Nice environment but the tea set was average.
The sandwiches were obviously made for a while because the bread was dry and dehydrated.
The scones and muffins smelt strange and there was no basic cream or even clotted cream with the scones.

When I first heard of this restaurant I thought it was related to Kowloon because of the name KLN but it turns out KLN are the initials of the three owners.The restaurant is also located in an old market which is something you wouldn't expect.
It reminds me of ABC in Sheungwan but the market is slightly different in setting.
Anyway, they specialize in pasta where you can choose different sauces and ingredients.
The squid ink one was really good paired with squid while the chicken one was lighter.
Drinks were good too, there were so many choices.

Tried this because it was something that you wouldn't normally find at Hungfooktong.
It was the shaomai and pompompurin set.
I didn't like the pompompurin fish slices because they were rubbery and hard to swallow and I doubt it had fish in them either.
They are good for photos I suppose and that's it!

It was a cold day so went here for hotpot.

There are various of broths to choose from and I chose spicy chicken which is slightly different to the other broths because you eat the chicken first before adding the broth.

Broth is added after eating all the chicken.
The chicken in my pot was actually quite good because it was meaty and didn't have much brittle bones which would ruin the hotpot experience.

You get unlimited meatballs and dumplings etc.



The rolled crispy Tofu and fish skins are the biggest I have seen.



I chose pork slices which were nice and lean.

Overall I am glad I chose the chicken pot because it was tasty and filling and it is good there is also plain rice on the menu for those who don't eat noodles.

Stopped by this restaurant because the decor is quite nice compared to the other Shanghai joints on this street.Ordered the pickled vegetables with fish because quite a lot of people were eating it.
I don't normally eat this but it turned out quite nice because it wasn't too spicy but the spicy tones are similar to Kimchi.
The fish was fresh and hung the flavour well.
The dumplings were different, they were flat in shape filled with minced pork and prawns.
 For dessert, I had the steamed cake which was firm with a slight stickiness.
I wish it wasn't so sweet though.

Since my last visit, the menu is now more extensive with all day breakfasts, pancakes and more pastas.My friend suggested this place for a meeting so that we could discuss something without getting chucked out like other places.
Anyway, had the mocha and a tea to start with.

For mains, I had the spicy chicken and mushroom pasta which was quite al-dente with a double fiery punch because it had black pepper as well as chili.
The Parmesan cheese on top was a little strange though.

The Sakura shrimp toast turned out different too, I was expecting toast topped with sakura shrimp but it was topped with prawn and mayonnaise with mentaiko.
But as a prawn and mayonnaise toast, it tasted quite nice.
It was also crustless, the HK way!

This location used to be DANDAN Soul Food from Sichuan but now it is Hachi Sawa.Ever since I saw a friend post the vegetarian udon with Bamboo piths I have been wanting to try it.
Went to the branch in Shaukeiwan but they didn't have it, but frankly I prefer this branch because it is more accessible and there are more options on the menu.

Tried two different udons: signature oyster udon and the new one with bamboo pith and Japanese chicken.

It was difficult choosing between the new one and the vegetarian one but tried the new one because it contains sake.

The chicken was very tender because it is the Japanese chicken which is also recommended by celebrity chef Kei San.
The broth contains red dates which make the broth very sweet so it would be good if the sake flavour was stronger.
As for the oyster noodles, they tasted great and full of oyster flavour.
But compared to the SKW branch, you get less seaweed here and more mince.

Finished with the strawberry soda which was fantastic and not as sweet as compared to SKW.
