Issaya Siamese Club is a great place to go for lunch because they serve Thai food in a modern Western environment.

The lunch deal is good because the starters and dessert are buffet style with a choice of mains from the menu.

The starter was amazing and the choice was different because they had some really local Thai ingredients such as Banana stem leaves and other goodies.

There are two soups, one with meat and one vegetarian to cater for vegetarians.


I am not a vegetarian but I liked the vegetarian one more.


Prices are different according to the mains you choose.
The lobster had a fluffy baked egg topping and the lobster was fresh and springy.

The yellow curry was quite sweet and the colour was a bit dark compared to other yellow curries.
It came with pickled watermelon which was quite refreshing.

The beef curry was really good because the beef cheeks were soft and gelatinous.

Both curries were paired with mushroom rice which was really healthy as it contained barley and red rice.

Desserts were annoyingly good but my favourite was the icecream and the green glutinous rice flakes.



The Thai tea macarons had a really strong tea taste.

For drinks I had the pandan cooler with elderflower.

There was a cute fish swimming in it.

I love this place because the dishes are relatively healthy and cleaner compared to other restaurants.
Started with the marinated platter which had duck wings, cuttlefish slices and tofu.
Then we had this delicious crispy pancake made with silky whitebait and finely shredded pumpkin.
We had this beautiful chicken and vegetable soup which was thick and nourishing because it was made with blended vegetables and lean chicken.
Then we had this traditional dish of stir fried chicken pieces and crispy leaves.
The steamed fish was interesting because it had aubergines beneath it which soaked the delicious sauce.
The pot was my favourite because it had pickled vegetables and soft bittermelon.
As a filler, we had the ginger fried rice which was nicely done without any greasiness.

It has been ages since my last visit but as I was in the area I stopped by for dessert.
At the front of the shop, they have tea and a chocolate fountain.

On the 26th of May, it is Heart's Dessert third anniversary hence desserts will be $1.
For further details read the Chinese because I don't know what it says.


As a durian fan, I got the durian coconut pudding.

It was topped with fresh durian puree on top and beneath it was delicious coconut jelly made with coconut water.



They also do a glass version which is the same so I tried the caramel pudding.


I added some extra peach tree gum jelly but it was a bit too sweet as they put sugar in it.
The texture was different to ones I have tried before because it was stickier more gelatinous.

Went here for a casual lunch because I was visiting friends in TKO.
There is another branch in Hang Hau but this one is more spacious.

Had the Masala beef and lamb curry, both were strong but not spicy with a sweet aftertaste.

The Hainan chicken lacked aroma and the rice was bland.

The chicken feet were tasty but the MSG was a bit strong.

Food was ok here but I hate the apple flavoured compulsory tea which is not free.

The catfish was good but not spicy compared to Sichuan places and the fish was delicious but I seem to be allergic to catfish because I had this twice and vomitted afterwards.
The oysters in liquor were disappointing because the batter was soggy and the sauce was too sweet for my liking.

Since they opened last year, I have always wanted to try it.
Burger Joys location has quite an advantage because it is located next to some busy pubs that attracts late night diners and in the daytime it is an option for offices nearby.

Finally went to try it out.
Before I went, I researched on the burgers they had on social media and decided to get the fish burger, cheese and mushroom burger, cajun fries, American breakfast and a float!

Chocolate float:
The drink was a good start because you pour the coke in yourself.

I like to pour a little in at first so that the float becomes thick with a strong chocolate taste.

They had truffle fries as well but I prefer cajun because I just like Cajun!~!~

cheese and mushroom burger with extra Maytag Blue cheese:

There are two vegetarian burgers and this one seemed better because the patty was made with five different mushrooms and mixed with tater tots which is then frozen and grilled to order.
Each bite was delicious and the lettuce, tomatoes, guerkins and purple onions all blended in nicely and the extra Maytag Blue cheese I opted gave it an amazing cheesy punch.

fish burger:

Ordered the fish burger because I saw photos of lovely flaky fish and they use Japanese bread crumbs which is much lighter and crispier.

American breakfast:

They also do breakfast so I had that as well.
(I put the bacon and egg in my mushroom burger and made it into a super burger.)

The fried egg came with a face which was quite cool.

This joint is really good so I hope they open another branch in Central/Sheung Wan.
It is reassuring that the team behind this joint is American hence the yummy burgers.
Previously Burger Joys made me think of Jolibee because they have this set called chicken joys.
