Spotted the White Peony tea cake at Maxims so decided to try it.
It looked quite nice with a layer of tea jelly, cream and cake.
Overall, the cake was soft and light and not too sweet.
I could taste red tea so it was definitely not White peony.
Anyway, I hope they will have other tea flavoured cakes soon like Earl Grey.

OBC Grill is run by Sodexo a major catering player in Hong Kong.
I was lured here because they had a good range of burgers and the Mexican black bean salad.

When I got there, the Mex salad was not served anymore so I was choosing between the chicken burger and the Quesadilla.
They also had the Beyond Burger for HKD48 which is the cheapest in Hong Kong.
Normally I would get the BB but I have tried it so many times at other restaurants.
Prices for the BB should decrease in the future due to demand and availability and possible competition from other new vegan burger brands.


Anyway, ended up getting the fried chicken burger which was disappointing as it was dry and woody.
It was dark brown so possibly refried.

The Quesadilla would have been a better choice.

Overall, a good place to relax and chat during the weekdays but in terms of food it was just local stuff.
There wasn't much food or drinks I fancied so got the strawberry smoothie which is just icy strawberry syrup slush topped with a whole strawberry sliced into slices.
I suppose the drink reminded me of Slush puppies which was a good thing.
A few months ago they had the blue white red cake which I sadly missed.

TenRen has been around in Hong Kong for a while, some shops sell Tea and Candy while other shops have softserve.At the TKO branch, they have cakes as well so I decided to try them.
I didn't ask if the cakes were made locally or imported but anyway tried the Tieguanyin cake for HKD35.

To my surprise, it was quite a good cake because the tea taste was strong and it wasn't too sweet.
There was a layer of tea flavoured mousse and cake in the middle coated with a tea flavoured coating which had a gelatin texture with elasticity.
Finished with tea without sugar which was a good pairing.

Discovered this joint a while ago but it was 18:00 so the coffee section was closed.
It is best to go during the week days when it is less busier.
There is also a GOOODS store inside but it seems a no go area as the staff are not welcoming.
I was intending to get a sweets Bento from Gooods but the staff there seemed disinterested when people asked questions about the place.
Twice I went and the service was like that so I only ended up getting a drink from Bad Ass Coffee.

Got the HKD37 AMAZAKE which is a fermented rice drink.
The one they served was non alcoholic.
The smell and taste was a bit strange so I wasn't sure if it was meant to be like that.

Discovered this joint when I was dining at the Japanese restaurant a few weeks ago.
The serve Japanese dishes and there is a drinks counter as well.

Nice hand writing.

For food, I had the grilled pork with Japanese egg over rice.
There were so many slices of pork there and the rice beneath it was delicious because there was a hint of yuzu so it was appetizing.

On the side, had the chips with mentaiko mayonnaise.
The mayonnaise was on the sweet side.

For drinks, the oolong tea with tofu and salted milk cap is a must.
It wasn't too sweet yet the tea was strong topped with a lovely thick frothy milk cap which was quite salty.
The salted milk cap really brings their drinks to the next level especially the matcha.
The chocolate banana smoothie was really sweet.
Will definitely get a drink again if I am in the area.

Visited this restaurant when they newly opened, they were not quite ready then so decided to revisit and see if there has been any improvements.
Ordered the boat noodles just like I did on the first visit.
Visually you can see how strong the broth is.

Although it was on the sweet side, the broth was much stronger and tastier than the first visit.
The thin rice vermicelli absorbed the broth nicely so it was tasty.
The pork balls were amazing so I would imagine the pork ball skewers would also taste good.
Finished with the Thai tea which I would definitely recommend as the tea and condensed milk are well balanced.
