Delicious with extra sauce
2017-10-28 47 瀏覽
This was my last avocado chicken burger before it was taken off the menu.
Requested for extra sauce again.
It was my last but the best because the bun was soft and warm, the chicken patty was fried just right as well and there was so much avocado sauce that every mouthful was delicious.
Again different branches have different standards because some burgers have been sitting there for quite a while.

As this place is relatively new, not many people know about it and the food takes some time so you can relax and have a good chat here.
They serve food as well as coffee so had the eggs benedict with avocado and the spicy chicken.
The eggs and avocado were flawless because the pairing of the two won't fail.
The chicken was surprisingly good because the chicken skin was crispy and tasty.
It had been roasted so perfectly that the skin was as thin as paper.
Finished with the carrot cake which was moist topped with a lovely buttercream on top.

From now until the 30th November, Centre Street Kitchen at Island Pacific Hotel will be serving the “Dai Tat Dei-style” dinner buffet featuring nostalgic elements of the Hong Kong classics.
The restaurant has collaborated with coca cola to celebrate these collective memories with everyone.
Menu highlights include Typhoon shelter fried Boston lobster, grilled sea whelk with foie gras and crab meat, stir-fried clams with chilli basil sauce, etc.
Coca-Cola” collectibles and vintage posters will be displayed during the promotion period.

This was my silky tofu with twist because I added green tea chocolate to it from the fountain garnished with strawberries.
It was quite nice but a bit too sweet.

DIY Lemon cola with fresh lemon slices from the drinks area.
The lemon takes away the sweetness so the taste is more refreshing.

My favourites were the maltose crackers because they were chewy and crispy.
They were not too sweet so I ate quite a few of them.

In the soup area, there was mock shark fin soup as well which was crammed with ingredients.

There are two different mooncakes in this box.
I forgot to take a picture because the when I sliced it, the yolk was oozing with golden oil that everyone was excited and finished the mooncake before I even got a chance to take pictures.
The other one was mixed nuts which was a nice change from lotus paste.
It was sweet and nutty with a good mouthfeel to it.

Sorrowful Rice 2.0

Sorrowful rice 黯然銷魂飯 is a bowl of Cantonese barbecued pork, with an egg, on rice.inspired by Stephen Chow’s 周星馳 1996 movie, The God of Cookery 食神.
This dish was launched a year ago hence this is version 2.0.
To be honest, I haven't tried version 1.0 and it was my first time trying Sorrowful rice so I was really excited.
It is available from 30/10/2017-24/01/18 on Mondays to Wednesdays for dinner which includes a crispy crab claw, soup and puerh and osmanthus dessert.
The roast pork is served in a big slab just like the way you buy it from the shops and it gives the satisfaction of having a whole piece of roast pork to yourself.

They use pork collar butt which is the best cut and the the roast pork is served with this glistening almost translucent glaze that is too beautiful and mesmerizing to eat.
To eat, you have to mix everything together especially the liquid yolk and the finely chopped onions underneath the roast pork so the sweetness of the onions come out and the creamy yolk lubricates the grains of rice.
For me every spoonful of rice was heaven because of the onions, egg yolk and the crisp egg white. There was also some lard which brings out all the flavours.
Moving onto the pork, it was just sensational, the meat was lean but tender and I finally satisfied my roast pork craving with this huge piece of pork!!
Saying that I desperately needed a knife and fork because the chopsticks were a bit difficult for me.

Went here with a friend before going somewhere so I didn't eat much.
The menu has changed and quite different to the menu a few years ago.
Ordered the prawn dumplings which were springy and loaded with chopped prawns.
Next were the purple potato croquettes filled with Portuguese filling.
The appearance is quite dark because the of the fried purple potato.
When you take a bite, the Portuguese filling and the purple lining is revealed.
It was a nice change from boring minced pork croquettes which got attention from people around me as they were surprised to see a purple dimsum.

Went here for the avocado smoothie but they didn't have it.
In the end just got three drinks, preserved prune soda, salty lemon soda and tri coloured coconut milk.
The tri coloured drink looked really different to the menu.
It was very sweet as well.
The prune soda was quite nice with a subtle sweetness and preserved prune taste.
It had a good deal of fizz when the soda was poured onto the preserved prunes so there must be quite a lot of chemical reactions going on between the preservatives and the soda water.
Personally, the salty lemon was my favourite because it tasted natrual but the salty lemon lacked flavour as I poked it extremely hard with the spoon but it didn't help release much flavour.
Had the black Da Nang noodles which were tasty but again there were not much noodles in the bowl.
The soup was good though, it tasted like tom yum gung.
