A colleague that was leaving treated us to this milk pudding.
It was thick and creamy with a strong milk taste and it was not sweet at all which is good for people who are diabetic

[Review 5195] Revisiting New Bashu Taste for the fish head @ 新巴蜀風 New Bashu Taste

After trying the steamed fish head with red and green chilis, I loved it so much that I had to go again.
Planned to go after the Chinese New Year but they were closed.
Finally went and just ordered the steamed fish head and rice.
From the previous experience, the baked rice was too dry so I asked for the rice from the ricecooker.
When the fish arrived, I scooped away the chillies because it can get quite spicy.
I ate it skillfully, removing the bones piece by piece.
The fish was just silky and delicious with so much gelatin and it isn't really spicy unless you dip it in the broth.
Although I just had one dish, I was really content but next time I think I will go alone and have the fish to myself

[Review 5194] White chocolate and mint mousse cake @ Express Bar by Lassana

After seeing the previous review, I decided to try the white chocolate and mint mousse cake because white chocolate and mint make an interesting pairing.
You would have never guessed this romantic red cake would be white chocolate mousse inside.
The cake is covered by a thin layer of white chocolate and in the middle there is delicious tart berry sauce that balances the sweetness of the mousse.

[Review 5193] Raw carrot cake @ Maya Cafe Mediterranean Lifestyle

Stopped by for a cake because I was in the area.
Had the carrot cake because it was raw. It was moist with lots of grated carrots and fragrant cinnamon taste.
Also had the zucchini soup which was tasty and peppery.
Coming back soon for more filling dishes because this place is much more convenient than Wan Chai.

[Review 5192] FATE @ 裕興咖啡 Yue Hing

I have always wanted to try this place but they don't open on weekends and public holidays which makes it difficult.
They open bloody early and close bloody early like 1pm so it is really for people working in Central.
There is no number to call so going there is risky and the food might be sold out.
Attempted visit: 26/7/2013 Time:10am
Once I got there during their opening hours and there was a notice saying the guy broke his arm.
Another time it was open and I was standing right there but couldn't stop by to eat because we were filming something.
Finally made it on a fateful day and had the noodles and toasted sandwich.
I know it is too much food for one person but I doubt that I can make it here for breakfast again.
The lady didn't was against me ordering two items because she didn't think I could finish it.
The toast was really good, it had ham, cabbage and peanut sauce which strangely tastes good together.
I didn't see luncheon ham on the English menu or I would have ordered that.
The drinks were the usual choice but their Hong Kong style tea is more pleasant than others but having more than half a glass was already too much for me.
The lady here was really nice.

[Review 5191] Portobello burger @ 麥當勞 McDonald's

Shop 28, L2 , Festival Walk, 80 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/portobello-burger-e2569435
When the DIY burgers were first launched, there were not much options for vegetarians and ordering it without the beef patty would cost the same.
Later they added pumpkin and asparagus to the menu and now they have Portobello mushrooms which is more substantial if you are on a vegetarian diet.
Unfortunately, it tasted like canned/boiled mushrooms because it was soggy and they didn't grill it.
There was also lots of black pepper on the Portobello mushroom which ruined it.
The grilled champignons were a waste of money as well.
Also had these freshly fried crisps which just tasted like crisps with a little warmth to it.

[Review 5190] Pulled chicken burger by Gabriel Choy - McDonald's @ 麥當勞 McDonald's

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/pulled-chicken-burger-by-gabriel-choy-mcdonalds-e2569419
Tried the new Pulled chicken burger, which is dubbed as American pulled chicken burger in Chinese.
Pulled chicken or pulled pork is actually Southern American cuisine, which is served with coleslaw and smoky bbq sauce or chipotle sauce.
It is interesting that Gabriel Choy has used Tandoori sauce which is not American and the fried onion rings which reminds me of Indian food with onion bharjis.
Anyway, the product shot shows one huge onion ring but there are two in the burgers.
The onion rings and slice of cheese were not really needed because the pulled chicken and cabbage slaw were tasty without them.
The chicken was soft and tender and the taste was similar to Coronation chicken which is creamy and sweet unlike Tandoori.
I also paid extra for the thick cut fries which were disappointing because I ate them there and the fries have only traveled a few metres from the counter and they were cold and soft like they have been in a bag and taken home.
LOOKING FORWARD TO MJHK'S COMMENTS!
