Old school soup joint

Every now and then I like to have some Chinese soup.
Yan Woh Tong has quite a wide variety of choices and that day I tried dong gwai which was quite strong.
In the bowl, there were chunks of meat and herbs which can be eaten as well.
It would help if their menu had English to compete with that green and red franchise!
Next time I plan to try the other soups but sadly, the locations are not that convenient.

Went here for dinner and had their lovely boat noodles.
We had one each because the broth is strong so it was too good to share.
You can choose chicken, original and other noodles like Tomyumkung.
I had the original because it has crispy pig skin, meat balls etc.

Chicken Boat Noodles:
The steak was lean and juicy complimented by their lovely homemade chili sauce.
My favourite was The golden pillow which is basically a crispy bread bowl stuffed with curry and clams.
This was a mini version for one so it was great having it all to myself.
The curry doesn't exactly taste like curry but it was thick and delicious with the bread.

This joint has been attracting crowds since it opened which is the reason why I decided to go a few months later when everything is running smoothly.
The menu is clear and nice.
Inside, the shop is playing a nice selection of cantopop.
For noodles, there are three different broths to choose from: Beef, Spicy or Tomato.
I made a good choice of selecting the plain noodles in beef broth so that I could try the side dishes which included tofu, ducks blood, beef tendon and tripe.
The Sichuan stinky tofu was really good but the texture of the ducks blood was a bit like konjac.
The noodles were good and hung the broth nicely and I am glad I chose the beef broth because by adding some of the Sichuan sauce to the noodles it was basically the Sichuan broth.
The beef tendons were so soft and gelatinous with a good flavour.
My friend had the chilled signature noodles which was tossed in a sweet sesame sauce complimented by wasabi powder.
Finished with some really good drinks.
The Pineapple Tea was natrual and it had pineapple juice in it while the pearls were al dente.
I like the way, they are being environmentally friendly by using metal straws.

At the moment, everyone is looking for a spot to watch the world cup.
Luckily I found out about this new joint as my friend works at the AIA building round the corner.
Before the crowd came, my mission was to try their burgers as food is my priority!!!
I simply love the decor because you can notice it when you come round the corner from How Ming Street.
You will see this neon green logo of a burger on top of a milkshake.

If you come through the other door, you will see a sign pointing you to the left.
(Note picture was taken from the other side)
Inside, it was relaxing and there are lots of plugs and USBs. ports.
What made me feel at home was the London Street Sign which has a meaning.
M1 is the first branch, hence when they have a second branch it will be M2!
During the world cup, there are different burgers each week to represent the different countries.
The trophies are good for selfies.
For burgers, I had The Classic and the Sexy Chick (Chicken).
The classic patty is made of Premium Angus beef which was juicy and tasty and the secret sauce was so good because it was moreish.
It had caramelized diced onions and bacon which made it delicious.
The Sexy Chick had a spicy kick to it and the chicken was lean and tender.
For fries, there were plain, Bolognese and Poutine.
The poutine was definitely my choice to satisfy my gravy and cheese cravings.
Finished with milkshakes because milkshakes is their signature as well as burgers from their logo.
The vanilla one was impressive because there was a strong vanilla taste and it was not too sweet.
The peach tea was a surprise as you could taste some peach juice in it.
After indulging on the food, it was nearly time for the match, my friend had the shisha.
While my friend was having the shisha, the place was getting packed already.
Overall, I had a great time and I shall be back to explore the other eateries at Hung To Centre.

Went past this a while ago but soon forgot about it because the location is at the outskirts between cheung sha wan and sham shui po.
Finally went past it again and got a drink because it was so hot that day.
Got the mint chocolate slushie and it was impressive watching the guy make it because everything was measured eg the milk, flavouring etc so that each drink will taste consistent.
It was blended with ice cream so I really liked it and the mint taste did not taste like toothpaste so it was really good.

Iron Cow on the Island

Finally tried Iron Cow as it was on the Island, before they were only on the Kowloon side.
Either restaurants start off on the Island then make their way across to Kowloon or they start off in Kowloon and pave their way to the Island and the order really does have a difference.
As this one was the latter, I didn't really have expectations on the food.
After trying almost every type of noodle, the beef soup is the best and the beef tendons were soft and gelatinous.
The tomato broth was a bit artificial but the Taiwanese vermicelli is definitely worth requesting for.
The chilled noodles was a bit disappointing because I didn't know it was in sesame sauce like the Shanghai style ones.
The dan dan noodles fared better but I didn't realize it was a dry one without soup.
For drinks, the mint and chocolate one was really cooling and not too sweet.
The osmanthus oolong is recommended if you love tea.

Star of Canton used to my regular place for dimsum when they had a branch at East Point City in 2009.
Since it closed I haven't been for decades.
The branch at Infinitus Plaza is really convenient so went here for dinner.

I was really impressed with the modern tea cups but funnily enough, you still have to wash them!!
Tea and appetizers are charged.
Appetizers:
I was excited to see apple fritters but sadly they have stopped doing it.
In the end, tried the new BBQ pork dish which was really good as they use Iberico Pork which was tender and chunky.
It came with soup which was crammed with Chinese delicacies eg fish maw, abalone and sea cucumber etc.
The braised vegetables in fermented red beancurd sauce was really good but it wasn't braised because you could taste and see that it was stir fried then put into the ceramic pot!
Finished with the fried noodles which was spicy and high in sodium!
