Came here a while ago for buffet.
In those days, it was called The Langham hotel but now it is called THE CORDIS.

Went there and they had a Korean themed buffet.

As well as the Korean delights, they had the usual seafood, curries, cheeses, sushi and more.

pon da ring inspired chocolate mousse cake:

White sesame pebble cake:

Coconut sago and mango:

Started off the buffet with leaf tea.

Then we had freshly opened oysters.

The congee was sweet and tasty with fresh crab.

Next I had the cheesy miso lobster and foie gras paired with fruit jams.

For mains, I got my favourite curries and potatoes.
The potatoes were really good because they were soft and well flavoured.


Tried the Korean ginseng and chicken soup which had a strong ginseng taste that had a bitter touch to it.

Desserts:


The white sesame pebble was quite an unusual dessert which has a strong white sesame taste.

The chocolate mousse cake was my favourite because the chocolate mousse was silky and smooth.

Went here twice and the poutine was totally inconsistent!
Poutine is fries topped with cheese curds and gravy.

The first visit on the 23rd of April, the poutine looked like this.
There wasn't much gravy but there were some cheese curds.

The second visit on the 7th May, the cheese was totally different.
I couldn't see any gravy but it turns out the gravy was at the bottom and it was like water as shown on the video.
After complaining that the gravy was too watery, I was given this. I don't think they understood that I was complaining about the watery gravy because they gave me extra cheese.

As well as the poor gravy the grilled cheese was a total failure because the bread was stupid sweet local bread and the cheese did not taste sharp as stated on the menu.
The cheese in the poutine tasted better than the cheese in the grilled cheese toast.
