Japanese sangria

Went here with friends for Happy Hour because of this instagram worthy Japanese sangria which comes in a huge fish shaped bottle just like the sushi ones.

The Sangria is a concoction of Japanese red wine, zuisen red tea liquer and Japanese citrus fruits.
It was very strong but the fruits helped to balance it.

There is an open bar area where you can watch the mixiologist do his magic.
Managed to catch him carve an iceball which was done in a flash!
For nibbles had the Negitoro wrap sushi which was creamy with a strong unami taste.

Nissin ramen popup store at LOF10

As a fan of Nissin noodles, I had to check out the Nissin ramen popup at LOF10 in Causeway Bay where they have decorated the place like a ramen joint with ramen bowls and Nissin figures.
On the menu special, there are four sets to choose from ranging from $88-$108, all including a noodle, dessert and drink.
For me, it is super difficult to decide which one to get but in the end I narrowed it down to the two.
It was either the soup or the one with luncheon meat so I settled for the soup one because of the okra.
The ramen turned out really good because the softness was just right and the broth was good with a poached egg which makes the broth even richer.
For dessert, there was the bubble eggette topped with syrup and rose petals.

Finished with a satisfying latte.

I absolutely love this place because it is expat friendly and a place where you can appreciate Chinese teas from Wu Yi.
Tried the set where you get two different teas and some nibbles.
The first pot of tea is done by them so you roughly know hot to brew the tea.

In terms of taste, my favourite is now the Wu Yi Narcissus which has a floral note.
Their teas are graded so you can choose the price range that you want.
As for the nibbles, the cookies were buttery and crumbly.

Deliciously satisfying lobster menu

Born and raised in a UK seaside town, I am used to fresh seafood and not so far from home is Brittany another seaside town where they have quality seafood as well.
At EPURE,  Executive Chef Nicolas Boutin brings you the best experience with blue lobsters from Brittany until the end of this month with the THEMATIC dinner.
I was really impressed with this dinner because every course was uniformly sumptuous and the blue lobster was delicately sweet and springy.

Began with the chilled soup and amouse bouche.
The petit pois tarts were divine because they just pop in your mouth with sweetness and it is so difficult to get fresh peas in HK.  Peas are a must in French food!

The chilled soup was amazing because the tiny mussels at the bottom were sweet and fresh while the mussel foam on top smoothed it out contrasted by the refreshing vegetable jelly.
The first of the lobster course was the Blue Lobster with Heirloom Carrot, Baby Artichoke and Elderberry Vinaigrette.
The fruity, sweet elderberry vinaigrette made a perfect pairing with lobster.
Next was the Blue Lobster with Shellfish Consommé, Petit Pois and Celery.
The consomme was rich and strong owing to the lobster tomalley mousse contrasted by the sweet green peas and crisp celery.

The third course was a bit like surf and turf wtih Blue Lobster, Blonde d’Aquitaine Beef, Spring Onion, ‘Grenaille’ Potato Tarragon and Red Wine Sauce.
As well as the lobster, the potatoes were also fluffy and tasty.
For desserts, the choice was hard because there was the Seasonal & Essential Artisan Cheese Selection or the Mille-Feuille because both are good!
The Caramelised Mille-Feuille is prepared by your table with fresh strawberries, lime zest and Chantilly cream.

The cheese platter is wonderful but the Caramelised Mille-Feuille is definitely recommended because it is visually stunning with all those layers and it is such an experience when you eat it.

Fell victim to what I thought was a new burger but then discovered I had already eaten it before in 2014.

I felt that the burger tasted like chicken satay and the crispy coating was exactly the same as the coating that you find in Singaporean style cereal prawns.

The bun was much better and the strong tasting romaine lettuce had more flavour along with the cucumber that it complemented the chicken patty nicely.

It is basically an improved version of the The Samba burger served in June 2014 because they have replaced lettuce with tasty Romaine lettuce.

With all the different branches of Bariuma, this joint hits the spot because it is located at LKF which serves as a quick ramen before drinks are a filling ramen if you are still hungry after a late night.

I am always in Central so went to this branch to see if the quality is just as good.
The noodles and broth was really good because the broth was strong and thick.
It is actually thicker than the other branches I have tried.
The dumplings have a strong chive taste because they are loaded with chives.
They are not made in house though because they come in frozen form and pan fried.

Ryoyu Bakery Finally in TKO

This is my favourite bakery but there were only two branches at Tsuen Wan and Whampoa which are both far away.
The third one at MOKO mall is annoying because it is on the 5th floor.
Now there are two new branches in the New Territories, one at East Point City and one at Popcorn which is due to open soon.

I wanted to try the new buns but they were sold out by the time I got there so I got the cheese bun which I haven't tried before.
It was quite tough but at least it was yeasty and springy.
The cheese taste was subtle but the saltiness was stronger.

The bread leaves your fingers a little bit oily and I couldn't find the cheese cubes as stated on the label..
