[Review 7259] Haagen Daz kicked out for Tea! @ Comebuytea

Previously this spot used to be Haagen Daz but now it is a tea joint and HD has moved to a smaller joint round the corner!Tea is the trend these days and it costs cheaper than HD icecream while making tea will take longer than scooping out icecream so I guess they will have to have a good turnover.
But then their rent could be cheaper than HD as the mall is trying to attract more people by changing the brands about.

Anyway, ComeBuy Tea has suddenly decided to boom everywhere with some branches at top locations such as the GF of TOP Mall in MK.

I was captivated by the large glass cylinders of tea leafs and the machinery which is similar to coffee machinery but didn't try it because the machinery was rather noisy.
Finally tried the one at HH as it was relatively not so noisy.
The hot tea was actually quite good so I will probably come back to try the guava tea.

Not just Mixian

This spot used to be some funky dessert shop where part of the decor is still there.
I am not a fan of Mixian but since they have other noodles to choose from I went in for the Herbal broth.
The herbal broth was quite strong loaded with pieces of donggwai but sadly the soup was too salty.I would have liked more beancurd sheets as shown on the picture but compared to other photos it was relatively good.
The fruit tea was huge but syrupy.

[Review 7257] Best PANDAN Latte @ Morokok

If it wasn't for an app press con, I wouldn't have known about Morokok which is a Moroccan themed restaurant serving Thai Food.
The items on the menu reminded me of Atum Champak.
Morokok is situated in Mong Kok  which is probably why there is an element of MK in the name combined with Morocco.
The building that it is in is quite interesting as this building used to be just offices and places where people go to redeem stuff.
Morokok has an advantage as they have an outdoor balcony and the whole floor for the restaurant.
Started with pandan latte which is the best Pandan Latte I have had, there was a little grassiness which I really I appreciated as it meant real pandan leaves were used which really makes a difference in taste.
The avocado milkshake was also good but a little thin and not thick enough in consistency.
For the dishes, the Tomyumkung was rather spicy and I didn't like the truffle as it was petrol like.
For the modern dishes, they were spot on in terms of taste and presentation.
Last but not least is a big congratulations to the recruited participants of TASTERNSHIP who get to eat for free and get HKD$1,000 for every review submitted with original photos or video footage (up to 15 reviews).
After months of eatigo Tasternship recruitment, the first batch of 18 top Tasterns have been successfully recruited. In response to the overwhelming applications, eatigo is now kicking off Tasternship Round 2 to encourage further food reviews submitted by the public and search for the next Tasterns!

Apple Custard Choux Puffs

Spotted the new cream puffs [Double  Fantasy Japanese Apple] by Chateraise which has cream, custard and apple inside so decided to try it.
They reminded me of apple turnovers as it had apple and cream but in a different pastry.
The cream puff was soft and pillowly but I thought the custard was too overwhelming as it was too sweet.
I wish it was just cream and apple inside just like the apple turnovers or just simply custard as the combination of the three was too sickly.

Scrambled egg with Beyond meat

Went here randomly and tried the scrambled egg with beyond meat.
Evidently this joint attracts a crowd as it is the least inexpensive amongst the crowd at TaiKwun.
I guess I didn't study the menu carefully as I thought it was just scramble.
It was just a filling bun with scrambled egg and beyond meat which needed tomato ketchup as it wasn't very tasty.
There was another sauce that they put in the burger which I asked without because it was a sweet sauce.
Basically expect your usual cha chaan teng fare to be served here!

Hand Shaken teas

The food scene is finally changing at Well On, there are more joints joining the food scene.Initially Lung Cha looked like another tea house serving the same stuff but they serve hand shaken teas which captivated me.

Ordered the taro tea with pearls, grass jelly and Sichuan style beanthread sheets.

The grass jelly was too sweet.

The beanthread sheets were too spicy so next time I am going to order the non spicy options.
The best thing was the taro tea because you can really taste the taro.
I could have done without the pearls as they get in the way and they were too soft.
To me a drink is a drink and I don't like chewing and drinking at the same time!
Fresh milk would have tasted better as you could taste it was powdered milk or the taro flavouring had creamer/emulsifier in it which makes it not so pleasant.

I was surprised to see that Das Gute cafe are serving the Godiva series so tried the hot chocolate for HKD38.
It is significantly cheaper compared to the hot chocolate at the GODIVA stores.
Obviously, the cup is small and when you take off the lid there isn't much inside.
The taste was quite nice but a bit too sweet.
Also had the Earl Grey Tea which quenched my thirst.
A nice joint that isn't too busy but the staff were not that nice.
