Since my last visit, I have always wanted to go back.

Finally had a few places to visit in SKW so went here as well to get my treats.

When I got there, it was great to see a full house with a mix of people from the neighborhood and friends of Rolling congee because the owner is such a lovable person 

I had trouble deciding what to get because there were three new congees that aroused my interest.
1) Intoxicating Charm
2) The Tippler
3)Jeju UncoveredAnyway, I've to go back again to try the other two.

On this visit, I had Intoxicating Charm and Plain Congee.

[Plain Congee + whole Salted Egg]
Congeegasm!! I should of thrown the whole salted egg in the plain congee asap because the yummy salts actually diffuse into the congee.
The salted egg was so damn good and it was oozing with golden oil.

Luckily it didn't ooze out much in the container so I haven't missed a drop.
It tasted like those mooncake egg yolks and the texture is like a duck egg but I'm not sure if it is a duck or chicken egg so I've got to ask on the next visit!!!

Intoxicating Charm:
I knew this was going to be good because I love apple and cinnamon.
When I took the lid off, it was so impressive to see generous big chunks of apple with lots and lots of cinnamon mixed in the congee.
Look at all that Apple!!~!
You also get a side of dried fruits (raisins and candied fruit peel) so if the congee is not sweet enough, it can be added.
The Apple congee tasted so good on its own and I seriously do not recommend to eat it straight away from the joint because it tastes so much better cold as you can taste the apples and cinnamon better.
I definitely recommend this to anyone and people visiting the elderly as it is so tasty and nutritious that it possibly contains a whole apple.
Put it this way, this is a non dairy version of apple and cinnamon rice pudding therefore Vegan/Vegetarian friendly.
Rice pudding is a very common dessert in Europe so I think it can be adapted to nicely to dairy free Sweet congee and or almond milk rice pudding.
Anyway, if you like McDonald's Apple pie then you will like this new congee.

Heeretea is everywhere and I can't escape from it!!!
After trying the one on Lyndhurst Terrace, I came across this one near the Tram terminal.
Had the fruit tea which was packed with fruits.
Very refreshing and thirst quenching on a hot day.
There was passionfruit, grapefruit, lime and watermelon which infused in the tea nicely.
The only thing I didn't like were the passionfruit pips which were sharp and gritty but overall the tea, fruit and sweetness were balanced.
It seems there are more options at this joint compared to the other one I went.

Last time it was soba on the new menu and this time it is Snow Crab.
Snow crab tempura rice bowl:
I love rice and seafood so this was my favourite, the tempura was done nicely and there is some sea salt on the table especially for the tempura.
Adding some to the rice made it even more tasty.
It is impressive that they have used Aomori Rice for this dish and the sushi rolls.
Snow crab with salad and ramen:
If tempura is not your thing on a hot day, the ramen salad is more refreshing especially with the dressing that they give you which is appetizing.

Rice roll with salmon roe and snow crab:
The rice rolls were a surprise because of the crispy pork pieces on top which I thought were pork floss but they were aromatic fried pork crackling which gives it a lovely flavour as well as salmon roe.

Went past and saw Maxim's new cheesy series so decided to get them all.

I had high expectations especially the cheese toast which looked delicious.

Cheese Potato Boat:
The Cheese Potato boat was quite good because there was silky potato in the middle.
Stretch Cheese Toast:
The Stretch Cheese Toast was disgusting and a waste of good cheese.
In the middle it was lovely gooey cheese but the whole thing including the bread and cheese was sweet.
Stretch Cheese Ball:
The cheese ball tasted ok but the texture was a little hard and dry.

While the  queue was never ending for Flipper's, I decided to try the new pancake pies!
There are two flavours:

Basically, it was souffle pancakes sandwiched between 2 puff pastry discs.


It was a fun experience because it was like eating marshmallow sandwiched between two puff pastry pieces without the sweetness.
Personally, I liked the originally while the Lemon one is sweeter and more fancy.

Egg Factory is famous for Japanese style eggs in various of styles but I decided to go there for the souffle pancake.
The cream that came with it was freshly whipped and paired well with the souffle pancakes.
Next time I will request it without the strawberry sauce because it tastes good just with cream and fresh strawberries.

McSorley's Ale House isn't new because it used to be located at the end of Elgin Road and now it is on Staunton Road.
They serve brilliant food there especially curries but unfortunately it was a hot day so I just couldn't hack anything heavy as I would have wanted.
They were really nice and gave us chilled water which was something I desperately needed in order to cool myself down for someone who doesn't sweat.

After having some water, my appetite came back so had the yummy cajun wings, which were crispy and tasty.
The celery sticks were a good balance and went nicely with the dip.
Also had the apple tart which was needed on a hot day.
Will be back for some more hearty food!
