Discovered this second branch of Fung's Dessert while dining at H opposite.
The main branch is just up the road near the MTR exit and my favourite item there is the congee.

Since it was new, decided to pay it a visit.

This joint is much smaller and the desserts are the same.
Tried the new baked sago dessert where you can choose chestnut, hazelnut, lotus seed  or chocolate.
Chose the hazelnut baked sago.
The hazelnut was quite disappointing because it was just a layer of hazelnut liquid in the middle and it was too sweet.
The sago was also too soft.
The other dessert I had was the beancurd, barley and gingko nuts sweet soup and it just tasted like cold soya milk with barley and gingko in it.

Again, just the usual Chinese dessert but it makes me wonder if the old place will be shut down soon or they are just expanding.

I buy muffins from here regularly and it is always good.
Went on a Sunday and that particular staff just has an attitude problem.
Muffins are normally wrapped in a piece of paper before they put them in the bag but this particular lady likes to throw them in the bag and snatches money when you hand over the cash.
Other than that these muffins were perfectly delicious and moist.
The ones I got were the cherry and they were crammed with quite a few pieces of cherry.
Perhaps I bought the ones she wanted at the end of the day so she was in a strop.

Went here because of the Pandan drinks series.
There was a choice of latte or latte frappe so I got the latte frappe because it was a hot day.
The lady clearly didn't like serving people and had an attitude problem.
Apart from that, the pandan latte frappe was a really good drink.
I should have skipped the cream because the cream they serve is synthetic plastic cream that is consistent with the stuff they put in their donuts.

At the bottom, there was delicious pandan jelly which was quite sweet and the pandan frappe had a decent prominent pandan flavour as well.
There was a slight hint of coffee which was perfect because the slight bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness worked well.

Strangely, they have discontinued this drink at the Popcorn branch.

It has been a while since I last had a drink at CCI.
Recently went because of the nutty drink which reminded me of NUTTEA in SPK.
Looking at the flyer, it is totally different to the one at NUTTEA but since SPK is too far, this drink will do for the time being.
According to the ingredients, there are walnuts, cashew nuts, and pumpkin seeds.

As well as new drinks, I was amazed to discover their soup series.

The nutty special was quite good, it was thick and there were lots of crushed nuts in the drink whilst you drank it.
It wasn't too sweet but I consider it as a nice dessert drink because Chinese walnut dessert soups can be a bit too sweet and heavy.
Will try the TARO soup next time.

North Point has changed a lot these few years.
Old buildings knocked down and a whole new street has popped up where the pier used to be.

There is now a stylish restaurant on the corner called happinesssssplus.
I like the way the restaurant is split into two sides, a vintage hair salon and an old cinema.
At first, I thought it was the usual menu with steak, chicken etc but the pastas were more exciting for me because they had some unsual items like Stir Fried Pasta with tinned Dace fish and black beans.
Lots of restaurants are using tinned dace fish with black beans as an ingredient, one restaurant did tinned dace with black beans pizza while this other restaurant did tinned dace and black beans Caesar salad.
Both were quite tasty.
As expected the dace black bean pasta tasted good because the oils from the tin is full of flavour which helps to flavor the pasta when it is stir fried and when you eat it the dace and black beans just act like anchovies giving it a unique Chinese twist.
Also had the Sichuan Bolognese which was another flavourful dish. It was spicy and stronger in taste compared to the fried dace pasta.
If you love Sichuan dishes then this pasta is recommended.
Also had the ravioli because I love ravioli.
It is slightly different in presentation because there are balsamic pearls which give a burst of tartness to the ravioli.
Finished with tea and blueberry yoghurt soda.
Overall, very satisfied with their pastas.

Fung Shing is a renowned restaurant for Shunde Cuisine, there are quite a few branches in Hong Kong.
Previously I have dined at all the Kowloon branches so decided to try the Hong Kong branches to see how they fare.
I liked the CWB branch because the restaurant is quite old so it has that old school atmosphere to it.
The menu is mostly the same so tried some items that I haven't tried before like the dried squid fried rice.
It was quite a moist fried rice with lots of dried squid in it but couldn't quite taste the dried squid unfortunately.
The minced dace patties with lotus were soft and springy with crisp pieces of lotus root.
For Shunde delights, had the scrambled milk which was silky and curd like paired with prawn toasts.
Roast meats here are quite good, they are lean and chunky.
The star of the show was the golden coin chicken which was evilicious with a piece of fat, liver and char siu.
Finished with the baked sago which was very orange in colour.
It was nice because it was just plain baked sago which was soft and sweet while some other versions contain taro puree.
Overall quite good but I still intend to try the Sheung Wan branch of Fung Shing to see how it compares.

Found out that there was a vegetarian buffet restaurant in KB so decided to give it a visit.

There are two sessions for dinner and different rates for week days and weekends.

There was a good spread of choices from Chinese to Western and there was a salad and dessert bar as well as beverages.
Food in general was really good especially the Chinese choices as they didn't serve any mock meats.
My favourite was the red beancurd snow fungus and the satay sauce radish.

The bittermelon soup was quite bitter while their drinks were rather sweet.
Overall, I managed a plate and I was full.
The staff were just as mystified as I was at the findings!
Fortunately, the thing on my plate passed away intact or it would be more worrying where the missing parts went.
Only people with attention to details would be able to see and spot what I am hinting at.
