My second time at Little sheep for hot pot, usually we opt for the Eat all you can.
Anyway today we opted for the set as shown on the menu, mostly meat, and the most expensive thing on the menu was the fish maw.
The prawn paste, was rather bland.
The soup base is always as good as it is, strong in herbs.
The greens were good, because it all depends on the soup base.
All in all, I prefer the other branches of Little sheep, especially the Tsuen Wan one, and Causeway bay one, as Mongkok is convenient, everyone goes there.
After we finished everything, they gave us a box of complimentary mooncakes.

[Review 411] buffy the bakery @ 波菲 (太子) Buffy's Bakery
波菲 (太子) Buffy's Bakery 12/09/2009
太子彌敦道750號始創中心地下
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/buffy-the-bakery-e2028653
The name of this bakery reminds me of buffy the vampire slayer, however the bakery there is fabulous.
I really like their simple packaging, they have used self adhesive plastic bags.
I have brought good buns from here before, but the shop looks different to the one in Tsuen Wan. Anyway today I got the pistachio souffle cake and the seaweed crunchies.
Pistachio Souffle cake:
It was so dreamily delicious, I need to get more next time, I was expecting some sweet old cake, but it was soft like chiffon, and the pistachio paste in the middle was smooth as truffle.
The pistachio paste was very nutty with a slight bitterness.
Seaweed crunchies:
Not as good as it should be, like all Asian bakeries, all the savouries items will taste sweet.
However its textures and shape is exactly the same as the british JACOB’s Twiglets, a wheat based crunchy.

太子花園街211A地下 Shop 211A, G/F, Fa Yuen Street, Prince Edward

When I hear the name four brother, I immediately associate it with the Chinese actor Tse Yin, anyway it probably has a different meaning to them.
I thought I might as well try this place even though I have tried most the places for snowflake ice.
The décor is quite colourful, colourful take out bags, straws and calpis bottles.
As the place was quite vibrant, I decided to order the passionfruit flavoured snowflake ice, with Aiyu jelly and caramel sauce. The Aiya jelly was much firmer than the ones at Sweet pak fu.
The passionfruit base did not have any artificial taste to it either.
They have also put up pictures of Marsha Yuen at the place too, the last time I saw her, she had dessert at berrygood in central.

[Review 409] Tasty fried prawns @ Your Restaurant 金源小館 (灣仔)

灣仔大皇街東3號大皇大廈地下

Last time I came, I had the Shandong chicken with Vinegar spare ribs, this time ordered the fried soy sauce prawns.
During the last visit, the table next to us ordered that dish, it smelt so nice sitting next to them, and also the people were saying out delicious it was.
Same with the vinegar spare ribs, you could smell it before it was brought out.
All their dishes are simple, yet delicious, and this is what I call real Chinese food, not the weirdo fusion from the cha chan teng's which is just any stuff cooked together and served as a dish, but dosnt taste nice at all.
The prawns, were fried and there were crispy bits of spring onion and garlic around it on a bed of finely chopped cabbage.
Even the cabbage tasted good, drenched from the saltiness of the prawns and soy sauce.
I really appreciated the fact that everything is edible excluding the plate and bones!!!
Anyway the prawn shell tasted really nice, especially the head, it tasted like burnt soy sauce, but not to the extent it was bitter.
I reckon the prawns were probably soaked in light soy sauce, then deep fried and tossed in garlic and spring onions.

[Review 408] Thai @ kwun tong 新興泰國小食 (觀塘)Thai Hing Thailand Snack Food

Shop 17C, 4/F Market, Sui Wo Street,, Kwun Tong
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/thai-kwun-tong-e2028076
Not a usual place I would go for food, but they do have lot of places serving seafood and little restaurants in the alleyways.
Came here for thai food, and ordered prawn sashimi with chili sauce, fried rice, green curry, roast pork neck and chicken feet.
Prawn sashimi: first time trying it, because of all those stories you hear from raw prawn poisoning, but then I have eaten raw prawn in terms of sushi. Anyway the prawns were nice and sweet and spiced up by the sauce.
Chicken feet: hot and sour, could have been softer.
Green curry: very green in colour compared with other Thai curries, but very spicy and strong in basil.
Roast pork neck and vegetables: the pork was just right and not too dry. For people who don’t mind eating fatty pork.
Fried rice: the portion was a bit small, but nicely done.

[Review 407] Oysters with weird stuff covering it @ Bafang Dumpling八方雲集鍋貼水餃專門店 (灣仔)

Previously I have visited their prince edward branch and tried their dumplings, so this time I came to try their taiwanese noodles with oyster and intestines.
honestly, this is my first worst experience with the Taiwanese noodles, also on the table, the usual condiments for this dish was not present either, ie the garlic puree, pickled chili.
the oysters were not the baby oysters, also I couldnt understand why their was opaque gel like stuff surrounding it, anyway I left it, didnt want to risk food poisoning.
I really wanted to ask the staff what it was, but I was too lazy, and past experience with all oysters, they never have that gel/flour surrounding it, unless it is fried.

[Review 406] Italian ginger grass jelly noodles @ Chung So 聰嫂私房甜品 (將軍澳)
10/09/2009 Chung So 聰嫂私房甜品
將軍澳貿業路8號新都城中心1期地下G28號舖
Shop 28, G/F, MCP I, 8 Mau Yip Road, Tseung Kwan O
Also dine-in, they only have spoons and plastic forks to use, and both are difficult to use as you can imagine the difficulty spooning the noodles.
Since that dessert is famous, I think it should be served with chopsticks to emphasize they are noodles.
Even "Sweet heart" serves their mango ho-fun with chopsticks to highlight the fact that the dessert is eaten as noodles.
Other than that, it tasted ok, the ginger was slightly too strong, or if served with chocolate sauce or ice-cream sounds good too.
