When Deserve Better Toast & Coffee first opened, the menu didn't offer as much as it does now.
I am glad I didn't go until recently as you can see how they have improved since they opened.

A fellow foodie posted a picture in 2017 where I couldn't really see the cheese or cabbage but it is evidently there now.

All their toasts come with EGG, CABBAGE and STRAWBERRY SAUCE as a basic and then you choose a filling eg tomato, burger, ham etc.
The burger is the signature but I have an affection for spam.

When it came, the toast was heavily toasted hence it was quite crispy without much softness but while I was eating it, I realized the it was quite crucial in holding the toast together.

There is a fair bit of finely chopped cabbage in the toast which slowly shrivels up due to the heat of the toast which was a bummer for me because it was too hot for my hands to hold.

Anyway, managed to munch it slowly even though I wanted to eat it faster because it tasted good.
The strawberry sauce which sounded weird strangely tasted really good with the spam just like the jam and meatballs you get at IKEA.
It worked because the strawberry sauce was not too sweet or overwhelming.

Then the big slab of square egg you get was delicious as it had a few pieces sweetcorn in it and the texture was more like steamed egg with a slight panfried surface.
Overall, the toast was impressive as it didn't have any charred metallic taste on any of the ingredients considering that they have been grilling stuff all day.

Finished with the [Strawberry S'mores] which was another surprise because it looked quite sweet with the nutella on the bottom but it was balanced by the pretty red strawberry slices.
I was quite worked up thinking how to eat it then I discovered that they had already sliced the toast into six pieces which was very useful.

Anyway, I can't wait to come again soon as it is very affordable and I guess I deserve another toast NOW before they increase their prices .

There are not many Spanish restaurants in Tinhau so Rojo is a good option.
Had a few drinks before dinner.
The mocktails were healthy and delicious especially the pineapple banana and lime which is just juice and no added sugars.
Also had the sangria which had a nice cinammon touch to it and it was like mulled wine which gives you that festive feeling.
[Scallop Carpaccio]
Everything was in harmony when the pomelo and scallop were eaten together because the pomelo made it appetizing and refreshing.
[Truffle Bikini]
The bikini was to my liking as the butter wasn't too overwhelming and I could taste the cheese, ham and truffle.
[Jamon Serrano Toast]
Delicious bites of toast that taste good when you have ham on top of tomato.
[Suckling Pig]
I liked the apple puree that was paired with it because pork and apple always go well together.
The skin was crisp and the meat was moist and tender just like chicken.
[Seafood Paella]
My favourite dish as I need carbs!!!!

[Churros]
I loved the churros as they were coated in delish sugar and cinammon.
They were so good that I didn't really need the chocolate sauce.

Previously tried Brew Bros in Sheung wan where I had the Cascara Tea.
On this visit, the drink I had was memorable.
I was just about to order the Earl Grey when I spotted the Milky Oolong so I asked what it was and the guy showed me the tin and let me sniff it.
When I sniffed it, there was a milky creamy scent which was really nice hence I ordered it.
After I paid, I walked off to look at other stuff as he said it would take a few minutes.
I was really surprised he came out to bring me the drink as this place is a food court and not a restaurant.
Anyway, back to the tea, I loved it because of the milky scent, it gives it a milky aroma just like those caramel teas that do not contain caramel yet has this sweet aroma.

Ho-gwang is famous for Chinese puddings but as I was thirsty I tried the $18 lingzi water.
It was bitter with a sweetness.

The taste was a little different from what I had imagined because it wasn't mushroomy and I just didn't like the sweetness.

Went to Taihing for lunch as it was close to the library.
To be honest, I was attracted to the shop opposite because of the pretty pastel colours but somehow they said we could sit in this restaurant as they serve the food from over there.
Anyway, the interior of this place was also nice as there were lots of pictures of Hong Kong.
The only thing that was not in harmony was the cloth covering the kitchen as it was Japanese which confused me earlier as this is the first thing you will see when you look through the front door so I thought it was Japanese.
The light above was also nice which can extend into a full circle if there was room but currently looks like an arachnid.
Chose the egg with roast pork.
When it came, it was exactly like the one I had at Shunhing.
The whole thing is quite confusing as this could be the one from Shunhing as on the corner of the menu, it says shunhing kitchen.
Judging by the name, I don't think I have tried what this restaurant specializes in as it is meant to be a private kitchen.
Apart from that, the egg and roast pork was really good especially the pork which was lean yet soft and meaty.
The soy sauce that came with it was sweet loaded with spring onions.
Anyway, I haven't been to TH for a while and it has changed a lot.

Went here for a quick lunch with friends.
There is so much to offer on the menu with mix and match noodles, rices etc.
Ordered the signature noodles which come in a sweet and sour white broth.
The broth was really good so I finished the whole bowl of noodles.

The turmeric rice was a bit oily and the utensils are rather sticky.
Apart from that, everything else was good.

There are so many new Vietnamese restaurants that opened this year.
La taste has been around for years with a branch in Central.
Ordered the Pho which was quite good as it did not have that sweetness to it.
The broth was quite strong so I really liked it.
The vermicelli was topped with delicious prawn cakes and Vietnamese sausage.
I don't know why but young lotus roots are on most Vietnamese menus so ordered that too.
It was tangy and sweet.
Finished with a refreshing pineapple soda.
As well as good food, the Vietnamese Coffee was a brilliant end to the meal as there was a nice roasted flavour to it.
After adding the condensed milk and finding the right balance in taste, the coffee was damn good.
