Previously tried to try this in MK but the queues were long and they were sold out of the apple when I finally did try to try it.They now have a bigger shop in CWB and it's been here for a quite a while but I still hadn't tried it because there are three traffic light obstacles.

Anyway, finally tried it as I was in the area and it was 3pm when they just opened hence there was no queue.

Tried the apple one which ended up too sweet so the original one is probably the best because I don't really need the icecream.
To be honest, I thought the cream stole the show because it was quality cream which complemented the pancake nicely.
Unfortunately I Love You Dessert Bar has competition now with the new dessert bar opposite.

Discovered this restaurant on Eatigo because the flank steak is half priced if you book through it.
Ordered a steak and rice which both come with the salad bar.
The salad selection was good.
Next was the soup which was complemented by some nice bread.

The steak was the star of the show and it was surprisingly tasty.
Ordered the American Beef Flank (8oz) which was served on a sizzling grill.
If I had known I would have ordered the rare to compensate for the extra grilling while it was on the grill.

Each piece of meat was fresh and I loved the abundance of myoglobin that was dripping from it.
The chips were perfect and not over done.
Although they gave you truffle mayonnaise, the vinegar from the salad bar was the best on the chips which you will only understand if you are English.
It was a bonus they had Himalayan Pink Salt on the table.

The salmon fried rice had a Japanese touch to it with a strong sweet savory soy sauce flavour to the rice.

Finished with cheese cake and tea.
It was comforting that they had a choice of teas to choose from like Earl Grey as it gives a satisfactory ending to the meal.

Embrace the Golden Era with dishes from the past

I am so glad that Cafe on the PARK are currently serving the [Embrace the Golden Era] themed buffet.
Tourists and locals can take a trip back to the past and try different dishes.

To begin with, I had the Devil Fish Skin which is trending at the moment.
These were freshly fried fish skin tossed with evilicious salted egg yolk which taste so much better fresh.

Taking a trip down memory lane, there was Steamed Bun with Lobster and Abalone which was fluffy and soft with a big chunk of lobster inside and abalone.

Next were the rice rolls with a luxurious twist, these were steamed rice rolls with lobster and XO sauce.

At the noodle station, you will find “doggie noodles” with barbecued Kurobuta pork.
It was really good as it appeared to be healthier with less oil complimented by the aromatic crispy dried shrimps.

Moving on to the dessert counter, you will find retro Hong Kong snacks like traditional candy and coconut wrap, hand-pulled dragon’s beard candy and golden sweet egg twists.
At the entrance, they had my favourite Movenpick mint chocolate icecream and a healthy juice selection.

I definitely recommend having some golden moments at Café on the PARK after taking a stroll at Kowloon Park nearby.

Survival of the fittest

Again another trend has hit HK and its drinks this time!!!Just like the froyo craze and snowflake ice, there are more people joining the drinks game because of its high profitability.
Not that I care but it is entertaining to observe this hype and then it all coming down like a stock crash so it is the survival of the fittest.
Drinks are relatively easier to succeed because they cost around $19-44 so anyone with loose change in their pockets is going to get a drink willingly without feeling broke.
I was lured here by the cheese musk melon.
 0 讚好

The average drink costs $30 but this one cost a whopping $42 so it better be good.
Luckily it was good as the melon was sweet and natural.
The cheese cap was not too overwhelming and it was like drinking a less guilty version of an ice float.
Will return if they come up with something worth trying but I am tempted to come back for this drink again because I love musk melon.

I love CheckCheckCin's rice water drinks.
The new joint in TKO has replaced Dolci 2/3.
Anyway, drinks are reasonably priced and I'd rather be drinking this than syrup teas.
Since they opened in Sheungwan, there are more drinks to offer.
I had the roasted tea with soymilk and rice water.
It definitely gave me a surprise as you could taste all the elements eg soy milk, roasted rice and tea but it was delicate and not strong.
Definitely a good drink anytime of the day.

[Review 6862] Cute joint with affordable Modern dishes @ 茶米 Sun's Bazaar

Discovered Sun's Bazaar as there was a long queue for tea.
It turns out that drinks were half priced so I queued to get one.
The fact that it was half priced meant that I could experiment with different things like adding the milk cap and two different pearls and it didn't cost a bomb.
The total was only $22!!!!
I am not a fan of pearls but the taro and Sichuan are unique.
The Sichuan ones really do contain pieces of Sichuan pepper that give the pearls a slight crunch as well spiciness and the taro pearls taste like the dessert mochi balls.
Returned a few days later to try the food as there were so many interesting dishes.
I assumed this was a Taiwanese joint as there was quite an emphasis on the KIKI brand.
However on the menu, you will find Hainan Chicken, Rice rolls and even congee.
The decor was young and cute.
Here was what we had:
The ricerolls are different as they are served scrunched up because they are made by pushing the sheet to one side.
I liked the one topped with oyster and there was one that came in beef soup that is interesting to try.
On the Hong Kong dish side, they had the popular crispy chow mein topped with vegetables in gravy.
I was surprised the congee was Cantonese style as I thought it was going to Taiwanese.
But anyway, it was comforting with chunks of chicken in it.
Next was the Sichuan Dan Dan noodles that star KIKI Noodles.
[A pack of KiKi noodles]
[Sichuan Dan Dan noodles]
The meat sauce and broth had a good spicy kick to it.
Moving on to a slight Modern Chinese claypot rice, it was Spanish Chorizo and spare ribs rice served kamameshi style.
Chorizo and rice were delicious together.
Last but not least was the Hainan Chicken, a secret recipe from Old Bazaar Kitchen which is why this restaurant is called Sun's Bazaar!!

Super long baguette!!

There is another branch of Aroi Thai at Wongtaisin but this branch seems to be more down to earth and the food is slightly different.
I love baguettes so I was lured by the long baguette stuffed with curry.
The noodles looked good as I saw someone eating it as the broth looked dark and strong.
Anyway as I love baguettes I got the long baguette!!!
It was about 60cm long.
The baguette was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle stuffed with eggy curry that is not spicy and crammed with lots of seafood.
Definitely great for sharing but I had half because it was that good.
Shared the other items though, the crispy wings stuffed with glutinous rice and the squid salad.
The wings were interesting, the sticky rice in the middle tasted like the Chinese style ones with preserved sausage.
As for the salad, it was tangy with a spicy punch.
Finished with the blue coconut puddings served in little cute metal mugs.
The butterfly drink was a bit sweet so I would advise asking it to be less sweet when ordering.
