I don’t really go pubbing so didn’t know that this was a new dutch bar.
We went past in March so I just took a photo of the food menu.
Came here a month later and the menu is slightly different and the SAME FOOD has gone up by $20-$40!!

-Mixed snacks from $68 to $109
-Bitterballen from $68 to $89
-chicken wings from $68 to $89
-French fries from $38 to $58

There was a new item so I tried that.
Kaas Soufle:

These are dutch pancakes but not the type we normally see and they tasted exactly and looked similar to Findus Crispy Pancakes that were sold in the UK which are breaded crispy pancakes with a delicious cheesy creamy filling but again they are from Europe so they don’t look like pancakes.
The staff there were quite nice but as I don’t go to pubs often I don’t know how to rate it and talk about bar etiquette because obviously I was there for food

[Review 5184] Best of the Scottish brewery @ BrewDog Hong Kong

Walked past and the bright luminescence lights got my attention.
They had food so my eyes went straight to the dessert section on the menu because the desserts were so British.

Anyway, ordered the maple glazed sour cream donut holes which were delicious as expected.
Sour cream donuts are basically donut batter mixed with sour cream and it had a pretzel like texture but slightly softer in the middle with a chewy exterior coated with sweet maple.
I will come back for the other desserts.
They have so many different types of beers and the ones in the fridge are stylish!
After chatting to a patron upstairs, I was told that BrewDog is from Scotland so when I go back to the UK, I will try the one in London and see how it compares.

This restaurant has a FB page which is for reference only because they don't even get back to you if you message them for a menu.
I also tried to phone them for a menu but they managed to lose my number because the second time I phoned, they said they lost it.
Anyway. decided to go there anyway.
I had the chicken in three cups sauce which was evidently from a big stew because the it was not made to order and the basil fragrance was not there even though you can see lots of it.
The whole thing tasted like it had been stewed overnight

There were side dishes included but they were tasteless because it was just plain boiled black fungas and cherry tomatoes.
Although it was a big portion, I would rather have a smaller main course that tastes good.

Walked past and discovered this place which reminded me of this really good burger place called Toppings that closed down.
They had the cuttlefish burger which toppings used to have.
I was contemplating whether to get the veggie burger or the cuttlefish, in the end I went for the cuttlefish.
It was really good they didn't put the bun on top so that you could see the patty and sauce.
Unfortunately, the cuttlefish burger was ruined because you could only taste that charred metallic taste and not the delicate cuttlefish flavour.

The cuttlefish patty was exactly the same as the one at Toppings because it had sweetcorn in it or perhaps it is just the Chinese cuttlefish patty served as a burger.
The mustard sauce on the table was not even mustard sauce, it was some weird sweet sauce.
As for the drinks, they used to have Earl Grey but they don't offer it now.

It is sad seeing them serve rice dishes to cater for locals.

[Review 5181] les fleurs des glace @ Givrés

Basically icecream in a shape of a rose!
It costs $46 for one flavour so it is quite expensive and the portion is slightly less can a scoop of icecream.
I had the pistachio which was quite because it was not too sweet and the wafer cone was good even though it is inexpensive compared to the waffle cones.
It was surprising that they had Victoria sponge cakes because Givrés seemingly sounds French.
Anyway, I like Victoria sponge cakes and they were huge slices!

Haven't been to ocean park for years so decided to pay it a visit.
Everything has changed.

First stop was FOOD at Neptune’s Restaurant.
There is a brilliant panoramic view of the Grand Aquarium with lots of sharks, stingrays, turtles and more.
As the Monopoly-themed Afternoon Tea Set is running until the 17th of April, I decided to try it which is sufficient for two.

There was Lobster with Egg Mayo Sandwich, Ham and Cheese Sandwich, Sustainable Smoked Salmon and Abalone Quiche, Sausage Rolls, Mango Mousse Cake, American Cheesecake, assorted cookies, chocolate dice served with freshly brewed coffee or tea.

I really liked the sandwiches and the quiche was interesting because they put abalone in it which took it to the next level.

My friend had the 4-course showcase which were small portions of of the new signature dishes.

The set had salad of Gravlax Salmon with Mustard Seed; Lobster Bisque, and a main course combo of Salmon Fillet, Stir-fried Australian Tiger Prawns with Spicy Garlic Salt and Crispy Rice in “Shelter Bay” Style and Signature Fried Rice with Abalone, Lobster & Scallop; Almond Mocha Éclair with freshly-brewed coffee or tea to finish.

The salmon was delicate and flakey, while the prawn was tasty with bold spicy flavours.
For dessert the eclair had a nice coffee taste which rounded up nicely with the coffee.

[Review 5179] Coconut water icelolly @ Ice' Licious

Since my last visit, there is so much more variety and they have got themselves an award from a local Chinese mag.
I went there especially for the fruits in coconut water because I love coconut water.
It was a bit difficult to eat because the frozen fruit slices were hard as rock so it might be better if they were in smaller slices or chunks but it wouldn't look as pretty.
The icelolly tasted really natural but the coconut water turned out a bit bland because the fruits had a strong taste especially the kiwi and best left out.
I think plain pineapple and coconut water would taste good.
