I assumed Thai food was only things like chicken rice, meat and rice, pad thai's stir fried flat noodles etc, but I was surprised to see they had pork knuckle rice, it is very similar to the chinese lo shui sauce.
The pork knuckles even had tofu puffs in it!!
The pork knuckles was stewed nicely, an option for those who cant eat food that is too spicy and not Thai food fans.
All their lunches come with a drink for $30.

I eat here almost every week, and yet I havent given it a review
Anyway I go for their lunch sets at $40, and there are so many curries to choose from,
usually I will eat the vegetarian one, usually ordered by native Indians who are vegetarians.
The vegetarian one is also quite good, but I need to add soy sauce to it, especially the spinach and peas one, although the presentation of mashed spinach isn't that pleasing but it does taste good.
I had curry chicken today, and it always tastes consistently good, especially the long grain soft rice. There is lots of chicken in it too.

Apart from dine in, they also have the usual vegetarian snacks to take-out, and even sushi too.
I found one of the staff to be particularly pushy, I had only looked at the sushi, and she already started packing it in a box for me.
I was going to get some anyway, but I didnt like the way she tried to sell it all to me, as there was only a few pieces left, I have tried vegetarian sushi before at Lai Chi Kok (not listed on Openrice yet, but that restaurant is quite good, especially their lunch).
I got the minced tuna, and tuna sushi.
Both looked like the real thing, the tuna sushi does actually tastes like the real thing, slightly opaque, and not too chewy.
The minced tuna was a bit bland.
*No photos, as the woman was too pushy!!* perhaps if I took a photo of that woman would be more helpful

Came here just to try their fried snacks, ordered the curry burato, fried curry rice ball, which is similar to the Italian version, except the Italian version is not that crunchy on the outside.
Surprisingly the curry rice ball was quite nice, and the cheese in the centre went well with the curry rice.
The next snack was fried edamame beans and potato croquette, it tasted rather plain and boring and need sauces to spice it up.

[Review 466] 04/10/2009 Massive scallops!! @ A Style International Ltd. 優質堂國際有限公司 (葵涌)

While shopping at Diamond hill, they had a food fair, so walked by and saw A Style had a stall there.
They had their usual range of frozen seafood ready to eat once thawed, including their big spider like crabs and shellfish.
For their cooked snacks they had ready to eat big scallops for $20, a choice of buttered or Teriyaki.
I got the Teriyaki, and the scallops were quite big, the orange part was the best, usually they taste rubbery, but this one tasted velvety just like pate and fish roe.
In terms of scallop anatomy, the orange part is the ovary-testis according to the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department .

Selected a good time to visit this place, didnt have to queue up.
I liked the way the desserts were served, they came in separate dishes on the plate.
Ordered the pancakes with ice-cream and cherries, coconut jelly with cherries, and fried hazelnut with cheese.
Pancakes with ice-cream and cherries: basically it was layered pancakes with cream in between it, the pancakes tasted how it should, the cherries may have been soaked with alcohol, as there was a slight taste of it.
Coconut jelly with cherries: the coconut milk was slightly sickly and sweet, i would of liked the dessert plainly with the coconut jelly and cherries. Maybe I will request without the coconut milk next time. Also the the name on the menu says white peach, I couldn't taste much of it, but it tastes good like that without the white peach.
Fried cheese with hazelnuts: I really liked the neatly wrapped pocket with Mascarpone and hazelnut, the oil used was still fresh, and the pastry was slightly crunchy and chewy, and when you pierce a hole in the pastry, the air will come out and the pocket deflates!! The pastry was a bit like thick fried filo pastry.
At first i couldn't taste the hazelnut, but then i could tastes bits of it, also they were fresh hazelnuts pieces, i could taste the membrane lining of the hazelnut.
I also wanted to try the blueberry coconut jelly offered to VIP's, hmm how do i become a VIP???tongue
Anyway next time I want to try the coconut sorbet which i was told wasn't sour, but are not sorbets meant to be sour?? I also want to try the baked chocolate with cherry filling, and the baked filo with banana and chestnut!!
The revolution continues, until my next visit!! This world is also a small place, coincidentally a patron that sat on the table next to me was on the same MTR as me on the journey to Mong Kok.
Improvements: a little pest control needed, so many insects flying about and dead insects on the seat.

I wonder if this is the last mooncake of the year, but like I said i do not eat the lotus paste one!
I only tried this because it is from Shangri La, same as all the other Lotus ones, the lotus paste is very dense, after swallowing a high percentage of it, still had the paste stuck to my upper palate!
To me, it just tastes like any ordinary lotus mooncake, however the lotus paste was overly dry!
