According the MTR Ad, there is a new bigger and better branch of HD in Central.

They have cakes and other sweet treats.

If you're at HD, you've gotta have ice cream and the hotpot is great because they come in mini scoops so you can try more flavours.
There is the regular set or you can choose the cute theme featuring LINE FRIENDS.Tried the regular set as it also had Japanese Sweets.

I was surprised how moreish the icecream was after dunking it in chocolate.

The mini scoops make them more appealing and the Japanese sweets were also good but they didn't really need dipping in chocolate.

As well as chocolate fondue, they also have the Starry Romance and Joy of the World which are available at selected branches.




If Ice cream is not your thing, they also do Chocolate gift boxes!

Went here randomly.
Had the croque monsieur sandwich and pumpkin feta cheese quiche.
The quiche was too soggy and sweet for  my liking and you couldn't really taste the feta.
The croque monsieur fared better but not as cheesy as hoped.
It was crammed with a lot of decent ham.
The items were not too salty but they left me thirsty all afternoon.

Decided to try the thick noodles in soy sauce because it looked good.
Unfortunately ordered the wrong one with the balls as I only wanted to try the noodles.
The balls are just processed meat which I don't really eat and taste weird.
Anyway, the noodles were really bitter laid on top of chunky radishes so that they don't have to put much noodles in the box.
The drink fared better as it did not contain sugar so it was nice and healthy.
Was given the wrong change but my friend dealt with the cashier as I couldn't be arsed to talk to her.

Discovered this restaurant because I was eating at the famous garden bakery next door.This joint seems to be old as well because it says since 1956.
The decor and everything looks new so it could have moved from another place or refurbished.
Food in general is not that expensive being located in SSP.
Fish and Chips is a bargain for $30 if it tastes good!
Here it comes seasoned with seaweed powder and you get some orange sauce which I guess is thousand island sauce.
I only put salt and vinegar, lemon and ketchup on my fish and chips so did not touch that stuff.
The chips were ok and not overdone.
The fish was battered in breadcrumbs so it was nice and crispy on the outside and the texture of the fish was soft and jelly like but quite good in HK terms.
Even though it was too soft for its own good you could see the flakes.
The Hainan chicken was complimented with rice that had a hint of coconut.
Finished with an ice cream float and a tea a with red beans which my friend had.
Will probably be back to try other stuff if I am in the area again.

I was checking out the rude dessert shop next door and discovered this joint on the way.They basically sell fruits as well as juices.
Decided to get the fruit combo for $30 which was melon and orange.
I don't know why but it took quite a while to come so perhaps the fruit was freshly cut to order.
Anyway, the taste was ok but not much melon taste because the orange was too prominent.

There are so many drinks joints this year and Thailax stood out because they serve Thai drinks and they even have branches in Macau!

As well as Thai drinks, they have the latest trend such as brown sugar and other popular ingredients such as Taro.
There was so much choice on the menu but in the end I decided to get the featured brown sugar milk with peach tree gum.


Peach tree gum is good for collagen and I like it because the texture is just like jelly.
The brown sugar they use is also a good one as it is very comforting with no strange aftertaste so it was all good.

Spotted this joint a while ago but it was too hot to try in the summer.

I was in the area so finally tried the hot chocolate.
The hot chocolate is very different to the chocolate drinks available which are made with cocoa powder or chocolate syrup.

The drinks here are made from the cacao bean which has a stronger and fruity taste if you can imagine coffee straight from the beans.


The smell is very different so be warned.
Basically it was like drinking a chocolate version of coffee and it is quite bitter and fruity at the same time.
After drinking it, my pulse went so the caffeine in it must be strong.
Will be back to try the cold chocolate as the milk content in that is different and the staff here are really friendly.
