Got the fried radish pudding because I have never tried it.
They were uniform rectangular pieces which were fried evenly with a crisp surface and a soft centre.
The taste was ok and the oils from the bits of preserved sausages were gone from the frying process.
It got saltier towards the end after eating all the pieces so it is probably best to share it.

[Review 5473] This is the best branch @ 温野菜 On-Yasai
27/09/2016
温野菜 On-Yasai
銅鑼灣堅拿道東8號2000年廣場4樓
4/F, Plaza 2000, 8 Canal Road East, Causeway Bay
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/this-is-the-best-branch-e2653551
I always go to this branch because the service is good.
Attempted to go to the TST branch when the restaurant was 99% empty and they allocated me to share a table with someone when all the other tables were empty but at the CWB branch, they always give you good tables.
NO NEXT TIME AT TST.
TYPICAL OF KOWLOON, AKA THE DARK SIDE OF HONG KONG.
This time I chose the Japanese curry broth which was a bit too spicy for me so I will stick to the yuzu one next time.

[Review 5472] The right place for me @ The Right Place

The Right Place 此店前身為 M1 Bar
尖沙咀寶勒巷17-19號地下
G/F, 17-19 Prat Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/the-right-place-for-me-e2651119
At the beginning I thought this was just an ordinary bar serving food because the menu just looked like the standard ones you find in every bar.
We ordered drinks first which really surprised us by its presentation.
Dr Healthy (a mocktail) was served with a side of salad that you can eat.
Fantasy place ( a mockail) was served in a dimsum basket with grapes decorated with blueberries and a halved passion fruit topped with preserved plums.
Adding the preserved plums gives the drink a slight bitter and tart taste.
For cocktails, we had "My cup of tea" which was served with tea leaves and a tea pot.
It had a lovely infusion of elderflower and gin.
Food wise, we had 65 deg C sous vide grilled chicken wings with garlic and chili because nearly every table ordered it.
They tasted like typhoon shelter chicken wings with a good degree of spiciness.
Next were the Sake US Manila clams with chili and garlic.
The taste was amazing because the chili was really aromatic and there was hint of butter in it without being too heavy. There is a piece of garlic bread to soak up the sauce but I ended up drinking it because it was so nice.
Last but not least, the octopus with baby spinach salad tossed with pommery honey mustard dressing was really appetizing because the sauce was sweet and moreish.
While I was dining there, I enjoyed what they were showing on TV because it was artistic and about designers and fashion which is more entertaining than other stuff in my opinion.
To summarize, I like the way they serve healthy food and drinks with a touch of Modern and Chinese to it.

[Review 5471] Earl grey tea flavoured eggette @ 摩豆 Modos

Shop A1, 174 Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok, Mong Kok
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/earl-grey-tea-flavoured-eggette-e2650999
The weather is getting cooler now so this is the best time for hot street snacks that I can't usually hold with my hands because I am sensitive to hot temps.
Anyway, just when I was prepared to handle a hot item, it wasn't hot when it came.
Perhaps, it was ready and I had walked away for too long.
The tea flavour was quite nice and it wasn't too sweet but the texture was too crispy for my liking.

I always come here for the minced chicken with basil and rice and the fermented red beancurd glass vermicelli C11 and C13.
Both were tasty.
The glass vermicelli has a lovely aromatic red beancurd touch with lots of celery in it while the minced chicken is nice and spicy.

[Review 5469] Saravanaa Bhavan debuts in Hong Kong @ Saravanaa Bhavan
21/09/2016
Saravanaa Bhavan
尖沙咀亞士厘道23-25號雅士利中心4樓
4/F, Ashley Centre, 23-25 Ashley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/saravanaa-bhavan-debuts-in-hong-kong-e2650370
Saravanaa Bhavan is famous in the UK so I was elated to learn that they are in Hong Kong.
Definitely highly recommended to expats because this is the stuff we get overseas and I won't waste my breath recommending it to the locals because what they expect from Indian food is entirely different.
Saravanaa Bhavan is vegetarian so it is now competing with Branto, Woodlands, and Khana Khazana.
To be honest I haven't really tried the others because I rarely dine in the dark side of Kowloon.
I remember vaguely dining at Khana Khazana's WanChai branch.
Anyway, I was really looking forward to dinner here and it definitely didn't disappoint because it is just as good as the one in UK.
I had an extremely difficult decision choosing the dishes because there were so many choices for dosa and uthappam.
Luckily the rice pudding dessert was not available that night because I am going to go again soon with my brother so we can compare it with the Tooting branch.
Here were the dishes that we had:
++++++
Cheese dosa:
I chose this because it contained grated cheddar cheese!
Basically it was crispy filled with delicious melted cheese and you can think of it as an Indian crepe!
As well as cheese they had other fillings and the rava dosa is also good so you can see how difficult it was choosing a dosa!
++++++
Idly Vada:
I have never tried this before so I got the Idly Vada so that I could try both the Idly and Vada.
Idly is Steamed rice and lentil patty patty and it is like a steamed rice cake but savoury and damn delicious!
Vada is a fried lentil donut which I tried the first time and it was so fxxing good!
Strangely it tasted like a light fluffy potato donut.
++++++
Tomato uthappam:
uthappam is a Rice and lentil pancake and again there were so many damn delicious choices to choose from so I have to dine here again!
Every damn combination they had is going to be damn delicious such as onions and peas, tomato and peas etc.
The tomato pancake was how I imagined it to be, crispy and fluffy with bits of tasty tomato.
++++++
bagalabath:
bagalabath is kurd rice which is yoghurt and rice.
Previously tried this before at some restaurant in Central but they don't always serve it.
The bagalabath here is so creamy and it is like a runny rice pudding with lovely bits of ginger and chili in it.
I had to be careful of the bits of chili though because it was too spicy for me.
++++++
To summarize, I enjoyed this meal because the items I chose were starchy and tasted like potatoes and I love anything that tastes like potato!
COMING BACK SOON!

To be honest, I came here for the melon but they have other dishes as well so dined there as it was a proper restaurant.
I didn't dare look at the parfait menu because the choice makes you dizzy as reported on the local media.
0 讚好
Started with the green tea latte which was rich and creamy but I didn't like the sweetened synthetic cream on top.
0 讚好
The pasta with clams came in a lovely broth with a rich clam taste and the pasta was al-dente.
The steak was as good as expected because it was lean and juicy.
0 讚好
The crab cakes were crispy on the outside and silky soft in the middle.
So this was the moment I was here for!
A very pricey dessert but then it was flown all the way from Japan.
The melon was sweet and mushy topped with apple slices, kiwi slices, strawberry slices, caramel pudding and softserve.
Everything was perfect but I didn't like the sweet cream that was in the melon seed cavity but otherwise a lovely dessert when someone treats you to it.
