Friendly noodle joint

I was captivated by the broccoli dumpling so went in.
The staff were really friendly so you didn't feel rushed into ordering.
It was hard making up my mind because they had so many different dumplings so in the end I had spinach dumplings with prawn and squid rolls.
The other noodle was with beef brisket.
I loved the bowls and chopsticks because it was in my fave pink blush colour.
The fish skin crackers were really good and I ate them in a British way by dipping red vinegar and soy sauce like salt and vinegar.

Raindrop cake

Stopped by for some Raindrop cake because the ones here have a modern twist paired with Western ingredients such as Mint and chocolate and raspberry and rose syrup.
As well as modern raindrop cakes, they have the traditional one too with brown sugar and bean powder.
I was lucky that day because they ran out of the mint molecular balls so they made a fresh batch in front of me.
The raindrop cake was so much bigger than other ones I have tried.
It was nice with chocolate syrup and mint, something that you won't be able to try elsewhere.
The pairing of chocolate and raspberry would also be good.

Previously dined at Kale when they were in Sheungwan but now they are bigger and better at OLIV located at Sharp Street behind Times Square with gorgeous views of Happy Valley, Crowne Plaza and CWB city.
The menu has more choices than before and there are some new shakes which make it difficult to choose because they all sound delicious.
For those of you that are not familiar with KALE, Kale is a vegetable with frilly leaves that is high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, and rich in calcium. Kale is a source of two carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin.
It contains sulforaphane (particularly when chopped or minced), a chemical with potent anti-cancer properties.
Kale is said to boosts DNA repair in cells and appears to block the growth of cancer cells as well as lowering cholesterol and decrease absorption of dietary fat. [citation needed]
Quoted from Wiki, so if that's all true, then KALE is a real hero for our health.
I opted for the seared Tuna salad with kale and beetroot.
It was so colourful and the colours of green, ruby red and rosy tuna went together perfectly.
Not only did it look good, the taste was wonderful, the dressing was tangy and punchy which was just the thing for Kale because it needs something strong.
The tuna was seared just right and deliciously tasty with the appetizing beetroot.
To finish off, I had the Avocuddle which is a blend of young coconut, dates and avocado.
I really liked this because it had my favourite young coconut and avocado and it was sweet, thick and delicious.

I was still hungry after dinner and this was one of the shops that was still open at Rhythm gardens so tried it because I haven't tried it before.
Got the rice rolls for $8 where you get 4 rolls sliced randomly.
They weren't fantastic but then I didn't have any expectations.
The ricerolls were too soft and the sauces were pretty lame.
[Was still hungry afterwards!!!!]

As well as good food, the desserts are also good but unfortunately I was a bit full.
Started with the Vietnamese noodles which had a great strong broth but the noodles were a bit too sweet and didn't soak the broth.
The glass vermicelli had a strong garlic taste so I should have skipped this dish and ordered an extra dessert.

For dessert, I had the Thai pancakes which were panfried with a crisp surface topped with young coconut and the bottom part was quite tasty.
The coconut smoothie is a must order because it is so soothing with a fresh young coconut taste.

After having some delicious temaki rolls in Tuen Mun, I decided to try my luck here with the handrolls.
The one I had was very messy because when I took a bite, the salmon roe balls just fell everywhere and the seaweed was not crisp.
I had to tug it like a dog to tear it apart.
As for the taste, it was ok but the let down was the seaweed.

[Review 5841] Indian vegetarian gem @ 正宗百分百印度全素食品餐廳 Sharmaji Indian Veggie Restaurant

I discovered this restaurant because I was in the area and I had to make a special trip here because the location is not exactly convenient.
I got the MTR to Homantin station thinking it was close but I was wrong.
Whampoa might be a better stop but you still have to walk.
At Sharmaji, they serve North and South Indian vegetarian food at affordable prices.
There were so many things I wanted to eat but in the end I went for the Noodles, Vegetable cutlet, Palak tikki and Pau bazi.
The vegetable cutlet and palak tikki were good but a bit too dry for my liking but it was good you can order by piece to try them out.
The Pau Bazi was buns with some curry and dips to complement it. It didn't look spicy but it was extremely spicy and you can taste more spices in this than other restaurants.
The fried noodles were a bit too soft but again super spicy.
The bill amounted to HK$123 so it wasn't that expensive.
