I rarely go to Ngau Tai Kok but since Uselect has opened a big store opposite the station I go there more often.
Before shopping, went here for quick lunch as it was nearby.

From the outside, it didn't look like a Chinese cart noodle bar but when you get inside, there is an open kitchen.
There are two sides, one side is like a noodle bar while other side has tables.
The menu:

I am not a fan of soup noodles so the tossed noodles had to be ordered.
The XO sauce is on the table so you can add as you please.
I put a bit too much so it was quite spicy!~!
The rest of the toppings were just how they should taste.

For the soup noodles, it was also good, my friend had the tofu puffs and squid balls which soaked the broth nicely.

The star of the show had to be the preserved egg, the yolk part was thick and delicious that it was so good mixing i with my noodles!

The squids was in this thick sauce so they were heavily flavoured, unfortunately, they were a bit too chewy.

Casa Fina Seafood & Oyster Bar is a great place for fine dinners, it is located convenient on Yun Ping Road.
We sat on the corner on the left so it was nice and secluded away from the noise so if you want good privacy and a quiet place for dinner then request for the corner at the left of the entrance.
There is a seafood bar where you can see what types of oysters are available that night.
At the moment, they are doing some oyster promotion which you can check out on the menu.
The first starter we had was the Uni with Papaya, it was presented in a nice triangular shape with the papaya salsa in the middle.
The sweet papaya was topped with salsa which made it refreshing while the uni was rich and creamy.
Next was the Dungeness Crab Cakes, they were soft and delicate in the middle while the coating was crispy.
The Lobster Bisque was a bit strong for my liking.

The Whole Squid Risotto was different, it was a whole squid as you can see stuffed with risotto which was creamy with a right texture and not chalky.


Finished with the Chocolate fondant which I left to my mind as she is more of a dessert person.

Discovered this Taiwanese noodle joint as it stood out from the rest with its wooden shop front.
Inside, it had a matching theme.
The menu had all the usual suspects eg beef noodles, mince rice etc.
They even had sidra imported from Taiwan.

For appetizers, started with the Taiwanese pork blood cake which was chewy and glutinous.

For noodles, had the trio and the beef noodles.
Both broths were strong and beefy.
I felt that the broth tasted like bovril with a touch of boiled down beef taste.
As for the noodles, you get to choose thin or thick so chose the thin so that it absorbs the beef broth.
Overall, I really liked their broth but the noodles didn't really absorb the flavours.
The advantage of going during lunch is that the snacks are charged at a cheaper price.

There are so many hole in the wall Thai Joints that are really good and this is one of them.
Luckily this one has a table so that you can dine there which makes it perfect in this weather.
The menu has ENGLISH which is really helpful in SSP.
Started with the Thai chicken feet which had a really good tangy and fiery kick to it.

They were almost 80% boneless so less wastage.
Next was the mince with rice, it had a good ratio of beans to meat, again it had a good fierness but it was also sweet to balance it.
Beneath it was fragrant Jasmine rice that really came through even though it was spicy.

I am not a fan of pork neck but I liked it here because it had a great charcoal aroma from the  grill and it was not too fatty.

Last but not least were the skewers, the chicken was damn good as it was tender and moist with the same grilled aroma.

Will definitely come back again when I am in the area.

Although there are too many drinks joint around, there are a few that I will go to.
I willingly paid $45 for this melon drink because I like melon.
At this other drinks joint I saw them selling it for $68 as it was some super melon from Japan.
At Cha Long, there were some hits and misses in my experience.
The starfuit drink was good but this was slightly a miss for me as I couldn't really taste the melon and the cheese cap that I ordered additionally was not really needed as it wasn't that fresh.

The drinks are quite good at Heeretea so I have been to quite a few different branches

.So far, this is the worst branch, the staff seem disinterested in serving customers.
I was practically at the counter but the guy was just ignoring me until I spoke.
Luckily my melon cheese drink still tasted as good as the other branches,
There was a natural melon taste that was finely blended with the icy slush and the cheese cap on top gave it a smooth finish.
Will definitely come back for other drinks but I will go to a different branch.

Tried to get a drink from  here before but they just serve mainly floral teas which I dislike as I just don't like any flowers.
Anyway, spotted the mountain green tea which was the only non floral one that the guy suggested.
As they had different flavoured pearls I decided to add them to the drink.
The guy then gave me a note which I had to walk somewhere else to pay.
Unfortunately, the note didn't specify what drink so I didn't know if he got my order correct.

When  I got my drink,  there was a weird rose taste which I did not like.
The pearls were chewy and sweet.
It turns out that I ordered the tea with rose and pearls which was not what I wanted.
