Had a carbs craving again so went here for the Hawaiian sashimi bowl.

This time I had the shoyu ginger and the cubes of tuna were mixed in lots of soya sauce which was perfect with rice.

As well as that I had the spam musubi and it was so good that I had two.

The first one I had was not that firm so it didn't hold together well.

The second one was much better and did not change shape when I took a bite into it.

The spam was addictive because the saltiness of the spam was just right and the egg in the middle made it extremely filling.

To be honest I was actually going to another restaurant on the same street but for some strange reason I came here instead.
Ordered the beef tendon ramen because you don't often find beef tendon ramen.
The broth was nice and thick with a slight stickiness to it but there was not much beef tendon in it.
Overall it was a bowl of satisfactory ramen but it wasn't really memorable.

My colleague was sent a tin of cookies by one of his clients so I got to eat them as well.
Apparently they are worth $238 and they come in a nice tin in a festive red bag.
In the tin, there are 5 chocolates with a sheep, Chinese gold coin and a peach blossom tree.
The flavours were Almond, Strawberry Marble, Chocolate Almond, Coffee Chocolate, Cranberry, Flax Seed, Blueberry and Original.
It was great fun sharing these cookies which were crumbly and delicious with a buttery scent.

After having the cheese and ham brioche I was craving for cheese again so I attended the cheese fondue class ($650 for two ppl) where you get to eat cheese fondue as well as learn how to make it!

I was surprised to learn that the ingredients were simple, it was cheese, starch, white wine, Kirsche, black pepper, paprika and garlic.
NOTE THERE IS NO MILK IN THE RECIPE however local restaurants put milk in the fondue because they think milky is cheesy!!!
Err I don't think so somehow!
We started off with a plate of appetizers of air dried beef and bayonne ham accompanied by pickles to balance the waxyness of the meats.
After we finished the appetizer, the Chef demonstrated how to make the fondue!
It was simpler than I thought.
I have skipped the steps here but it is pretty easy.
Anyway, the fondue was finally ready to eat and it was divine dipping soft bread into the piping hot melted cheese.
The cheese was moreish because the acidity of the white wine decreased its heaviness.
There were three breads available: Brioche, white bread and walnut and rye.
The white bread and walnut and rye were good for dipping because it was soft with a good yeast taste but the brioche was a bit too heavy for the fondue because it was buttery.

After finishing the fondue we had the apple tart for dessert which was a sweet ending.
As well as the fondue classes, they also sell fondue packs for $200 which includes all the ingredients, fondue forks, burners and sufficient wine for the fondue experience.

Had a pre-Chinese new year gathering at Fu Ho Restaurant.
To be honest I have not been there before but the menu looked really good and apparently it is famous for abalones.
Here was what we had

Started off with the four surprises: Prawn stuffed with mashed taro, Deep-fried white-bait fish with Spicy Salt, sliced stomach in black bean sauce, Pan-fried squid with Shrimp Paste.
The prawns stuffed with taro reminded me of taro puffs but the taro mash was quite dense and rich.

The crispy whitebait was flawless, they had a delicate light crispy batter while the whitebait was silky and soft in the middle.

Next we had the squid which was paired with shrimp paste.
The shrimp paste was strong and pungent so you are going to like it or hate it.

The last platter was stomach slices in black bean sauce which had a texture like squid and the black bean sauce was a good strong flavour to give it some flavour.

The abalone was sweet with a strong unami taste and the duck's feet was soft and gelatinous.

This was the star of the meal because I love bird's nest and there was so much beneath the pumpkin cream.
The pumpkin cream was really tasty which went well with the delicate bird's nests that had a gentle flavour.

Lemon chicken:

Then came the lemon chicken which everyone is bound to like, it was good the sauce was served separately so that the chicken is still crispy and you can decide how much sauce you want.
It was tender chicken with a crispy coating
After adding the sauce the chicken was amazing because the lemon sauce gave it a sweet touch without being too sweet or acidic.

These were oysters in batter and oysters that were grilled.
The ones in batter had a juicy bursting center while the grilled ones were firm and tasted like semi dried oysters.
