I have always wanted to try this joint but forget to try it because it is well hidden in the basement.
As well as noodles they serve dimsum which was a surprise as they are called Noodle Stand.
Strangely, the noodle choices are wonton noodles, flat rice noodles and rice vermicelli, however the dandan noodle is the only one that has a different noodle to the ones mentioned above so I chose that.
The noodles were good with a Sichuan touch but the oil or the noodles were a bit rancid which ruined it.

Came here because of the decor!
The photo thing was amusing.

Anyway, tried this drink for the first time which was cream soda literally mixed with milk.
It tasted like bland watery icecream.

I was surprised to see roujiama on the menu so ordered it but unfortunately, it was stuffed with Taiwanese mince and not the filling I was expecting.

The Sichuan chicken was interesting because the rice was topped with condiments which made the rice sweet and it complimented the spicy chicken nicely.

The charcoal toast turned out to be a surprise because the chicken tasted like Chinese style buffalo sauce with a strong hint of garlic but it was way too salty.


Overall, it was good but the food was a bit too salty and the cutlery and plates were a little sticky.

Went here ages ago so the menu and decor have changed completely according to the recent reviews.
When I went I had the purple potato bread which was filled with thick seafood pumpkin soup that was good for dipping the bread.
The pumpkin soup was as thick as gravy and not too sweet.
Hopefully the tortilla chips are not paired with the bread anymore because everything is healthy except that.

I am not a fan of Malaysian food because I don't like coconut milk and the spices they use.
The portion of Lasi Nemak was tiny.
Anyway, it was really spicy and the rice was too coconutty.
The dish names were entertaining: too spicy for your mum and too spicy for your aunty!

Walked past one day and discovered this joint so went in to see what food they served but the place stank of oil so I left.
Went back during the weekend when it was a lot quieter and it didn't smell so bad.
Got the seafood rice which is just like Hawaiian poke mixed with their secret sauce.
The cubes of tuna were lean and tasty but I didn't like the salmon because it still had skin attached to it.

There are lots of options for soups in Sheungwan like Souper Authentic 球哥燉湯,  靚湯王 at Dor dor eatery (with rude service) and Souprb which is new.
What makes Soupreme special is that they are recommended by Michelin and their noodles are fantastic with lots of options for vegetarians.
The only thing I dislike is the menu because it is difficult to comprehend.
The lunch sets are filling and tasty, especially the ox tail which is soft and comes off the bone easily.
I also chose the red rice as a healthy and satisfying option.

There are lots of options for Chinese soups in Sheungwan like Soupreme 湯品小棧, Souper Authentic 球哥燉湯
and 靚湯王 at Dor dor eatery (with rude service) but NONE for Western soups unless you go all the way to TALLORE in Wanchai.
Finally Souprb has popped up serving soups with 5 choices which they change every week.
The soup choices were impressive because there were 4/5 that I wanted to try: pumpkin, beetroot, Mexican chicken, portobello and chestnut, Prawn and crab gumbo (premium choice +$10)

As a soup fan, I got the tasting set which comes with two soups while my friend got the Stew set which comes with rice and a curry.
They also had toasties which I really really wanted to eat as well.

We both added $30 for the made to order freshly pressed juices which were refreshing but a bit too sweet.

The curry was Japanese curry served with Japanese rice.


As for the soups, the chestnut portobello mushroom was really good, it was thick and blended with so much mushroom and chestnuts in it.
The gumbo was a little disappointing because the cajun and spiciness was not strong enough and there were bits of shell in the soup.
The Mexican chicken tasted like Chinese style borscht soup with chicken added to it.
Will definitely be back for the toasties but the tasting set was not very filling, but then I probably have a big appetite.
