There are two branches of Oi Kwan and I am glad that both have kept the restaurant how it is.
Sadly for Si Sun Burgers, they had to move so all that living history has been lost.

The staff looked like they were wearing PJs but it could be funky uniform from the past which I haven't seen before.
They are famous for the huge fried chicken legs but they looked a bit burnt so I ordered something else.

I got the salted fish meat patty with rice.
The portion was huge, 2 big patties.

As expected the patties were delicious because it was moist in the middle and there was a crispy salty crust on the outside.
Overall pretty good but a tad salty.

Chung Kee used to be on the 9th floor but they have moved to the 1st floor which makes it more accessible hence the reason I bothered to go as you can take a flight of stairs up and down without waiting for the stupid escalators.

If a fire does break out you can also take the stairs provided they are not blocked like some other buildings.


Anyway, the setting here is slightly different and feels more like an inside daipaidong and I like the way they have a board to show what seafood is in stock.

For starters had the chicken wings in huadiao wine.
The wine was the key to everything, there was quite a bit of it in the bowl and putting the wine in everything made everything nicer especially the soup.

The seafood tofu pot was healthy but slightly oily which is inevitable because it is Hong Kong style.
The sizzling plate of beef with ginger was pretty good but a tad too salty.

Finished with oysters in Port Wine.
When they came, they looked promising but strangely I could smell tomato, the exact smell from those tomato prawns.
Tried this dish at other restaurants but this is the sweetest version I have had.
Apart from the sauce, the oysters were pretty good and big so if you do order this I recommend the ginger and spring onions for a more savoury touch.

When I searched this restaurant on OR, I discovered that I have already tried Chung Kee thrice at the Sai Wan Ho branch a few years ago but the dishes were different.

Previously tried the lunch here and it was so good that I have been meaning to go back for dinner.
There is a full menu for dinner and some of the items were quite interesting such as the lobster bisque which is paired with red prawn sashimi.
Technically it is a red prawn but not the Spanish ones or the price would be not be HK98.

The lobster bisque was rich and creamy but you have to wait for it to cool down or end up burning your mouth.
The prawn was nicely paired with dill.

Next was the slow cooked octopus which was topped on potatoes.
The octopus was full of flavour and tender.


Finished with the Salmone alla griglia which is served wrapped in grease paper.


You can choose to have the salmon pink or fully cooked.
The salmon was delicate and tender paired nicely with the creamy baby potatoes beneath it.
Finished with their signature gelato which is made in house.
Flavours vary all the time but the coconut was good and loaded with coconut.


Glad I went for dinner because it was nice and quiet as the office people have fled the scene.

3rd Space used to be on Po Hing Fong somewhere and the seating area was cramped.
The new location is much bigger and accessible.
Main Menu:
As I have already tried their pancakes at the old location, had something savoury this time.
The Japanese scrambled egg was simply silky and fluffy topped with a lovely glazed grilled eel on top of rice to go with it.
Friend had a sweet tooth so tried the matcha latte and sweet suggested by the lady.
The matcha latte wasn't too sweet with a good bitterness and a lovely foam cap.
In the sweets plate, there was a triangle shaped matcha scone which went well with the latte.
Glad to see other offering as well as pancakes.

Hogology is a famous joint for fried pork chop with their first branch at CWB.
Now they have a second branch on Wellington Road near the Sheungwan end with a 1960s touch to it with old movie posters etc.
There is English on the menu.
I ended up ticking for more noodles by mistake because I thought if you wanted noodles instead of rice that box had to be ticked.
As well as pork chop, they had other stuff to cater for people who don't feel like having pork chop.
Had the pork chop with thick noodles.
The pork chop was moist whilst the coating was crispy.
For the noodles, you can choose thin or thick.
I found that the sauce tasted different for the thin and thick noodles, the thin noodles tasted sweet while the thick noodles were more savoury.
For the other bowl, had thickly sliced luncheon ham and egg with thin noodles.
This was satisfying with curry sauce and spring onion sauce.
Will be back often as the location is much more accessible than CWB.
