To be honest, HK doesn't serve much good pho but the pho scene is improving as a few good ones have come up.
I am glad to say that I like this so I hope they can keep it consistent.
The menu has a nice variety especially the drinks.

There were so many drinks that were tempting: avocado smoothie, Vietnamese drip coffee, coconut coffee smoothie and the pickled plum.
As I have tried many avocado smoothies before, I decided to try the other drinks.
The drip coffee was really good and the ratio of condensed milk and coffee had a a good balance so I loved it.
The coconut coffee smoothie is another cooling drink.
A good treat on a hot day which you drink slowly as it gets slushy.

It was hard deciding on the salty plum or the salted lemon but they said the plum was a cherry colour so I tried it because it was different.
I was so glad I tried this because it was very different yet punchy in taste.
The plum was almost lipstick red which is so different to those brown/green ones you find in Japanese wines.

Started on the chicken wings which were surprisingly moreish.
To be honest, I didn't have any expectations as I was expecting lemongrass but they were spicy and the caramelized onions on top did wonders.

The avocado rolls were creamy but the wrap was a little chewy that night.

The star of the show [Monster Pho] did not disappoint, not the best but almost the best.
I loved the light and clear soup which I couldn't stop drinking, the pho was silky but not elastic.

Overall, most of the dishes impressed me so I hope to come back again in the future.

Tagged along with a foodie to try this dimsum joint located in a cooked food market hidden in yaumatei.
When you arrive, you will see lots of media and press cuttings at the entrance.
Whether you are a fan of dimsum or not, it is a good experience and the place is quite clean.
Everything is freshly made.
Winter is the best time to try it as the place isn't too hot.

Jollibee is famous for fried chicken which I always get but decided to have something different that day.
On this visit, had the hot chocolate, hot dog and coke float.
The hot chocolate is the best ever with a good smooth chocolate taste and a lovely frothy cap and it doesn't have the annoying powdery texture.
The hot dog was heavier than expected especially the sauce on the top but it was still good.
Tried the coke float because I wanted to try the softserve.
The softserve was quite nice as it wasn't too sweet.

This is the second branch of BG with it's first in Jordan. The shop in Jordan is much smaller compared to this concept store and they serve teas here as well. My first visit to BG in Jordan wasn't impressive as the selections were quite Asian such as the filled bagels with pork floss so I didn't have any expectations at this branch. Got the scallion prawn roe sweet soft bread.
It was soft as stated with a lovely scallion aroma, every bite was quite good with scallion and dried prawn roe. The only complaint was the scallion was a bit oily and somehow I go the shats later that day so I wonder if it was the prawn roe because they go bad easily.

Fantastic pre Diwali evening at Gaylord

Went to Wine and Dine recently and had the Kathi rolls from the Gaylord Stall which made me crave for Indian food again.

After the event, met up with some friends and had pre Diwali dinner at Gaylord!
There were so much options and they even have a Jain Vegetarian Menu at the back.

Started with Masala papaddoms to nibble on.

For appetizers had the Hara Bhara Kebab which were tasty spinach and lentil cutlets.

Next were the Peri Peri Prawns which were fresh and springy served sizzling .
My favourite had to be the Tandoori Gunpowder Potatoes which were soft and silky potatoes marinated in yoghurt.
Not sure if I am right but I seemed to taste some delicious bits of curd on top.

The Bhindi Masala is another classic dish.
The Mock duck Makhanwala (no onion and garlic) JAIN was amazing, it was delicious soya chunk soaked in Makhanwala gravy best complimented with fluffy rice.
For carbs had the Lamb dum biryani which is served in a claypot which keeps it warm and fragrant.
Each mouthful was delicious with finely shredded pieces of lamb.
To compliment the curry had the luxurious Cheese Truffle Naan which was popular with everyone.
For Diwali, had Mithais (sweets) which were surprisingly nice because they were nutty and similar to energy bars.
The sweetness wasn't as sweet as I imagined so it was a good finish to dinner slowly nibbling at it with drinks.

Not many people order the Jaljeera but this is my favourite drink with cumin and they serve it strong.

Ever since I saw pictures of this green rice I had to try it.
I think OMG are the first to serve truffle chicken with scallion rice but Coco Kitchen is now serving it too.
Tried the Coco Kitchen version at both branches and it was so good so that I had to try the original at OMG for a comparison.

The menu is quite confusing because the latest review in November has a picture showing that it costs $48 but another review in October shows the price is $54.
Went in November and it was priced $54 so I guess I should have tried it earlier before they raised prices.

Anyway, I was shockingly disappointed as the chicken came straight from the fridge so it was icy cold and the scallion oil rice was tasteless compared to Coco Kitchen.
The spoons they gave you were not ergonomic or perhaps Chinese people have big gobs.

At Coco Kitchen, they used white meat yet it was still much tender and silkier than the dark meat used at Oh My goose.
But saying that the quality of the TST branch of Coco Kitchen was much better than the Prince Edward Coco Kitchen but OMG failed to taste better than both branches of Coco Kitchen.
LoYe Dimsum which is now closed used to serve the same scallion rice with black garlic.
