milky fish soup.

After all that I was full and it was time for dessert!
The tofu icecream was a good to the meal because it was light and not too sweet.

This joint serves chilled snacks which is a local haunt, whoever goes past is bound to queue up for a skewer.
As the queue is long, I have never bothered because I know that by time I get to the counter I don't know what I want because you don't have the menu in view until you get close to it.

There were only five people in the queue that day so I decided to give them a go.
Within a flash I was at the counter but I didn't really know what I wanted.
After quickly scouring the cabinet I wanted the octopus, small intestines and the turkey gizzards.

Luckily, they had a set which had all three.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Trio:
In the set, there was turkey gizzard, octopus and small intestines.
The sauces they put on it were mustard and Chinese sweet sauce which went surprisingly well together with the mustard sauce giving it that lovely sharp kick.
Overall I liked the octopus because it was springy and tender.
I didn't really like the chicken gizzard because it was too springy and crisp.
The small intestines were ok but not the best.

[Review 3683] Softserve with a *sparkle* @ Honey Sparkling Desserts House

Honey Sparkling Desserts House
旺角廣華街2號8號舖
Shop 8, 2 Kwong Wah Street, Mong Kok
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/softserve-with-a-sparkle-e2406787

As I was in the area, stopped by for some softserve.
This place was opened a while ago but I wasn't motivated in trying because I don't like honeycomb.

Since softserve and honeycomb have become really popular, I decided to try it because this place and Honey Granny were the earlier trendsetters before the later ones such as Softree, Honey Creme and all that!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lazy holiday:
I did take a photo but it must have got deleted!!!
It was basically softserve with their homemade lemon sauce and a small piece of honeycomb.
I chose this one because of the homemade lemon sauce and I was glad I chose this because the lemon sauce was decent, it had lemon peel in it which made it taste bitter so at least it was memorable and stands out from other lemons sauces.
It was also quite sour so the pairing of softserve and lemon was refreshing while the honey added some sweetness to it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea waffle:
The waffle was free because they are now giving away waffles when you get a softserve.
There are four flavours: original, rose, chocolate and green tea.
I chose the green tea which had a light green tea flavour without being tooo sweet, the waffle was mildly dense and crispy on the outside.

Before I went in, there were so many desserteries nearby so competition is tough.
I have already tried Next Station so went here.

The place was relaxing and comfortable.
There were stylish things here and there.

Huge mug!!

Here was what we had.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea rolls:

I loved the green tea sheets which were rolled with cream and red beans inside.
The texture was like firm jelly with a fragrant green tea taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Uji matcha iceberg:

This was a lovely scoop of green tea icecream on a bed of red beans topped with egg white souffle on top.
I loved the souffle and icecream.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chocolate fondue:
The chocolate fondue is probably the best dessert fondue I have had because they have paired it with the right fruits.
In Hong Kong, some places don't serve it right because they give you Asian fruits such as melon and other weird items which don't go with chocolate.

Both the strawberries and bananas were delicious dipped in hot chocolate.

The portion was really good too, there was quite a fair bit of strawberries and bananas.
