I was excited about the fish offal dish I ordered because offal normally means livers, hearts, lungs etc but the fish offal at this place was FISH ROE!! I love fish roe, this is the first item I eat if there is any from steamed fish! The second is fish cheeks and eyes.

Never would I have thought fish roe would be classified as fish offal but anyway it was bloody delicious because it was crispy on the outside and full of Sichuan spicy flavours.

They were generous as well with the fish roe.

It is similar to battered roe in British fish and chip shops but with more intense flavours.
The spicy beancurd sheets were very salty and spicy and the sheets were too big.

The gizzards were a bit too dark for my liking so it makes me wonder if they have too much toxins in them!!

I was captivated here because there were so many vegetarian choices from veggie congees to veggie ricerolls.
Ordered the courgette congee and the spring onion ricerolls.
I wanted to ordered the vegetable congee but they said it was choisum and somehow it doesn't match and I can imagine them plonking a whole choisum with the long stalk in the congee!!!

It would be great if it was lettuce.

Anyway, the congee was really disappointing because you couldn't taste any rice flavour to it, the taste was just creamy and the courgettes were just thrown in.
The ricerolls were horrible but perhaps HK style.
Before I put any sauces they just tasted damn sweet, I can imagine it not going well for people with diabetes!
Anyway, definitely nothing like the Chinese rice rolls in the UK which are not sweet by default.

The staff were in a hurry to get your order as well~

Spotted this bingsut a mile away because of the colourful logo.
Went in for lunch and noticed they had souffle but I didn't try it as I am trying to cut down on proteins.

I had the rice noodles instead which came in a fish and potato broth served with lemon chicken wings.
You couldn't really taste the fish when it was hot but after it cooled down you could taste the fish.

I couldn't it very healthy and simple as there was no msg and it was light.

Next was the steak cutlet, just ordered it because I was curious!
The restaurant has an advantage because since the steak is covered they can choose an extremely fatty one!

I suppose the coating helps to keep it juicy and the surface doesn't get too burnt.



Strangely it was served with fried rice or spaghetti but this is bingsut style.

The tea was the usual HK milk tea and the fruit punch tasted like Ribena syrup.

This is the second branch of Selfie Cafe located conveniently opposite an MTR exit hence the reason why I dined here.The lunches are quite affordable around 6x-8x.Had the steak with pepper gravy, it tasted like Chinese tenderized steak but at least it wasn't fat.The potato wedges were ok.

You can also print your photo on the drinks but they didn't really promote this service until I asked.The Earl Grey tea was ok but the milk they used was powdered milk and perhaps it would taste better with less sugar.

After choosing the Ribeye on the last visit, decided to come back for the tenderloin.

Went with more people so that we could try other meats as well.

Started with oysters, I liked the way the spinach leaf separates the cheese and oyster but the thing that let it down was oyster shells in the cheese and you could also see oyster shell bits on the paper.
The lobster was only $68 so don't expect it to be big.



As expected the tenderloin was meaty and flavourful.

The ribs were good but the meat didn't come off the bone easily.

It would be great if they pre sliced the steaks like Flat Iron in London since these novelty butcher knives are difficult to use.

Hoping to visit the hangout later.

Great veggie burger

The grilled cheese I had wasn't good but the veggie burger made up for it.

It reminded me of the burgers I had in London during the uni days because of the white mayonnaise.

The burger patty was yummy as it had blended broccoli and other veggies but the only thing that let it down was the crispy coating which was too hard, burnt  and the oil wasn't that fresh.

This is my canteen for Indian food and it is conveniently right next to the MTR exit so I went on a rainy day.
As usual had saffron rice with the butter chicken.
The butter chicken is consistently good with a delicious sweet taste and brilliant with the saffron rice.
Also got the naan because their naans are damn good.
Finished with a mango lassi and lime soda.
