I go through sugar phases so when I get a sugar craving, it has to be Mrs Fields cookies or muffins.
Local Chocolates, cakes and desserts from Hong Kong simply won't do.
Got the Redcurrant and strawberry muffin which I don't think I have tried before.
The muffin was moist and soft, each mouthful was divine as it was sweet with pieces of redcurrant and strawberries.
I don't know what it is but the muffins are moreish and addictive that it satisfies my sweet and cake cravings.
Will definitely be getting more muffins soon as they make good breakfasts.

Glad Subway is popping up all over the place because TKT lacks a sandwich shop.Many years ago, there used to be HERO sandwich but that went.
Just had the bbq meatballs this time which were new and they were smoky and sweet.
The sauce was really strong and it is the same as the sauce you get for the sandwiches.
Also tried the branch at AsiaExpo but the prices are very different.

I was in the area so had to grab something quick and easy to eat so got the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf.The portion was big and inside there was sticky hot fragrant glutinous rice and chunks of silky chicken.They also have those cute dimsums that I tried at the Tin Hau branch.

This place is quite a trek if you don't live in the area.
In the afternoon, you can order the smaller bowls so you can try different noodles and combinations.
The soup is the same but you can choose chicken, pork etc.
Clearly I liked the green tea noodles and the rice vermicelli.
It was strange they had green tea noodles but I liked them because the green tea wasn't strong and the texture was like instant noodles.
The rice vermicelli was another favourite of mine because they were thin and absorb the soup well.
Also had the lemon chicken wings which were crispy and tasty.

I thought it was a joke when my friend told me there was a Tobasco burger at McDonalds.
Went to my nearest McDonalds and it was true, not only was there a burger but there was softserve with spicy fudge sauce and shake shake fries with spicy seasoning Tabasco sauce.
Tabasco series: Onion ring angus, Softserve with spicy fudge sauce and fries with spicy seasoning.
I decided to try the Fries with spicy seasoning.
It was very spicy as expected but I liked it because it was punchy and the spiciness wasn't long lasting.
The only let down was that the fries were overdone, hard and dry otherwise it would have tasted much nicer.

Walked past and saw some expats dining there so decided to go in and try it.The menu seemed ok because lunch was offered.
Started with the soup of the day which was quite pleasing because it reminded me of soups in the UK.

For mains, had the pork and mackerel.

I liked the way the gravy and pork were served separate. The pork was surprisingly good because I liked that charred taste as it was grilled on lava rocks according to the menu.

The fish was also a delight but had many fine bones so you have to be careful..

Both mains were paired with Japanese rice.

Finished with the Hojicha latte and I loved it because it wasn't too creamy or powdery.

The Eugenia chiffon cake was so foodogenic with cream drizzled on top.
It had a balanced eggy and matcha taste.

Ever since I saw photos of this special pizza I have always wanted to try it.

This restaurant used to be in a difficult location near elements so I couldn't be bothered to go but now they are in Tai Kok Tsui which makes it slightly easier and the fact that they are still around means the food can't be too bad.

So the first thing I ordered when I got there was the award winning pizza and a pasta.

The pasta was really good because you get to choose the sauce, ingredients and type of pasta.

When the pizza came, it didn't look like a pizza, it looked like sandwiched triangles with a Chinese style Mexican bun topping.

The staff said you can eat it in three ways: on its own, with salad and with vinegar.

The pizza was crispy and cheesy with a fragrant black truffle flavouring.

Then I tried it with salad which tones down the black truffle.


I didn't really like the vinegar because the vinegar was too sweet for my liking.

Then came the pasta which was also promising, I chose squid ink pasta with olive oil, mushrooms and onions.

A deliciously simple pasta that tasted great.

After trying the Beetroot mousse cake, I decided to come back for dinner.

Started with smoothie which was sweet and refreshing.

I liked the cutlery, they were small with non slip rubber grips which makes it really ergonomic and comfy for small hands to use.

I was recommended The Staff Devilled eggs which have a modern Chinese twist to it with finely chopped spinach, salted egg yolk and preserved egg.

It was really delicious because the filling does not taste heavy and it goes well with the silky egg white.
For the mains, I had the chicken which looked so human with those legs wide apart ready for a OB/GYN examination !!

I wish I took a picture in that angle !!

The chicken was crispy and tender but the sauce was a bit too creamy for my liking.
It came buttered rice with carrots.

For dessert I had the bread and butter pudding which was made with decent baguette pieces because the bread pieces were crispy and airy.


Last but not least was my favourite dessert, the golden fondant with icecream, also made with salted egg.I loved that thick custard filling with a salty twist to it.



I had the Beetroot mousse cake again because I love that silky whipped light cream texture with a strong beetroot taste that is not too sweet. There is freshly grated beetroot on top which enhances the beetroot flavour even more.

I didn't try the breakfast but I liked the quirky names!!There is a choice of All day, All month, All year and All life BREAKFAST!!!

I went here for because they had this beetroot mousse cake which is really rare and unique.
The texture was like silky whipped light cream with a strong beetroot taste that was not too sweet. This was the reason I liked it because you can actually taste the beetroot and there is freshly grated beetroot on top which enhances the beetroot flavour even more.
My tropical green tea was served in a cool metal teapot and it had a strong leafy taste.
I will be back soon for dinner.

At Soupreme, as well as nourishing mushroom based soups [except MACA which is a root that is said to be an aphrodisiac] their dishes are also delicious.

You order by ticking the boxes on the sheet.
The staff are pretty helpful if you get stuck and one of the guys speak FRENCH too!

For the mains, there are rice vermicelli, Taiwanese noodles or rice and I chose the Taiwanese noodles.

To be honest, it tastes so good just mixing the mushroom sauce with the noodles because there is a lovely salty beany taste to it.

I wish I could buy this sauce.
For the side dishes, I got stewed oxtail with mushrooms and the tofu puffs with walnut flowers.

The meat was fresh and it comes off the bones easily attached with delicious gelatinous cartilage.

I am not quite sure what walnut flower is so I googled it and it came up with flowers from wild walnuts in China.
The texture of the walnut flower was more like kelp. Although the whole dish doesn't look appetizing, it was sweet and delicious.

noodles with chicken:
The chicken was also soft and came off the bone easily and the noodles beneath it were delicious in that rich strong sauce that was used to braise the chicken.

To finish, I had the soups last not first because they were too hot to drink at the beginning and it fills me up if I drink it first.
I love the way, the soups are served in MUGS which give it a modern touch.

MACA:
Maca is a root and not a vegetable and this soup had a sweet taste.

cordecep flowers:
The taste of this one was nicer because it had a strong unami taste but the cordecep flowers are camouflaged with the carrots, but you can tell because they are not translucent like the carrots.

I can't wait to come here again however getting here is easy but getting out of Taikoktsui is troublesome.
