There are three branches of 老川皇 in Kowloon. The one on the first floor was good so I didn't hesitate to try this branch, however the menu is slightly different which is good because I had to choose other dishes.
Tried the salted duck which was really good, it was not too salty so you could taste the duck as well.
The cauliflower was very tasty but not as spicy as it looks.
The liver dish was also good but the quality of the liver could be better because it was too rubbery.
The receipt is funny because the currency is not in HK$.

I love Singaporean dishes so every time I try it I can add it to my Singmalay series.
Here they are doing Singaporean x Chiuchow dish highlights including the famous black pepper crab.
I love Maxim's group because they always have knives and forks at the table so I don't have to ask for it!
Started with Deep fried minced pork and prawn roll wrapped in beancurd skin.
It was nice and meaty without being too fatty complimented well by the sweet and appetizing sauce.
The Deep fried beancurd rolls stuffed with shrimp paste served with lettuce wrap were also good because I love prawns.
Next was the Coffee and almond ribs which were sweet and sticky contrasted by the lovely fragrant bitterness of the coffee.
We had both the black pepper crab and the chili crab.
The black pepper was more fiery in my opinion but the chili one was tantalizing and it came with roti so you could dip it in the eggy sweet chili sauce.

We also had Sliced garoupa in yellow bean sauce which I liked because Yellow bean sauce had a sweet and salty kick to it.
The cereal prawn is another famous Singaporean dish.
Finished with a classic Chiuchow style Fish dumplings, meatballs and cabbage soup.
Dessert was amazing because the durian egg tarts were filled with fresh musang durian.
I also downed the coconut dessert in a flash because it was made with coconut water and almond extract which both have a delicate and fragrant taste.

Unsuspectingly, there is a restaurant on the top floor of the HMV shop in CWB.
A great place for people to gather with a wide variety of choices.
Started with fresh country selected mussels cooked with pancetta, saffron, cream sauce with rustic bread.
The mussels were springy and tasty and the crispy bread was good for soaking up the sauce.
Next was my favourite crispy calamari with a fruity tartare sauce mixed with yuzu.
I also loved the salad because it was Kale leaves mixed with creamy avocado with juicy pieces of oranges.
The next dish had a Chinese touch to it.
It was chicken with pasta in chicken broth with shitaake mushrooms.
Breakfast Pizza was good because I love breakfast and it had my favourite elements in it.
The Live Boston Lobster Mac & Cheese had a rich lobster taste but I couldn't taste the cheese.
We also had the hmv Wagyu Beef Burger which I didn't try but the others said it was good.
Finished off with a slightly different Tiramisu which was served in a cone.
The Classic Apple Crumble with Cinnamon Gelato was my favourite because of the cinnamon gelato and the crumble was rich and buttery.
For drinks, I finished with White Chocolate Mint which was quite sweet with pieces of chocolate in it.

Due to the publicity from their IG media the restaurant was quite busy that day.
After waiting an hour and a bit, the guy comes over to ask if everything was alight and tells us that the main Chef was off today hence the wait.
They had a big takeaway order as well so they had to handle that before serving the customers at the restaurant.
My pancakes were ok but I don't know if they would taste better because the main chef wasn't there but the funny thing was when the guy was bringing it over, the icecream flew off and landed on the girl's shoulder and then went splat on the floor.
Luckily, it didn't soil her clothing.
We only got one yoghurt when we ordered two breakfasts so that was strange.

I was going to try the Yellow fin sole burger last week but luckily I didn't because it was on promotion this week.
This location used to be Indomart but not anymore!!
The Yellow fin sole burger was as good as expected but it was a bit too watery inside and the fish was extremely soft and silky with a hint of fishiness.

Went here for lunch because it was inexpensive.
Rice, vegetables, noodles, froyo and the drinks bar are unlimited.
The chicken thigh that you get comes in big chunks so after it is blanched in the broth, the texture is still springy and tender.
The only let down was the broth because it was tasteless especially the tomato.
They have a basket for bags so people can put store it under the chairs.
Mainlanders don't seem to understand how to do it.
