Another Thai joint in WC

Before New Life, the restaurant before was very mysterious.It seemed like a vegetarian restaurant for six months but it never opened and there were never any people inside.
Anyway, my boss took me there for Thai food.
I had the Hainan Chicken with rice while he had the papaya salad.
His salad was very salty.

My chicken was really good, there were two sauces one was normal ginger puree and the other one was Thai Style sauce.
The Thai sauce complemented the chicken well whilst the other sauce made it feel like Chinese style chicken.

Overall the chicken was quite nice because it was soft and tender but very bruised and brown.

I didn't have any expectations for Eatalian because most restaurant adapt their recipes to suit the people in the area.
Apart from that I liked the Restaurant logo and name which is a play of words EAT and ITALIAN pronounced Eatalian just like EeDaLe in Central.
Sat down and it was reassuring that there were expats dining there.
++++
Started with the Parma Ham and Melon which was the first surprise because it was creative.
It wasn't just melon topped with ham but on the side there was Parma ham paired with young pea shoots and molecular melon balls which actually tasted in harmony.
The Linguine with minced shrimp, garlic and anchovy was so good that I could have eaten two portions.
It was light with strong prawn flavours and the saltiness from the anchovy.
Next was the Strozzapreti with proscuitto, fava beans, Parmesan, Black truffle.
I felt compelled to order this as you rarely see this on the Kowloon side and I wonder how long it will stay on the menu due to popularity.
Again it was flawless and hung the sauce well with fragrant truffle that wasn't too creamy.
For dessert, I had the Banana Walnut Toffee Cream Pie which was a bit like banoffee but much better because everything was well balanced with crushed walnuts in the cream and dreamy toffee and a nice biscuit base that was soft and firmly held together but not hard in texture.
Finished with tea which was a perfect ending.
Overall, I was more than impressed that I totally forgot I was in SSP.
Everything was top quality from the way they served the food and the presentation.

[Review 6459] Spark Bar now has the Spark @ Spark Bar & Restaurant

Previously tried Spark Bar in MK which is nothing compared to this.The new menu is much better and there is an area for live bands and local gigs.
Started with C-allstars which was the name of the drink.
It was sweet and viscous with a strong starfruit taste.
For mains, I was really satisfied with their pastas especially the carbonara with sea uni and egg yolk.
It wasn't too creamy so it was evilicious.
The Chittara was also good, loaded with crabmeat in a rich shellfish reduction sauce.
Finished with the poached pear with a modern twist with salted caramel icecream, crispy egg pieces and wine jelly.
I couldn't believe how delicious it was because the icecream was not too sweet and all the dishes had fine dining quality.

I appreciate teas so whenever there is a new tea house or tea themed cafe I have to go and check it out.
When you go in, you will notice the simplistic yet modern decor.The menu is extensive, as you will find set meals, tea based drinks and cakes.
The set meal is pretty simple, you can choose from Chazuke, Noodles in tea soup, or noodles in cold tea soup paired with two sides from a choice of four.
Tried the Chazuke and Noodles in Tea Soup.
Both were filling and the sides that day were yuzu and sencha chicken wings, tofu in Jasmine tea, mixed mushrooms in oolong and fish in lemongrass orange dressing.
As well as the tea flavours in the sides, there were lots of tea leaves that you could see.
++++++
Chazuke:
++++++
Noodles in Tea Soup:
++++++
There were so many drinks to choose from so I had the chocolate with masala which was chocolate with a hint of spices.
Masala Chocolate:
The Matcha Au Lait was a popular drink, where you get to mix the matcha and pour it it.
It was fun and you get try the matcha before you pour it in to see how it tastes.
As well as Matcha, they also had my favourite Earl Grey in chiffon cake form.
It was light and fluffy complimented with my favourite whipped cream.
I can't wait to come again but queues are expected on the weekends.

[Review 6457] Another good Thai noodle joint @ 羅勇泰國粉麵 Rayong Thai Noodle

G/F, 7 Hau Fook Street, Tsim Sha Tsui
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/another-good-thai-noodle-joint-e3000682
As well as lots of Vietnamese joints opening, there are more Thai noodle joints around after the success of Samsen.
I was appealed by the bright baby blue decor so went in.
The menu is clear in English and in Chinese and prices are not that expensive at the moment.
I tried the Rayong Assorted noodles which had a bit of everything and chose rice vermicelli to go with it.
The broth was not salty yet you could taste the star anise and other spices, it lacked the unami taste but after adding the sauces on the table the taste was good.
The Hainan style chicken was accentuated by the spicy sauce which had fermented beans in it that gave it the saltiness.
The soup that came with it was the star because you could really taste the coconut as they used old coconuts.
For snacks, we had the Chicken feet which were very acidic for someone who likes it very sour.
Finished with the lime soda and lime tea which were not too sweet.

Sai Ying Pun is a lovely area so I am always around exploring new restaurants.
Crispy Bistro had an interesting name and the the breakfast pairings were not the usual because you can have waffles or crepes.
A strange combination but it means you can have crepes or waffles.
So ordered the crepe one.
The crepe was filled with cheese and bacon so that was a surprise, it was a fun pairing of a sweet crepe with bacon.
The baked beans were quite sweet and taste like Ayam baked beans although I could be wrong as there are so many brands out there these days.
For me, I had the panini because I love hummus, salad and feta cheese.
It was healthy and delicious but I wish there was more hummus.
Finished with a nice hot cup of leafy jasmine tea which was included in the set.

I am a fan of Yvonne's noodle and this second branch is bigger and better with a menu that offers more than just noodles.
Anyway, I decided to try the noodles with minced meat and peas to see if it tastes the same as the hunghom branch.
Here they serve it with chickpeas which are different from the green peas at HH.
The noodles were soft and stodgy.
The other soup noodles were also stodgy and stuck together, otherwise they were both good.
Finished with the ice jelly which was a generous portion.
It was a perfect finish to sooth and cool your palate after eating spicy stuff.
