More noodle choices

Since my last visit, there are more noodle options and toppings!
Unfortunately, they ran out of the seaweed noodles.
Anyway, I had noodles in curry sauce which was a new item and I chose Japanese buckwheat noodles with Korean instant noodles.
It was a nice change having noodles in curry as not many modern noodle joints offer this.

For the toppings I had Japanese tofu, luncheon ham, purple potato cake and braised pork knuckles.
The purple potato cake was interesting and the texture is similar to Konjac jelly.
As it was a hot day, I was really thirsty and had the barley and orange drink and a Jasmine tea as well.
I liked the pairing of orange and barley because it was refreshingly different.

[Review 5294] A great Indian place in SK @ Village Malaysian and Indian Restaurant

Village Malaysian and Indian Restaurant
西貢普通道1E號地下

Village Malaysian and Indian Restaurant has been in SK for years and I never knew about it because it is well hidden.
I discovered this restaurant after dining at The Cabin.
They offer a range of Malaysian and Indian dishes and for lunch they have some good deals.
As an Indian food lover, I chose saag paneer, aloo gobi, butter chicken and plain naan.
Started with the fruit punch which was brilliant because it was made with real juice and had bits of apples and oranges in it.
The food was impressive too.
The saag paneer was creamy and fluffy while the cheese was soft as they make it themselves.
I love the aloo gobi because the tomato taste was rich and strong, and the potatoes were tasty and soft.
The butter chicken was interesting because it was really served with a blob of butter on top and it went well with the fluffy naan.
The Saffron rice is a must because you have to have these long grains of soft Basmati rice with curry.
Definitely coming back again.

It appears that the crowd here are Buddhist believers according to the conversations in the background.
Anyway, they have lunch sets, a la carte an tea sets.
Quite alot of the items on the a la carte menu have been discontinued even the teas so it is best to choose from the set menu.

As it was lunch, I found it very noisy and the typical clinking noises of Chinaware in the kitchen irritated me a bit.
The soup I had was quite nice and flavourful.
For the mains, I had the Taiwanese style basil and monkey head mushroom pot.
The mushrooms were a bit chewy compared to this other Vegetarian place I tried the other day and it lacked taste but the smell was there.

Porterhouse by Laris is a modern steakhouse offering more than steaks.
There is a meat locker that displays all the different cuts of beef.
There is a seafood bar

Started with the TRIO OF OYSTERS.
From left to right was: vinegar, kiwi and mango, dashi foam.
I liked the vinegar which was refreshingly traditional and the dashi foam which made the oyster extra silky.
The fruit one was perfect for summer and makes you hungry for more.
Then we had LOBSTER BISQUE which had Creme Fraiche and Fennel Pollen.
The bisque was poured infront of you.
It was thick and creamy with a strong fish taste but the lobster wasn't so strong.
Here was the juicy linz heritage angus USDA prime beef RIB-EYE steak we had.

They had so many different mustards to choose from.
To be honest, the beef was simply good with salt but they had all these fancy mustards which had to be tried such as the madras curry and beetroot.
The salt selection was just as good because they had lava salt, blue salt and more.
For sides, we had BRIE & CHIVE MASHED POTATOES which were silky mashed potatoes with butter topped with BRIE!!
The CONFIT DUCK LEG is a modern surprise because it is flavoured with Earl Grey and Sour Cherry Compote.
For drinks, I had a sweet Salted Chocolate Soda which you don't often see on the menu.
It had an interesting Chocolate and Vanilla taste with a fizz.
As a tea lover, I had my favourite Earl grey tea which came in such an adorable teapot.
I can't wait to come back again and try other dishes because they have this buccatini, burrata and basil pasta dish and lots more.
