Smoothie Bowls at [Flamingo Bloom]
2018-06-17 633 瀏覽
As well as tea, vegan drinks, dairy free, sugar free drinks...Flamingo Bloom now has Smoothie bowls!!!
Again, they pair their items with thought which makes it difficult for me to choose as both items seemed good, but luckily the pineapples were sold out so I tried the melon matcha smoothie bowl.
It was nice and refreshing to indulge on as everything is natrual.
I like the way the bananas are frozen and beneath the fruits is this yummy smoothie blended with matcha and banana.
On top, there is granola which is healthy!!!
This was for two people to share but I had it all to myself and there is a smaller version which is not served in the fruit !

Refreshing fruit teas

Elephant Grounds has been around for a while and it was my first time trying them out.
I remember going to the branch on Gough Street for Ice Cream cookies but they were sold.
Anyway, they are now at Pacific Place!!
Tried two fruit teas which were really good especially the one with Passionfruit!!
The other one was blended with golden kiwis which gives it that lovely golden colour and it has pretty ruby pomegranite seeds at the bottom.
Will be back to try the Thai cinammon tea!
If the fruit teas are too fancy, there is a menu lurking at the counter which I didn't discover until I went to order.

A nice joint for Tea at [Tea Library]
2018-06-17 1772 瀏覽
Since [Antique Tea Room] closed down, Lyndhurst Terrace has been lacking a Tea place.
Now [Tea Library] is here!
Hong Kong has a Tea Library and a Dim Sum Library.
The decor is modern and reminds me of [Yumchaa Tea Space in Camden Town].
Jars of Tea Leaves and Fresh Fruit:
As well as Chinese Teas, they have fruit teas and teas topped with Cheese.
I decided to try the Chocolate, Puerh and Cheese after having too many fruit teas lately and because someone said it was a good dessert drink.
Chocolate and Puerh pairing is not new as this restaurant in Cheungshawan had it many years but they didn't rise to fame due to lack of mobile phones and social media in those days.
I was a bit disappointed with my drink as the chocolate and cheese layer wasn't as clearly defined and separated like the ones shown on social media.
The guy suggested to drink it without the straw so that the cheese comes first which I did, but the Chocolate Tea actually came first because the molecular density is higher.
Nevertheless, it was still ok so ended up drinking the cheese layer last.
The chocolate puerh tasted more like water mixed with chocolate powder and the taste of chocolate overpowered the tea.
However, I got the puerh on the aftertaste.
As for the cheese, it was quite salty which was good and you could taste it was real cheese and not fake cream substituted for cheese plus salt like some other places.
The consistency of the cheese layer was very light so it won't be too heavy for the stomach.
So overall, it was quite good and I hope to try the lychee teas another time.

I have always wanted to try Bove but Kwai Fong is a little claustrophobic for my liking and I can't be bothered to queue there.
Spotted BOVE in MK so decided to try it.
I had the original souffle pancake and it was really nice because it wasn't too eggy or buttery like other places but then so far I have only tried Flippers, Laniege and now this one!!
Normally. it comes with sauce and powdered sugar but I requested it without and was really impressed as it tasted good on its own.
Will come back again for other flavours!!
Hopefully they will launch one with apple and whipped cream.

In every Asian Cuisine, you will find beef noodles, be it Pho, Taiwanese Beef Noodles and Chiu Chow noodles.
I have already tried the meat balls at Chiu Ball in TST so this time I went for the Beef Noodles.
I got the tripe, beef brisket and tendons which were so satisfying because everything was so soft and full of flavour.
The yellow chili in the jar was fantastic and I always add a tiny dollop to my noodles to spice it up.
The noodles were so comforting as the broth was strong however the flat rice noodles didn't quite absorb the broth so mixing it with preserved vegetables made it even better.
Next time I will add seaweed to it as the broth was so damn good, hence the seaweed will taste good!

I was captivated by the noodles so came here.
At the entrance, I was not sure what to make of it because there was hotpots, yumcha etc.
Inside the restaurant, you will see lots of Chinese Teaware and Tea pets because the owner used to sell tea.
The menu is simple, you just tick what you want and the drink of your choice.
You can choose either noodles or rice.
For the rice, chose the non spicy broth which is loaded with healthy red dates and wolfberries.
The spicy one would also go well with rice as it is like a mini hotpot but I chose noodles because I love noodles.
I was really happy with my choices because I chose fresh Mountain Yam, Ducks Blood, Vegetables, luncheon ham and Wintermelon.
You get to choose 5 items which was rather generous.
The Wintermelon was surprisingly good because it was really soft and mushy and not hard which means it is undercooked.
The noodles were so good and it was definitely worth paying a few more dollars for these noodles because they hang the broth well.
Not only was the food good, it ended well with the teas especially the Iron Buddha which I kept asking for hot water refills as it was fragrant and strong.
As you can see, they were generous with the tea leaves.
It was good they served the tea in a nice glass cup so you can appreciate and see how much tea leaves are in there.
Next time I will come back for the oolong tea since I tried the Jasmine.
I hope they can keep it consistently good as I plan to come back.

Although this shop has been around since 2002, this was my first visit.
They serve juices, cooked food and fresh fruits.
I spotted some Saturn peaches (also known as donut (or doughnut) peaches) and since I haven't tried them before I got some.
They were $20 for 5, there was a weird mutant one with a mini peach stuck to the main peach so I got that as well since I was curious to see if there would be a mini stone inside it.
The verdict was the ones with red bottoms taste sweeter so pick the red ones and they had a good bite being donut shaped which made it easier to eat.
