This vegetarian place used to be in Wan Chai but they have now moved right to the heart of Central/Sheung Wan.

I love the new place because it just fits there surrounded by people who are health conscious.

There were samples to try:

Went after work so there were quite a lot of things sold out so tried the portobello burger and Eggless frittata with tomato sauce.

Mushroom lovers will love the portobello because it is two big portobellos mushrooms mimicking the bun sandwiched with lettuce, tomato and sauce in the middle.

There are two sauces for the burger and I chose the truffle cashew cheese sauce which doesn’t contain any milk and it tastes so cheesy so I just loved the burger.

There was a sample of the eggless frittata that is mixed with tofu and surrounded in a delicious herby tomato sauce spiced with fragrant cumin.

At Maya, the food is always flavourful and the menu has improved.

I managed to get some truffle cashew cheese sauce and it tastes great with bread!

Decided to treat myself with a chocolate mousse and it tasted divine, it was so silky and melts in your mouth with a hint of coconut.

I also got the cherry drink which was fizzy but it tasted a bit like fizzy tomato juice!
There is some text in the inner surface of the bottle.

At first I got this confused with the Katong in Wanchai, but this place has nothing to do with that branch.

Had a quick dinner and had the following:

Roti with curry sauce:

The roti could have been better because it was dense and not flaky, but the curry sauce was good and quite salty.

Tiger prawn vermicelli pot:


I expected a nice smell when the lid was taken off but there wasn't and the vermicelli was evidently too moist with a strong garlic taste.

The stingray was the best but if you like sambal sauce you will be disappointed because it was not strong enough.

Went here because no one was dining there.
Their signature dish is the curry but it was watery and there were too many sharp and hard herbs in the curry which were annoying when you ate because you had to spit them out.

The chili-poached fish was really nice because the fish was extremely silky and not too spicy but the tofu puffs beneath were really spicy because it soaked up all the sauce.

There are about 4-5 pieces of fish in the bowl and beneath the fish are chunky pieces of vegetables and tofu puffs.
As for the rice, it was a bit too soft and mushy and it was Japanese rice which I don’t like.

Lunch sets don’t come with soup or drink but luckily the fish I had tasted good.
I ended up getting the drink which was barley and wintermelon for $10 but it was too sweet for my liking.

Discovered this place after visiting the new bowling place.

Noticed it was a vegetarian joint so went.

The menu had snacks and drinks but it didn't have a price so I asked how much and she said feel free to donate which I did.

They also sell vegetarian items as well and they are trying to convey the message Love the environment, love life and be a vegetarian.

I liked the cookies which were not too sweet and because they were vegetarian, they did not have that weird buttery taste.

The wheat rolls tasted like pork scratchings.

For drinks I had the pineapple and peach tea which had a nice tart aftertaste.

Also tried some other snacks which were nice and crispy.

They were impressive because they were cooked by an airfryer so no oil was used!

There is a bottle of lucky stars and each one has a message.

I don't eat Yunnan rice noodles so I obviously went here for the goat.
After I ordered I saw a faint piece of paper with other noodle options such as instant noodles but it was too late.
Anyway, I just ate the goat which was nice and soft.

I wanted to order the goats tail but according to the comments, this was served cold so I didn't fancy it.
Huge portions but unfortunately I just don't like these weird elastic noodles.

On the way out, there are the some napkins by the door.

Walked past and this straw hut caught my attention especially the lemon stand.
I got the fresh lemonade which was fresh lemon, carbonated water, syrup and mint.
The drink was really refreshing with a strong fizz and natrual lemon taste.
However I was gutted I didn't see them sell braised pomelo skin or I would have got it as well.

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and got addicted, then I went for the lunch buffet but unfortunately they had a groupon promotion so there were too many people there.

I was given this by a guy nearby so decided to order it.
For $38 I got to try the momos, beaten rice and chicken tikka.

The highlight was the beaten rice which is flattened rice that is crispy. It was different and interesting eating crispy flakes of flat rice.
The momo was basically juicy dumplings filled with chicken and the chicken tikka was tasty.

egg fried rice:

The egg fried rice was delicious because each grain of rice was distinct and flavoured. The bits of egg were fragrant and delicate with a tad of MSG that made it delicious but not abused.
Although it was good, I am pretty sure the person who cooked it is different to the chef on the first visit.

Masala omelette:

Basically this was a jazzed up omelette with coriander, spices and juicy sweet bell peppers.

This was scrambled eggs with onions, tomato and spices but the tomato taste is not as strong as it looks but the egg was delicious with the finely chopped onions that gave it a crisp texture.
