Mexican buffet!

I am so glad Coyote has been serving the Mexican lunch buffet since last year because the only place that has Mexican buffet is in Central called I Caramba! but that has closed down.

There is another chance for buffet at AGAVE but that only happens on 5th May for Cinqo de Mayo.

The buffet is only $108 and you get bottomless lemon tea which works out cheaper than their a la carte menu.
It is really busy at lunchtime thanks to TVB.

The buffet selection has all my favourite items such as Mexican rice, smoky ribs, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, tacos with a heated cheesy dip and more.
There is also smoked salmon which is technically not Mexican but the Chinese love it.

They have two house sauces.
My friend had the fruit tequila which was fruity with a strong alcohol kick in it.

I can't quite understand why this place is called Cool Fee Café and Dessert because no one likes a fee or maybe it has something to do with the Chinese pronunciation.
I only had the gelato which is processed with that weird softserve device which makes a funny noise when it is operated.
I had the durian gelato which was quite sweet with bits of durian in it.

Went here to celebrate a friends redundancy so obviously dining on a budget!!!
Broths are priced from $89 so we chose the preserved egg with coriander.

Although it was a basic broth, they put tofu and sweetcorn in it.
The broth itself was quite nice as a soup so I drank quite a bit.
Ordered the crystalline iceplant because I love this pretty vegetable that holds a lot of water with pretty water droplets on the surface.
It tasted great raw and blanched.
For meat, we had the ostrich which is cholesterol free with a beef texture and taste.

The sauces were a bit weak compared to other places.

For drinks, we had the lemon and barley which was refreshingly sweet.

I used to think that Yue was only famous for the tri coloured steamed egg but they have other dishes as well.
Started off with appetizers of roast pork, refreshing cherry tomato in vinaigrette and stuffed beans.
The highlight was the stuffed beans because they normally use peppers and the beans tasted sweeter and more palatable for people who don't eat peppers.

Next was the stuffed crab shell!
It was crazy how there was so much crab in it!

This is the award winning steamed egg which has three layers.
The orange layer is carrot and the green layer is vegetable.

The steamed egg remains quite hot so eat it with caution and it is rather filling.

Next was soup.
I love soup and it had whelks, morel mushrooms and silkie chicken.

Then came my favourite dish, it was chicken and fishmaw in rich orange gravy that was made with concentrated chicken soup and chicken feet so you can imagine how fattening it is!

Anyway, I ordered extra rice so that I could put gravy on it.

After stuffing myself, the next course was a light dish of vegetables in soup topped with peach tree gum.

We also had the beef ribs which were soft and came off the bone easily but I was too full to eat it.

Finished with fried rice which was nice because it had fermented black beans in it.

For dessert, we had this cooling sweet soup with delicious pieces of jelly and glass pearls.
