Hong Kong's first mini karaoke booths

I went to Red MR 紅人派對 to experience HK's first new mini karaoke rooms which are now trending in Asia.
Each of the rooms are approx. 20 square feet with functions same as the rooms except music and vocal comes out from the headphones.
The price is 15mins for HKD30 and 30mins for HKD50. Currently there are 2 mini karaoke rooms in Causeway Bay and 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui outlet.
I really liked it because you can hear your own singing more directly through headphones which is good for singing practice.
As well as these booths, they have different themed rooms.
There was supposed to be an ibutler to order food but somehow I couldn't find it so in the end I rang for the drinks.
The fruit punch was my favourite, I always order this at RedMr because it is not too sweet with a good mix of fizziness and fruit syrups.
There was also tea as well.

[Review 6234] Enter the dragon @ 韓泰尚 goodfood

韓泰尚 goodfood
旺角亞皆老街65號新之城商場地下G20號舖
Shop G20, G/F, New Town Mall, 65 Argyle Street, Mong Kok

Quite tricky, there are two meanings for consume: eating/spending.
By the eating argument, everyone has to eat.
By the spending defn, each person must order something.
So if it is the eating argument, every person who is here must have to have something in their mouth but if it is the spending argument each person must order something.
Anyway, this joint has been here for quite a while but every time I tried to go in, it wasn't inviting.
Finally went in and the lady slammed the menu at every table.
The dessert is ok, very generous with the portions and the grass jelly was not too sweet.
However the comments from some of the reviews are scary as they recycle the food for other customers.

Cloyingly sweet broth

I always go to FULL OF CONGEE for my grass jelly addiction.
There are three branches, this one is the most convenient because it is near the MTR but also the most expensive because the prices here are more expensive than the other two branches in TKW.
Anyway, before I had my fave grass jelly, I got the liver noodles which I have previously tried at Shop 2.
The broth was horribly sweet hence the noodle were sweet.
Apart from the grass jelly I don't think I will order anything else at this branch because the rice rolls are not as good as the other two branches.

Loyal Dining used to be in Central but they have now moved to Wan Chai.

They pretty much serve everything because I would go there for the all you eat dimsum when it was on promotion and I would take my friends there for roast pigeon.
At this new location, we decided to make it a memorable dinner so we ordered the Giant Sizzling plate as it was on promo for $498.

Basically a huge plate of meats enough for six. There was Grilled Australian Sirloin Steak, Grilled Spring Chicken and British Tenderized Pork Loin. As well as that there were German sausages, bacon, sunny side up eggs, baked potato, broccoli, tomato and zucchini served with a choice of 3 different gravies (black pepper sauce, BBQ and garlic sauce).
The pork chop was really good because it was soft and tenderized.

On the side there was Waldorf Salad Served with Homemade Deep-fried Shrimp Balls.
The pairing was interesting but I like Waldorf salad because of the crisp apples and celery while the shrimp balls were springy and crispy.
Next was a favourite of famous Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat.
There were two different toasts, one was sweet and one was savoury.
The sweet one was peanut butter with condensed milk while the savory one was preserved bean curd and sugar.
I always spread preserved bean curd on my toast so clearly I loved it because it has a salty taste which you can think of it like Chinese marmite or blue cheese.
The Loyal Chicken Wings Simmered in Homemade Sweet Soya Sauce are a popular item.
Everyone orders that but I was quite full after having all that steak.
I was really looking forward to the dessert because they had the Loyal Soufflé (Ovaltine).
It had a lovely Ovaltine aroma to it and it was not too sweet.

I rarely venture stations beyond Kowloon Tong because it feels like going up North and there are too many damn people.
The weather is finally getting cooler and it was a lovely gloomy day so I trekked into Taiwai for a stroll.

Interesting buildings.
Anyway, it poured with rain so somehow I stumbled upon some housing estate.
Beside this joint, there is a meat patty restaurant which has branches elsewhere while this one doesn't so I went here.
Lunch was really affordable especially in this area for Japanese.
The crab and potato croquettes were silky and sweet.
The lunch set was even better because you can get extra crispy gyozas for $8.
Last but not least were the skewers which were a surprise.
The pork and apple which was a sensible pairing just like roast pork and apple sauce was delicious as expected and I loved the big wedge of juicy apple wrapped with a piece of thinly sliced pork.
It was like a healthy version of bacon wrapped sausages.

Bigger and better on the Island
I love the hotpots here because there are other options other than beef. This branch is bigger and better on the Island side with a better buffet selection.
The signature candy floss maker is also there as well.
Hotpot options:
When I ordered, they offered this new lobster head option so I ordered that because I love lobster tomalley.
I could also smell spicy Sichuan hotpot in the air because this was on the secret menu for tourists.
I was so glad I got the lobster because after a while the lobster made the broth rich and pungent with tomalley that it was time for noodles.
Instant noodles worked the best because it absorbed the lovely broth while the green tea noodles had a grassy sting to it.
Vegetables are a must too for a balanced diet so here are my veggies.

I am so glad there are two branches of Ryoyu in TKO, one at East Point City and the other at Popcorn.
East Point City is bigger and the staff are friendlier, that branch takes paywave while this branch doesn't and it is smaller and the staff are not so friendly.
The lemon bun was quite impressive because the icing was thin and not too cloyingly sweet with a decent lemon taste.
The filling was good as well and it was creamy and refreshing with a substantial lemon taste but perhaps too sour for others people.
