I always come here for my dandan noodle fix because the noodles are just right and not too soft with a strong peanut taste in the broth.
The jellyfish here is healthy as it is paired with Chinese radish and it is not oily.Also had the Wuxi ribs which had a punchy sweet and sour taste.
The dumplings are good because I love the way the broth is crystal clear and oil-less that I end up drinking it.
Had two different ones, a vegetable one and a pork one.
The vegetable one was really tasty because the vegetable one is made with the filling that you find in the steamed Shanghai veg bun.
While the pork one had a nice crunch from the siutongchoi vegetable.


Finished with the prune drink, a classic Shanghainese drink which has a smoky taste.

Chocolate and pears always go well together so naturally the same goes for this icecream.
It is a refreshing blend of dark chocolate icecream and pear sorbet.
The dark chocolate icecream is strong in taste while the light sweet pear sorbet mellows it out.
I like the way the sorbet texture is gritty because it tastes like pear puree with real fruit in it.

The dimsum here is quite traditional in that it contains lots of pork lard and pork fat.
Therefore you have to select carefully if you don't eat that.
As usual I had the prawn dumplings which were flawless and the dumpling skin was taut.
The texture was springy with meaty prawns inside.
The abalone noodles were on promotion so I ordered them, however the staff were not clear as to which noodles were served because they seemed to say it was the thick ones and it turned out to be the wonton noodles.
It was difficult to communicate because it was soooooo noisy.

The noodles were quite nice because the gravy made it delicious but there was not enough gravy for all the noodles.


The rest of the dimsums fared average but the layered custard sponge was really tasty but when you discovered pieces of pork fat, you either love or hate it.

The salted chicken is consistently good here, by that I mean it doesn't stink or the texture of the chicken is relatively good.
As for the meat, you get mainly bones and fat unless you ask for white meat which still tastes good.
The sauce that is given is aromatic but personally I don't use it because the chicken tastes good without and it has a strong aniseed taste in the sauce.
The organs were a waste or I got them when they were not that fresh because they were hard and dry.

For crab lovers, they are going to like this buffet because they have lots of crab related dishes.
My favourite was the typhoon shelter noodles which are aromatic topped with crispy garlic and black bean bits.Each strand is evenly flavoured.

It was good they had congee because I felt like having congee, you can have it with seafood but I had mine plain because it was tasty on its own.


They had marinated delights as well.

Save room for dessert because they have silky tofu, icecream, fried icecream etc but I liked the automatic pancake maker the most.


It slides out warm and soft pancakes.

I am so glad there is popup here.
It was a hot day so I got the Earl Grey tea icecream topped with chouguettes.
The chouguettes are light and airy coated in coarse sugar which paired well with the Earl Grey gelato that was not too sweet.
It had a really aromatic Earl Grey flavour and a creamy taste.

I can't remember what tea set I ordered but the crispy bun came with condensed milk and peanut butter which I didn't use.
HK style tea also came with it too which I don't drink so I mixed the peanut butter into the tea and surprisingly, it made the tea quite palatable!
The creaminess and sweetness of the peanut butter and condensed milk made it less bitter and disguised the HK tea taste a bit!!
