Yoghurt drinks in MK

Previously tried A Yoghurt Cow in Whampoa and found out that there is a bigger branch in MK so tried it when I was in the area.
MK has more to offer on the menu than Whampoa and you can drink it there as well.

Tried two drinks.

[melon smoothie with yoghurt cap]:
Unfortunately, it didn't taste as good as expected because it wasn't fresh melon so the artificial melon flavouring was weird.
The yoghurt cap on top was just the usual yoghurt which was good.
There were some seeds in it which I thought were kiwi but they said they were chia seeds.
+++
[avocado matcha]
This tasted much nicer especially the cream cap on top which was made with good cream.
Overall, the staff were really nice for MK standards and explained each drink properly before I ordered.
Will definitely be coming back but I shall stick to the yoghurt rice drinks.
Strangely, there is no English menu when they have branch in Sydney.

Korean Hot Dogs are in town so decided to check them out.

Tried Arirang Hot Dog first followed by Bat Boys.
Korean Hot Dogs basically look liked English battered sausages on a stick and American Corn Dogs.
They are slightly different in the sense that they are coated in sugar.

At Arirang Hot Dog, there were quite a few choices, various of coatings and some are filled with cheese.
Tried the potato, cheese and the Korean mochi.
At Arirang, they let you dip it in sugar and add sauce as you wish which I did not because its weird.
The potato dog was quite good but the potato cubes were a bit disappointing because they just used crinkle chips that were cut into cubes.
The other dog fared better as it had some cheese sauce inside.
Overall, glad I tried.
Again, there could be more popping up as they are easy to make and the cost of the ingredients are not that expensive.

Went here because Amplifier Restaurant serves the Beef Wellington.
Amplifier is conveniently located near the Yau ma tei end of MK right next to Mannings which makes it easy to locate.
The restaurant is quite spacious.
Ordered the beef wellington and a hot earl grey chocolate.
The hot earl grey chocolate was surprisingly good because the earl grey was prominent and the chocolate wasn't too sweet.

Next was the Beef Wellington which was served on a bed of spinach and a side of gravy.

It was nicely sliced and looked convincing.
I loved the pastry and in between there was a slice of delicious Parma ham which held the beef and pate together.

The best thing was that it didn't have any truffle because some fancy versions contain truffle.
Overall, it was delicious and the spinach beneath complimented the pastry nicely as there were onions in it.
As well as the succulent beef, I enjoyed their spinach with the pastry because it was like eating Spinach Puff pastry.

It would be only a matter of time before you find every Western inspired Chinese restaurant serving this when they find out how easy it is to prepare just like the pork knuckles and beef cheeks which is why the menu is practically the same at every restaurant but served with different sauces/vegetables etc.

I love avocado so got the avocado soy milk smoothie.
I bet the staff was happy when I ordered because it meant she could make herself one.
Anyway, the soy milk in the drink tasted really good and enhanced the avocado with the refreshing notes of soy bean.
It wasn't too sweet so it was thick and satisfying.

[Review 7537] Back for fake prawns @ 百味食品 Bai Wei Shi Pei

Back for fake prawns..
Bai Wai has been around for ages!
A few years ago I tried the vegetarian prawns which were obviously Konjac.
Recently I was in the area again so out of curiosity I decided to see if those fake prawns were still on the menu and they were so got some.
Ordered the fake prawns, mock shark fins and spinach noodles which came to HKD12.

I had them without any of the sauces because all their sauces are sweet.
Although it wasn't tasty I was surprised how oily it was because I got oily lips after eating it.
The fake prawns just tasted like chewy konjac and the spinach noodles had a bit of grassiness and that's it.

I have been a fan of share le pan since they started their first bakery branch in CWB.My favourite bun is the one filled with Taiwanese pearls but there is so much more to choose now as well as drinks.

I would have wanted to try the messy buns but they were simply too big!!!
Ended up getting my favourite tea bread filled with custard and pearls. This was bursting with tea custard and firm chewy pearls.

Heavenly Creamy:
I didn't find this creamy but it was thick cream cheese in the middle so it probably tastes better if you reheat it.

Mochi Mushroom:

Most mushrooms buns are savoury but this one was sweet which is why I tried it and I love chewy mochi in the middle.
I hope they will come up with other flavours other than sesame.

Potato bread:
Moving on the the savoury, this was filled with sweetcorn and ham which was quite basic.

Taiwan Russian Bread:
I tried this as the name was interesting, the taste was similar to a toasted brioche sliced open.

For drinks had the chocolate with cheese cap and  oolong with pearls.
Both were made to my liking as I had them sugar free.

Oolong with pearls:

King of Sheng Jian is  a well establish restaurant for Shanghai pan fried dumplings by Oscar Siu a former cantopop singer.
I have previously tried the Causeway Bay and Shamshuipo branches.

The latest debut Ging Sun Ho King of Bun in Mong Kok offers more with a young and modern vibe to it.
There is a digital menu at the front with English and Chinese.

Obviously I was captivated by the Roast Goose Xiao Long Baos which are made with roast goose and pork topped with a piece of crispy goose skin.
It also comes with plum sauce which I did not use as the Roast goose XLB tasted great on its own.
You could taste the spices from the roast goose.

There were some new dishes that will satisfy your craving for spices such as the Chicken feet and pig ears.
For the mains, I liked the omnipork dandan noodles which were just as satisfying as the pork version because of the strong beany sauce contrasted by the sweet peanut broth.
If you're missing your balls, they've certainly got balls here!!!
But anyway Shanghainese food wouldn't be complete without trying the pork belly with vegetable rice and their signature chicken steak and Pan fried buns!
Will definitely be coming back.
