Cheung Sha Wan has changed quite a bit over the decades.
There are more newly built residential flats and new offices in the area raising the living and dining standards, hence more restaurant chains and expensive restaurants are coming to the area.

Heya Crystal and Heya Aqua are relatively new developments in the area.
At Heya Crystal, you will find fairwood and saizeyria on the ground floor, while on the first floor you will find Lime Fish and Yuyu Sushi.
I was lured by the yakitori and sushi as they had both.


If you order four or more different skewers you get 20% off.
Started with the snapper soup which was creamy and had a lovely umami aftertaste.

For sushi, I had the lean cut tuna sushi which was ruby red in colour, also umami to the max when dipped in soy sauce.

Finished with the yakitori which was glistening and smelling good when it arrived.


The chicken ones were rather sweet and my favourite one was the Iberico pork which was lean and tender complimented by the baby sweetcorn.
Will be back as I regretted not getting the salmon roe warship.

There are now two branches of this!

One on either side of Hong Kong being Sai Wan Ho and K town.
They serve the usual Chinese food like noodles and wontons etc.
Ordered the wonton noodles tossed in sauce and it was really good the wontons and noodles were served separately.
The noodles were the usual laced with lots of oyster sauce and it had quite a bit of alkaline taste.

The wontons were springy with lots of prawns in it and a fragrant sesame oil aroma.

The fried chicken leg was golden with a lovely crispy skin while the chicken was tender and silky in the middle!

Came back for curry because I loved it last time I tried it.
The curry here is fruit based with chunks of apple etc.
As they don't offer plain curry I had to get the set which came with seafood and salad.
It was just as good as the previous visit but the temperature of the curry wasn't as hot as before but I will come back as I love the food here.

I have always wanted to try this joint but I keep coming at the wrong time when they are closed.Anyway finally made it but made the wrong choice as the menu was confusing.
Ended up getting the mountain yam congee because I didn't see the other items like mock shark fin soup.

The congee had a nice smell and the texture was very viscous as it had mountain yam.
In terms of taste it was very bland but you could taste some mock meat in it which was tasteless yet you could smell it.
There were other bits of vegetables in it like sweetcorn and mushrooms.

Went here after dining at Yuyu, frankly I should of left because the lady at the reception was rather rude.Anyway, decided to dine there anyway as I was already there.
There was so much used tissue from the previous table and this was just one piece.

I was quite surprised that I had to place my order asap without having to press the order button because she was literal standing by the table demanding me to order.
The table on my right kept complaining their table was smelly so asked the be-itchy waitress to wipe it and the be-itchy waitress just gave them a tissue and walked off.

My semifreddo desserts arrived quickly but both needed some time defrosting as they came straight out of the freezer.

The hazelnut semifreddo was really good as the hazelnut was prominent and there was a layer of meringue in the  middle as well as cream.

The chocolate semifreddo was strong and rich heavily on the cocoa but not as sweet.

Both were good with coffee and tea which are available at the drinks bar for an extra HKD13.
Saizeryria is good in general but not this branch.

There are so any Kingyos in Hong Kong but then there just as many other tea shops in Hong Kong.

Kingyo doesn't stand out in the city because there are too many tea joints but it stood out in Po Lam because there are only a few tea shops.

It is located on the 2nd floor with a small seating area.

Tried the tieguanyin tea and the tieguanyin brown sugar milk tea with bubbles.

The tieguanyin brown sugar milk tea with bubbles was surprisingly good because the tieguanyin flavour makes it different compared to plain milk or other tea bases.
The only complaint were the pearls which were just too soft for my liking.
They use crushed ice instead of ice cubes.

Gaia Veggie has been in Hong Kong for years with lots of branches.
I went to Gaia a few years ago for vegetarian food.The branch at Mira is relatively new compared to the other branches so went here for dinner.
There is a good range on the menu so you can opt from Traditional Chinese to Sashimi.

Started off with the sans alcool which is non alcoholic beer and it tasted exactly the same as the real thing even the way it poured out with the viscous bubbles.

That night we had a good range of dishes.
My pick was the mock Peking duck pancakes.

The mock beef rolls were tasty covered in sauce filled with vegetables in the middle.

We had a good deal of vegetables too which were not pretending to be mock meat so all were easy to digest.

My favourite was the baked vegetables in taro and coconut mash and the vegetables in beancurd soup.

The crispy tofu treats were delicious, they were fried inside out tofu puffs filled with creamy tofu filling.

Also had the Chinese Taro pudding as it is getting near new year.
It had chunks of taro and peanuts in it.

They also had Sichuan preserved eggs which were golden and scrumptious.

Finished with the cashew dessert soup which had a comforting sweetness and a thick texture.


I am not quite used to these liquid desserts but I would have loved it cold as it tastes like thick and creamy cashew milkshake.
Will come back again as there is just too much on the menu to try.
