It is all about being healthy and eating light these days.
Verde Mar has been whipping up healthy and vegetarian dishes every since the owner started yoga.
They now serve omnipork as well as other tasty vegetarian dishes.
I was there recently for the cactus, the only place you can get it in Hong Kong.
The cactus is low in fat and high in fibre.
It only needs a little lime juice and salt to bring out the flavours.
The texture is a little bit like green bell pepper with some sliminess like okra.

Next was the Mexican style prawn cocktail, where you put all the freshly chopped coriander, onions, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado etc in the glass.
You eat this with the crispy tortilla chips.

This is definitely a great dish for summer which is similar to gazpacho but Mexican style.
Next was the [omnipork Quesadilla]
Quesadillas are delicious and the omnipork and vegan cheese made it more satisfying especially the vegan cheese which had this awesome mochi texture which goes really well with their creamy guacamole.
For desserts, there is avocado icecream or avocado pancakes.
Both vegan friendly.
I had the Avocado Apple Pancake because it was really cute.
The pancakes are eggless, made with buttermilk so they were fluffy.
Each layer was filled with avocado mousse, fresh avocados and sliced apples.
The pancakes weren't too sweet as the chef has mixed a whole avocado in the mixture and reduced the amount of sugar and butter in the recipe.

Definitely healthy and worth recommending.

Funnily I discovered this joint through some Koreans and Japanese because this is their favourite Sichuan joint.
Located on Granville Road, the restaurant is on two floors.

Near the entrance, they have sauces and condiments for the hotpot so you can check out the Sichuan peppercorns!

During dinner you can choose main dishes from the menu or opt for the hotpot.
As I was craving for pickled vegetable and fish lately, had it here.

It was quite a big portion and it was loaded with fish, pickled vegetables and oyster mushrooms.

It was quite good but the fish was a bit bony and slightly fishy which I didn't expect.
Finished with the gastrodia fish soup which was comforting with a strong herb taste.

Previously this spot used to be an Italian Restaurant and is now a Chinese restaurant.
There is an upstairs too which is nice and quiet.
The menu at night is slightly heavier and they had combo dishes with fish.
The menu is in English and Chinese.
There were some really creative dishes like Ribs in Peach sauce, Strawberry sweet and sour pork and my favourite lemon chicken.

In the end I settled for the fish combo and oysters.
They had my favourite steamed fish which is similar to the flounder but slimmer in shape.
The fish was delicate and silky while the soy sauce was fantastic as it had a slightly sweet taste to it.

The dish that came with this combo was the beef with morning glory.
The star of the show was the oysters, they were big and juicy!!!
Each one was fully flavoured with a strong oyster taste to it.
Definitely one of the best I have had.
The oyster was as big as the bowl.
Definitely coming back as it is nice and quiet in the evenings.

Just another juice stand.
Large costs HKD24 and the juice I had was the bittermelon and celery.
The bittermelon was more prominent than the celery but all good.
It appears that most juice stands give you the Large size by default if you didn't request for the regular size so beaware.

There are two branches of Oi Kwan and I am glad that both have kept the restaurant how it is.
Sadly for Si Sun Burgers, they had to move so all that living history has been lost.

The staff looked like they were wearing PJs but it could be funky uniform from the past which I haven't seen before.
They are famous for the huge fried chicken legs but they looked a bit burnt so I ordered something else.

I got the salted fish meat patty with rice.
The portion was huge, 2 big patties.

As expected the patties were delicious because it was moist in the middle and there was a crispy salty crust on the outside.
Overall pretty good but a tad salty.

Chung Kee used to be on the 9th floor but they have moved to the 1st floor which makes it more accessible hence the reason I bothered to go as you can take a flight of stairs up and down without waiting for the stupid escalators.

If a fire does break out you can also take the stairs provided they are not blocked like some other buildings.

Anyway, the setting here is slightly different and feels more like an inside daipaidong and I like the way they have a board to show what seafood is in stock.

For starters had the chicken wings in huadiao wine.
The wine was the key to everything, there was quite a bit of it in the bowl and putting the wine in everything made everything nicer especially the soup.

The seafood tofu pot was healthy but slightly oily which is inevitable because it is Hong Kong style.
The sizzling plate of beef with ginger was pretty good but a tad too salty.

Finished with oysters in Port Wine.
When they came, they looked promising but strangely I could smell tomato, the exact smell from those tomato prawns.
Tried this dish at other restaurants but this is the sweetest version I have had.
Apart from the sauce, the oysters were pretty good and big so if you do order this I recommend the ginger and spring onions for a more savoury touch.

When I searched this restaurant on OR, I discovered that I have already tried Chung Kee thrice at the Sai Wan Ho branch a few years ago but the dishes were different.
