There is always something to remember at Congress Plus.
This time is was oysters and desserts.
As you can see, the oysters are fresh and glistening so I had quite few since I have been deprived of fresh oysters.
They were quite salty which can be balanced by the lemon but I liked them just how they were.
The dessert section was impressive as there were so many items that I liked especially the Earl Grey Madeleine dipped in Chocolate.
It had a strong Earl Grey flavour.
I also liked the Banana caramel pudding which was more like a cake with caramel on the side for you to drizzle.
Quite puzzled why it is called a pudding as the texture was more like a light sponge.
Then there were these pretty jellies with edible pansies and gold flakes which were mesmerizing and too beautiful to eat.
Anyway, there is the usual seafood and they even had lobster tail robatakayi which is a must for Hong Kongers!!!!
To summarize, I was glad to catch up on my oyster deprivation, Indian curry and desserts!!!

[Review 6753] Other than just green goodness @ 京林屋 Kyo Hayashiya

This joint is famous for matcha but I decided to try other items instead.
To be honest, I actually preferred the other items as they were quite good.
The strawberry softserve which I was expecting to be artificial tasted like strawberry froyo with a natrual tartness to it.
The pancakes were confusing as I thought it was different tea flavoured pancakes when it was the tea you get with it.
My favourite was the hojicha Swiss roll which was fragrant while the Swiss roll was moist and airy.
On the savoury side, I had the avocado salmon toast but unfortunately the avocado was too raw.
Finished with the matcha drink which was topped with a scoop of strawberry icecream.

The food is always good at Greyhound Cafe.
Since there first restaurant in Hong Kong, there are so many more branches now.
At the new Elements branch, there is an exclusive live noodle bar station where all the noodles are cooked.
There are so many classic noodles that you will find on the menu.
I liked the creative one with the udon but my favourite had to be the boat noodle style noodles which had a strong broth.
There is a fuss free pure crab meat curry that is only available in Hong Kong.
I found it quite spicy and moreish as it was just silky crab meat and curry sauce.
Will return.

[Review 6751] The Legend @ 豪園麵家 House of Ho Yuen Noodle Cuisine

豪園麵家 House of Ho Yuen Noodle Cuisine

Shop 21, Lions Rise Mall, 8 Muk Lun Street, Wong Tai Sin

WTS can get quite crowded during dinner time, so went here to avoid the crowd.
Ho Yuen Noodles has been in business for ages and they used to be located somewhere else.
I have never heard of HY Noodles but funnily enough, I tried their Food Truck first in Central for the single boned chicken wings.
Had dinner here and the food is good as well.
Sometimes, I just want some simple food like Sweet and Sour and Curry.
So had the fish in tomato sauce and curry beef.
The fish was crispy in rich tomato sauce with lots of fresh tomatoes in it.
The curry was even better as it was thick just like the ones in UK so it was delicious with rice.
The pineapple ribs were a bit too bony for me one but still ok.
Finished with the soup which was very satisfying as it was msg free with a strong dried vegetable taste.

There are two Oppas in TST, Angry Oppa and Oppa Coffee Bar.
Oppa Coffee Bar was hidden in one of the lanes and it took me quite a while to find it.
It reminded me of Korean Street in London, where all the Korean Eateries are as the staff spoke good English.
The menu is slightly different so I chose the items that are not available at Angry Oppa.
As it was lunch, had the clams soup with rice which was filling.
The star of the show was the cheesy omelette which was covered in julienne cabbage.
The pairing of cheese and egg was just delicious.
The rolls were really fragrant drizzled in delicious sesame oil, it was sinfully rich with crab tomalley but the crunchy carrots and cucumber helped balance that.

[Review 6749] Dreamy gelato @ Dood Bottega Gelateria

Shop G13, G/F, 160-188 Wan Chai Road, Wan Chai

I am so glad I stumbled across this gelato shop on the way to dinner.
The gelato wasn't really labelled so I had to ask but they were really nice and gave out samples.
There was a good variety of flavours like black sesame, white sesame and mango which locals can relate too.
For me, I fell in love with the caramel because it was sweet with a strong caramel as well as vanilla taste.
You could visually see vanilla seeds in it.
The texture was smooth and elastic which was impressive but not as elastic as Turkish icecream.
Also tried earl grey and chocolate which are sorbets and not gelatos.
Strangely I found the earl grey sweeter than the caramel as it was syrupy.
As well as 3italiani doing chocolate sorbets, you can also get it here.
There was a unique cheese and tomato gelato which was quite nice because it was topped with tomato jam and there was a great savoury twist to it.
Will definitely return if they launch any more exciting flavours.

Discovered this tea shop on the corner.
It was cute and pink with lots of choices but as it was hot I opted for plain tea which quenches thirst better.
I asked for it without sugar so it turned out just the way I liked it.
The Jasmine was strong with a nice slight bitter sweet aftertaste.
The size was good too especially when you are on the go.
Will come back and try the sparkling series.
The only complaint was the bin outside with cig butts which was polluting the place.
