Blue Elephant is another place with a good view if the restaurants at OTE are full.
It is wheelchair friendly.

Started with these cute dumplings as they were instaworthy.

They were very spicy with a strong lemongrass flavour to it.
Next was the crab curry.

The crab curry is worth ordering because you get lots of pure crab meat but it can be quite spicy which called for the drinks and icecream.

Went here randomly as I haven't tried it.
It is a small claustrophobic joint hidden in one of the market lanes in Wanchai.
The menu afternoon tea was really good because they serve it until 19:00 and the dishes are under $50.

I had the sweet and sour fish which turned out really good because the sauce was had a balanced sweet and sour taste.

The noodles were very HK style with a charred metallic wok taste to it.
I should have ordered something else when the guy said their noodles were really good with wokhei as I can't stand that metallic taste.

Went here ages ago in the beginning of the year when this new modern wet market opened.
I was attracted by the cheap afternoon sets but then congee is cheap anyway,

Well, the congee was not to my liking as it was bland and too milky like eating a bowl of PVC glue!

The noodles fares slightly better but they were cold.

The ricerolls were too soft and soggy.
But anyway, you can't really complain for that price.

I don't often eat Korean food because I am quite selective with Korean Food.
At Seoul Recipe, they were different from others because they served Korean Congee.

I love congee and to me I always eat it at room temperature because what is the point of burning your mouth and by the time you have finished you are still hungry as it has all been digested while you were waiting for each spoonful to cool down.
Strangely, HKers do not like congee but Korean congee is very different as it is more flavourful.

I chose the crab which had this fragrant crab tomalley [crab paste] aroma as soon as I took the lid off and you can even see it in the congee.
It was so delicious as the crab paste was rich and strong but not too heavy.
Also tried the bibimbap which was really colourful topped with crispy sweet potato slices, julienne vegetables, purple cabbage, spinach, pickles and healthy purple rice.

It was really tasty when the sauce was mixed it but beware as it is quite spicy.
I am not sure if the rice is meant to be hot but it was cold.
Next time I will go for the Vegetarian Bibimbap.

Previously this joint was want to drink or something like that.
Now it has changed to another drinks joint within a few months.
Normally you find soda floats on the menu hence I was attracted by their tea floats.
There are four tea bases to choose from.
I chose oolong tea with the icecream.
When it came, it looked like milk tea with icecream in it.
I was expecting plain oolong tea with icecream floating.
Perhaps the presentation would be awful hence they mixed the oolong base with milk.
The taste was ok, it was just likes your usual tea but lighter and then it becomes creamier with icecream.

I have never ventured to CKC before but only went because of food le parc.
food le parc is a haven for peace and quiet on the weekends as the office people have fled.
It is a little busier on Sundays when people are out and you get some curious people venturing here.

Had the salmon and scrambled egg wrap which was surprisingly good, inside it was filled with minced tuna mixed with mayonnaise which gives it a creamy flavour while the scrambled egg is filling.
Finished with the Cinnamon danish to complete my lunch.
Again, it was flawless as it was not too crunchy with a nice chew flavoured by the sugar and cinnamon.
For drinks, I had my favourite Earl Grey Chocolate Frap.
My friend said the strawberry iced lemonade was too sweet but he didn't know you could request the sugar levels.

If I knew my fave chef was there, I would have checked it out earlier.

Only found out at the end when we were leaving.

Had the lamb fried rice which was so damn good as there was lots of cumin and the sauce really enhanced the flavours.
On the menu, it said pesto sauce but it tasted different and far better than anticipated as it tasted like the sauce for the thunder tea rice at Sinmeis.
It was interesting though to see the sauce dish literally on top of the rice.
The bottom of that dish better be clean!!
Tried the avocado fries, but unfortunately the avocado was a bit raw.
I was expecting to bite into creamy soft avocado.

Finished with the mocktail which is to my liking and I love that huge Martini glass behind it.


I didn't have this but my friend had it!
