As an Indian food lover, this has been on my list to try when I heard about it.They serve curry, rolls and a good variety of vegetarian and sugar free desserts.
There was a vegetarian roll I had to try and this is the only place that serves it.
To my knowledge not many places serve Bhurji and this one is completely vegetarian while the one in Central serves egg bhurji.
I had the paneer bhurji roll which is basically filled with cottage cheese  in aromatic spices and the texture is like scrambled eggs.

You will also find bits of red and green bell peppers as well.

I wish they had paneer bhurji rice because that would be more filling.
Anyway, my friend had the chicken biryani box.

For dessert I had the rice pudding which was really dreamy and I loved the texture as it was fluffy loaded with some nuts and dates.
I liked the way it was not cloyingly sweet as compared to other Indian desserts and it is sugar free sweetened with dates which makes it super healthy.

Finally, Soupreme is on the Island and much more convenient located near the MTR.
The menu is still as confusing as before but I managed to order my favourite noodles and vegetarian spicy mushroom sauce.
The noodles were consistently good as the branch in TKT and the mushroom spicy sauce makes it really spicy and flavourful.
Will return for lunch.

[Review 5987] Victorian memories @ Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour

While death and being sick in Hong Kong is a taboo, Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour is breaking this taboo at the Landmark.
Not familiar to HKers, I found the entrance very comforting as it was very similar to the Doctors place where I went as a child because I come from a Victorian seaside town.
There are two doors, both have frosted wired glass panes. One says waiting room while the other is the Doctors room.
I doubt HKers could relate to the surroundings but it is definitely a brilliant hideout with a good variety of gins.
Inside you will find old fashioned furniture and decor which transport you back to the Victorian era,
I was there for coffee and I have to admit the coffee was really good as a non coffee drinker because it was very aromatic, the temperature was just right and there was no sour aftertaste.
The receipt could do with more humour though with diagnosis and prescriptions added to it and for fun you can try submitting it to your company account dept and see if they fall for it!

Interesting MK style Vongole

Saw photos of this strange vongole so decided to try it because the pasta and clams are served separately.

The clams were in this strong alcoholic broth which was quite nice.

For starters the parma ham and melon was good but the portion was tiny but then it was only $58 so I guess I can't expect much.

The pizza was quite good because the tomato base was tangy and appetizing topped with rocket and quail egg so it was nice and light for me as I am not keen on meat.

Finished with drinks, the lychee raspberry soda was too sweet and the butterfly pea tea was unexpectedly sweetened.

TASTE OF THE LEGEND – EILEEN CHANG MENU

I like the way Di King Heen have created this Eileen Chang menu so that tourists can discover about her.
If I had not attended dinner here, I would not have known about this influential Chinese writer in the 1940s.

Started with the appetizer which was a good range from sweet to bitter.

Then there was this peppery soup which had duck tongues, pickled vegetables and radish.

The pork belly was soft with an even layer of fat.

The scallops and vegetables was a popular dish among us.

Moving on to the vegetables, it was luscious veggies wrapped in bamboo pith topped with crab roe.

For those who adore the sea cucumber, we got a big one which was covered in tasty gravy.

Finished with pan fried dumplings which were bursting with meat juice.

Looking forward to their new menu again which I hope will be James Bond or Bruce Li.

Damp and sticky

When I arrived, the place felt damp and the chairs had this wet cling to it.
The noodles were rather sweet for my liking,
The fried rice with Chinese olives and pork was a bit too salty and sweet.
The tossed noodles were also too salty

Anyway, what annoyed me was that one of the meals came with a drink which I did not know so I ordered a drink and ended up getting an extra same drink and being charged for it.
I wish the communication could be better as who would order two same drinks.

[Review 5893] Not your boring Japanese fare @ HON10

Hon10 is conveniently located in Pacific Place on the ground floor.
They serve fine Japanese food with a Western touch.
I was attracted because they had dishes with a Western touch which suits my palate more.
The Sakura smoked salmon was really good because it was sashimi grade sakura smoked salmon with baguette slices, wasabi cream sauce and spring onions for you to put together.

The buffalo chicken was also good because of the sauce, it was made with celery and cheese.
The Wagyu comes with four fun condiments to dip.

My ultimate favourite was the Wagyu Yakiniki cheese roll because it tastes exactly the same as a Philly Cheese steak except the beef is better and there are so much delicious onions tossed with it topped with cheese and it is paired with purple potato crisps.

For those who clearly like sushi and sashimi.
Clearly it is fresh so I won't bother going into details about the sashimi and sushi etc but my favourite was the eel rolls because it was topped with soft and creamy avocado and my favourite salmon roe.

The Tuna Maniac roll (mixed tuna platter) was also good because the grilled tuna and the lean tuna were my faves.

Finished with the strawberry jam soda which was very refreshing with a natural taste as they make it with their homemade jams.
