On my last visit, the Earl grey pistachio was sold out so I got this other icelolly which wasn't very impressive.
They had it this time but I decided not to try it because there was not much pistachio nuts if you compare it to icelicious where the icelolly is loaded with ingredients.

Anyway, I got the Purple harvest which is snowflake ice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Purple harvest:
The purple harvest is snowflake ice topped with purple potato dust garnished with a sprig of mint.
The dessert was not bad but not my cup of tea because I don’t like granola.

There were mochi dumplings and pieces of sweet potato in it but the sweet potato puree does not taste as good as the one nearby.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
I hope to go again for the icelollies because there are some new flavours such as tomato gazpacho.

Traditional dumplings are made with glutinous rice and wrapped in plant leaves but now there are some modern ones called Ice dumplings because they have a clear translucent exterior and they are eaten cold.
There are quite a few flavours at ABR but there were only three I wanted to try which were purple sweet potato, apple and brown sugar.
They only had the purple one so I got that for $28.

The packaging was cute, you just peel off the lid and eat.
The dumpling exterior was very chewy and the purple potato puree was too sweet and tasted artificial so I think I will probably just buy the apple to try next.

[Review 4386] Long seafood brunch @ Holy Crab Bar and Restaurant

Usually brunches finish around 3pm and by the time you get up, you end up missing brunch because it is 3pm by the time you get there.
Here it finishes at 5 so you have plenty of time to enjoy a seafood brunch.

At the entrance, there is live seafood with a pricelist and other items for sale such as Nuclear sauce.
There is a la carte brunch or the bottomless seafood bucket for $418.

I went for the seafood bucket where you get to choose two courses followed by the seafood.

If you are looking for Southern comforts you should try evenings because they have fried okra salad, watermelon consomme, Jambalaya and other dishes which I plan to try later.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
For the first course, we chose all three.
====================
Southern swimmer benedict:
American homemade herb breakfast cake topped with Alaskan salmon, southern style hollandaise and salmon roe.

====================
Southern love on a plate:
Homemade sausage patty with scrambled eggs on a buttermilk biscuit smothered in Southern style gravy.

====================
Crab and meat benedict:
American homemade Andouille and blue crab breakfast cake, topped with grilled sausage and poached egg in southern style hollandaise sauce.

====================
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
The second course was simpler, it was either caesar salad or fruits.

The fruits were rather sweet but there was tart yoghurt to balance it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Finally it was seafood which comes with five sauces: cocktail, tartar, honey mustard, Cajun mayonnaise and Sweet chili sauce.

To be honest, the broth at the bottom of the bucket tasted really nice when you dipped the seafood into it.
They give you aprons just like they do in America.
Prawns were huge. Lobsters were springy and the crabs were fresh.
All of the above were bottomless.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
There is a similar place that serves seafood in a bag in Hong Kong but there are more authentic Southern choices here.

[Review 4385] Expensive Miyazaki rolls @ 東海堂 Arome Bakery

Walked past and these rolls looked good so got the small Miyazaki chocolate roll for $69 which is bloody expensive at that size so you’re probably better off getting the big one for $128.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Miyazaki Chocolate Roll Cake:
The chocolate filling was rather bitter and the roll didn’t impress because the taste was a bit boring.
There is a label that says the cake is made with Miyazaki eggs but sadly I can't taste any difference between this and their other rolls.

[Review 4384] Delicious congee with consistency @ 天將麵包

I can't believe I have been here so many times for their congee because it is consistently delicious.

There seems to be two flavours: salted egg and sweetcorn with pork or preserved egg with pork.

The first time I tried the salted egg congee and it was so damn delicious because the pork which I normally throw away was pink, fresh and soft with a delicious lightly salted taste.
Needless to say the congee was also tasty.
On the second visit, I was craving for that congee again but they had a different one so I was a bit skeptical as I wasn't sure if it would taste ok as well.
But the preserved egg congee was also good and I liked this one more than the salted egg because it was even more tasty with a preserved egg flavour infused in the congee.
Ever since I have been coming back for the congee.
Recently I tried their ricerolls and they were damn good as well because the texture is chewy with the right softness and they don't pour smelly oil over it.
The ricerolls are nice and taut so they don't unravel themselves when they are drenched in sauce.

[Review 4383] Casa Lisboa in Hong Kong @ Casa Lisboa Portuguese Restaurant & Bar

When I first heard of this place I associated it with Macau but Casa Lisboa has been in HK for a while according to the reviews.
It is nice to be able to eat good Portuguese food without going to Macau.

We had a lot of fish which was nice and here was what we had:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Traditional creamy bacalhau:
 0 讚好

Tasted like fish pie with parsley so I really loved it because it was creamy and the fish was silky without being too salty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
“Santos populares” style baby sardines:
 0 讚好

The baby sardines were delicate and soft with edible bones.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Classic codfish cakes:

These codfish cakes were delicious because there was quite a far bit of cod in it.
Brits will love this because it tastes like a good fishcake!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Poached atlantic cod with roasted tomato and herbs:
 0 讚好

The fish was chunky and flakey covered in rich tomato sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Traditional roasted suckling pig:

The roast suckling pig was soft as expected but a little too dry for my liking.
For big groups, you can order a whole pig but for smaller groups you can order the smaller portion of four pieces.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Baked portuguese duck rice old style:

This was my first experience of real portuguese rice which looks nothing like the HongKongized ones covered in weird coloured sauce.
The grains of rice are crispy and al-dente flavoured with duck and there are tasty pieces of duck shreds in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Traditional seafood “cataplana”:

Seafood lovers will love this but I wish there was more sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Iberico pork tenderloin and mushroom rice:

I loved the rice because it was in a tasty mushroom gravy and it was like a fusion of risotto and rice in broth.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Portuguese tart:

Although it was quite sweet, I liked the hint of lemon in it.
Normally Portuguese people have this with black coffee to balance the sweetness.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Tigelada, portuguese egg pudding with icecream:

I loved this because there was a strong cinnamon taste.
When you cut it in half, there are lots of capillaries which look like a crumpet, however the texture is much softer and soggy compared to a crumpet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Casa lisboa apple and raisin sablee with vanilla icecream:

This was a delicate two layered flaky pastry with apple that was soaked in port wine and raisins in between and a top layer of silky egg white that was not too sweet.
