Please note part of this review is fictional except details about the food.
I was at a round table meeting with the secret society about some plans of possible asteroid attacks.

While we were at this meeting, we had to order food and pretend to be normal civilians, however our meeting was nearly uncovered by some opposition agent dressed as a waiter who kept us in heavy surveillance.

After a while, two agents appeared and kept close watch on us.

Luckily our meeting details were discussed and ended successfully without being exposed!
During the secret meeting, they ordered beef ribs in black pepper gravy, steamed scallops and lobster with E-noodles.

The noodles were quite nice and the cheese sauce was not too heavy.
However the lobster was overcooked.

The concept of this was really good, but the beef was unbelievably gamey that no one would eat it.

The scallops were nice and tender and the green onions and garlic complimented it very well.

Took some government officials from UK who are also in the food business to this local bakery only because they wanted to try some local products.
Anyway, the shop was not pleased when they tried to pay with a $500 note, but if you were a tourist, you wouldn't have much change on you. I would have thought Sai Kung was tourist friendly and used to Tourists paying with large notes.

Apart from that, their items were slightly more expensive than other shops.
I finally got to try this famous pineapple bun that has been on debate with other reviewers and I am not going to step into this debate.
I just felt that it was too dry.

The sushi here is really good, they sell for $3 per sushi.
It is fresh and the choice is quite good.
The only complaint was the cashier, she just snatched the money and slammed the change on the table.

Usually I will post pictures of food, but the service so despicable that I can't be bothered.

The other branch at MaOnShan was not that irritating.

Anyway, I went to reception on behalf of someone who had booked the table, and the receptionists were busy ignoring me, so I patiently waited.
However the people behind just jumped the queue and spoke to the dragon ladies and somehow they responded so maybe this is the way in Hong Kong, there is no such thing as civilization in Kowloon.
To be precise this branch is in TKO which is not even in Kowloon but the New territories~!
But not most Chinese people are not civilized

To be served at this restaurant, you must jump the queue and force them to serve you just like in China.
Or wait til the queue dies down and try again which I did.

Anyway, this booking was booked a week ago for EIGHT people, so when we went to our table we were expecting 8 seats!
The whole purpose of booking was to ensure a table and seats of course!
Went to the table and there was ONLY five seats, so asked the waiters about the other three and they just grabbed some round stools to make up for it.
I thought it was a big insult to pre-book and not get what is expected!
What is their stupid booking service for.

Next on was the food, it wasn't bad, but some dishes were slow to arrive.

One of the dishes was a joke, it was spareribs in hawthorn sauce, there was only three pieces of meat and the rest of it was shallots.
It was about 70% vegetables and 30% meat and spareribs is considered as the main!???!!!

Originally I was not going to review this place, but I felt I should warn tourists or non chinese speaking people.

Food:
Ordered rice with roast meat, tasted nice and generous pieces.
It was surprising for sauces they used imported ones.

Anyway, just wanted to advise people who do not speak chinese not to ask the waiters to recommend food, because they will recommend the most expensive items such as Sharks fin etc.

There was a tourist who was eating by himself, and when he asked for the bill he was shocked the total was $120 ish!
So it just shows how greedy Chinese are, not just restaurants, even at the markets where they take advantage of anyone who doesnt look the part!

Food was good, but under constant surveillance by the staff.
From the picture you can see they have positioned themselves directly 90 degrees from our table.
Being a food host, I am used to eating in front of people, but not so for others.

Fish liver: I think this is not always available as it wasn’t on the menu last time, but went well with the vinegar sauce.

Baked rice with oysters: This was better than expected, the rice was softer than normal, but full of flavour with pieces of vegetable in it. The rice was topped with six oysters, all very creamy and moist despite being cooked by the oven.

The peach sushi rolls with Sakura shrimp was rather disappointing, the Sakura shrimp coating was more like shrimp crumbs, the ones I had previously, tiny shrimps could be seen coated on the rice.

Environment: There was a strong cigarette smell when we got up there.

I walked into this restaurant, and the waiter asked us if we wanted to sit in the smoking/non smoking area.

I told her that we were non smokers, and she looked at the non-smoking area which was empty, and advised us to sit in the smoking area.

I believe the waiters wanted to group people in one area, so it would be easier to serve and take orders.

As I was allocated to a smoking area, when the non smoking area were vacant, I felt that I should not spend my money here due to their convenience.

Hence I walked out of the restaurant.
