Went here again because I like the roujiamas.
Tried a different noodle this time.
The noodles are similar to wide strips of parpadelle pasta but the texture was rather hard and firm.
The meat sauce on top was strong and full of fermented bean flavour.

For the appetizer I had the garlic cucumber which was appetizing as it was drenched in a vinegary sauce.

The beef roujiama was as good as before with a lovely cumn flavour and spicy kick but the beef was a bit tough this time.

Finished with a soothing soy bean drink.

Next time, I will stick with liangpi!

[Review 5409] Spicy laksa broth @ 7-Eleven Daily Cafe

I was in the area again and tried the soba noodles and laksa broth which were not on the menu before.
All the seats inside were occupied so sat outside in the nasty heat.
Unfortunately, the broth was too spicy for me.
The cappuccino on the other hand was really good which means bad coffee for others because I like weak coffee.

[Review 5408] Rainbow afternoon tea set @ Ebb & Flow 大堂酒廊

Went to Ebb & Flow, a nice relaxing place with wifi and plenty of sockets to charge electrical devices.
Tried the Rainbow afternoon tea set which is shown on their ipad and the price and items are clearly listed.
The colourful waffles are all you can eat.
It costs $198 for one or $388 for two.
There are a good selection drinks and we chose Earl grey tea and latte.
Here was the Rainbow afternoon tea set we had:
I loved the savouries.
The brioche filled with pulled pork and kimchi was lovely and warm with a sweet and spicy taste.
The other three were also delicious especially the silky pate foie gras with date chutney, while the tuna tartar had a Thai touch to it.
The tea set also had eclairs which were divine. The strawberry tasted natrual with popping candy on top, and the apple one had delicious apple slices in the middle.
We then moved on to the waffles.
They were soft and chewy and pistachio was my favourite so we had more since you can order as much as you want.

After googling this place, I thought it was a vegetarian restaurant but they serve both vegan and meat dishes.
They specialize in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean dishes.
Started with Tabouleh which is a appetizing mix of chopped parsley, tomatoes and bulgar wheat.

Then we had six colourful dips.
My favourite was the green mixed with avocado and pistachios.

The pita bread that went with it was a bit too hard and dry.
Then we had the Jordanian Shisbarak dumplings which were made vegetarian filled with vegetarian cheese surrounded in yoghurt.
It was quite salty.

Next were rices:
The Arabic fried rice was tasty infused with my favourite cumin.
The Mojadra had crispy lentils with a slight spicy flavour.
Finished with the Shish Tawook which was a bit bland compared to the dishes that came before.
For dessert, the mastic icecream was loaded with pistachio nuts with a light rose flavour but the texture was not elastic enough.
The Kanafeh was interesting, it tasted like deep fried mozzarella coated in sweet crispy bits.
I really enjoyed the Mezzes and fried rice but it would be good if the food came faster.

I didn't hesitate to stop by for dumplings because I have tried the Wan Chai branch before.
The menu is slightly different here as they serve mainly dumplings and noodles.
The WanChai branch serves more variety like the delicious toffee apples which I went twice for.
Got the different pan fried dumplings, the egg and tomato and the lamb with a beef broth.
The egg and tomato one was really good and it was tasty enough without sauce.
I also had the beef broth which was really strong and salty.
It was hard to choose because I wanted the vegetarian dumpling as well.
Also had the chicken, cucumber and flat bean sheets in sesame sauce which was presented neatly in the dish.
It tasted nice and not too heavy.
The Spicy pork knuckles was promising, when it arrived it looked soft like steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce and it definitely was soft and delicious.
It came with a delicious gravy which went well with the noodles.
