There are not many vegetarian buffets around which makes this place successful in Kowloon City.
As well as good food, they have a good selection of drinks such as red dates and other nutritious options.
I was really impressed because everything was tasty, my favourite were the oysters because they even had this viscous gel on the outside!!
The sweet steamed buns were delicious as well and they had my favourite pandan.

[Review 5566] Chocolate and orange icecream @ 阿波羅 Apollo

Chocolate and orange are always a match made in heaven but sometimes the orange peel can be overwhelming.

I spotted this dark brown chocolate icecream with lots of orange pieces in it so I went over and took a look.
It turned out to be Chocolate and orange nata de co co.

I have never liked nata de co co because the ones I have tried were really artificial in taste and texture (probably from China but surprisingly nata de co co originates from the Philippines).

The nata de co co in this icecream is infused with orange so I decided to try it as there certainly wouldn't be any orange peel here.

The taste of this icecream was so good, and the orange was quite natural without any orange bitter peel taste.

There was so much nata de co co in the scoop of icecream that every spoonful was divine with these big chunks of orange nata de co co, and I loved the chew in the icecream.

It was like eating molecular gastronomic pieces of orange jelly which was more chewy than normal because of the frozen texture.

I used to think nata de co co was young coconut meat pieces soaked in syrup but after googling it I was more than amazed to learn that it was fermented coconut water which gels through the production of microbial cellulose.
Microbial cellulose is also used in the Medical industry for tissue engineering, wound dressings etc.

[Review 5565] Pandan Chamomile tea @ HABITŪ caffè

I love Pandan so I was curious about the Pandan chamomile tea.
It had me thinking if it was a tea blend but it turns out to be a chamomile tea bag with a pandan leaf.
I am not keen on Chamomile but the good thing is that you can take the tea bag out asap so that that the chamomile won't be strong.

Anyway, interesting drink!

[Review 5564] Mrs Vinegar rules NOT @ 醋娘子 Mrs. Vinegar

In English, when someone rules it means they are the best but Mrs Vinegar does not and ironically there are many rules in this shop!
Cents (not even a a damn 5cent, that is crazy) or $1000 notes are accepted.
HKD:CNY  100:110
Drinking water is not available:
$40 minimum lunch charge, 10% service charge after 6pm and they will seat you when everyone has arrived.

So anyway, I never planned to try this place but walked past and discovered they had English Chip butty on the menu so it got me curious as to why a Chinese place would have such a British item because not many people would know what a chip butty is.
I am assuming that this dish is targeted for expats but they don't have this in English outside so what is the point of doing it when the targeted people can't see it.

I don't expect them to serve REAL English chips but I just wanted to try it so I went in and ordered it.
After waiting 5 minutes, they told me the bun was sold out so I decided to go there another day.

On the second visit a day later, they still didn't have the bun so I ordered chips with Sichuan sauce to check out the chips.
It was overdone crunchy Brown crinkle cut chips so I don't think I would have liked the chip butty if it was available and the meat was mostly fat and not fresh.
This is the reason I am forced to eat meatless meals in Hong Kong because most places serve meat that is not fresh but of course if you pay more then you get fresh meat which is stupid.

I liked the other options such as chips and dandan meat sauce, again if the chips were fried nicely and the meat was fresh, it would be wonderful.

A waste of $25.

Wow, Indonesian soto ayam

Walked past and discovered this place selling eggettes, as well as eggettes there were other items on the menu such as pizza and noodles.

The shop style was Japanese so I would expect Japanese food on the menu but they had laksa and soto ayam so I went for the noodles.
I wasn't expecting the noodles to be good because it was just weird that they serve Asian noodles in an eggette place and the kitchen was just big enough for some eggette appliances that I was surprised they could serve pizza and all that.

When it came, the presentation was surprisingly good and the taste was nice too, the chicken was unexpectedly decent and it was fresh pieces of chicken breast meat.

The Laksa was also good and even better than the Singaporean localized Toast box in Hong Kong.

Went here for lunch and had this excellent themed buffet.
The staff are consistently stuck up.
Our lunch ended with a delicious rhubarb crumble which was found in the dessert section but they didn't have custard.

Went here for tea and got the bento.
It was like bits and pieces put together but didn't go together.
The donut is always good and the salted caramel sauce was the highlight of the bento and the rest were just not so interesting.
The noodles were disgusting, I didn't bother trying them but the tourist didn't like it because the broth was sickly sweet. (no picture).
I liked the hotpot thing because RED MILK makes me curious.
The tea used to be served in this nice vacuum glass cup but not anymore.
It was hilarious that my tourist friend said the logo was creepy like bogeyman!~
