Finally went on a day when the daily soup was fish maw and sweetcorn and not the beef one.
This time tried the stir-fried prawns and cucumber, overall, this dish was very light, well suited for the eldery apart from the prawns.
Anyway, the cucumber could have been cut to smaller pieces, it was too big and kept slipping when using chopsticks to pick them up.
The prawns were ok.
The soup which I was long awaiting for didnt taste as good as the beef one.
It tasted strong of sesame oil.

This time I decided to get their macaroni in broth to be on the light side, but the broth and the macaroni was so salty it hurts your throat when you swallow it.
Apart from that, the ingredients in the macaroni seemed healthy, a mix of yellow courgettes, peas and tomato.
The macaroni was al-dente, but just the soup was too salty.

Previously tried their pastas, it's Ok, but not as good as Bubble Green.
This time tried their cheese and ham sandwich, however the contents were stingy.
The amount of ham and cheese was so meagre, only the centre had filling.
The quality of the ham wasn’t that good, there was lots of chewy bits in it.

[Review 1135] Puddings and sweets galore @ Milk Top

Previously tried their ice-creams, but now they have puddings and sweets.
There are so many pudding flavours which include:
Strawberry, Cheese, Milk, Chocolate, Red Tea, Blueberry, Maple, Caramel and more.
I tried the Red Tea pudding and got a box of three caramel sweets that cost $28 or $48 for 6.
The pudding was smooth and silky, and tasted like tea in pudding form.
The caramel was packed with dry ice to take away.
The dry ice kept it cold all the way through and it was fun too because it gives off white smoke like the stage effects.
The caramel sweets tasted like thick custard and was very creamy.

[Review 1134] Gigantic soufflé in a vintage restaurant @ 太平館餐廳 Tai Ping Koon Restaurant

I would never have discovered this place if I hadn’t read Open Rice, the Chinese dishes were not the dishes that attracted me, but it was the massive soufflé!
The Chinese dishes were not the dishes I were after but it was the massive soufflé!
The restaurant is very mysterious from the outside, it reminds me of those places where people go and play mah jong, hidden from the outside world by white veils.
The reservation/waiting list is also old style too, especially the texture of the paper they use, and all the names are hand written and crossed off.
The last restaurant I went to that was similar to this one was St Louis Steak House, the waitors all wore vintage clothing with bow-ties.
Same with this one, the waiters are in their mid fifties plus which reminds of Gingko in Central.
The reservation/waiting list is also old style too, especially the texture of the paper they use, and all the names are hand written and crossed off.
Due to the privacy this restaurant offers, it explains why there are so many celebrities and politicians dining there.
When I was dining there, I saw Fung So Boh (actress) and some politician (duno her name).
Apart from the Soufflé the other dishes were boring such as Swiss style fried flat noodles and baked rices obviously Hongkie style.
I suppose the only one dish I would try would be the fried flat noodles and beef.
As I came here for especially for the Soufflé , that was what I ordered.
However, the waiter said in a displeasing tone that it would take 35 minutes.
I am not sure if he didn’t like the idea of me occupying the seat for at least half an hour or whether he got the impression customers complain after waiting too long but if you offer something on the menu then people are going to order it.
When the souffle came, it smelt so nice, it smells really eggy and reminds me of the smell of Malaysian steamed cake (maa lie go).
It was collosial when it arrived, imagine a souffle in a glass casserole dish.
The inside of the Souffle was pale yellow, inside it was so light and fluffy.
Every time I ate it, I had to sniff it because it smelt so nice.
It is so rare to have something that smells, looks and tastes good!!
It was piping with steam because it came fresh from the oven.
Anyway don’t forget to smell it because it smell really nice!!
Tea was included so I ordered tea for the sake that it was included because I don't drink Hongkie style teas.
When it came, it visually looked good that I almost thought it was Hongkie tea!
The tea looked really silky without residue or condensed milk residue on the side of the cup.
The smell confirmed to me it was HK style tea.
Although I didn’t like it, I still tried a sip, the taste did not irritate me as much as the usual HK tea’s do, but it was a pleasant one.
There was no bitterness and after drinking half of the tea, the tea was so silky it didn’t leave any marks like the usual HK tea does.

I have been bored of FROYO lately, so I only get it if the FROYO tastes really good such as ROLL or the TOPPINGS are really special.
The Loganberries toppings at Yoshi Yoghurt seems good at Tuen Muen:
http://static4.openrice.com.hk/UserPhoto/photo/2/243/00F18AC238E430CB5E3B30m.jpg (photo from Yan's Review).
This shop was opened last year, but it didnt really make me go in until I found out about the Blackforest.
The Black Forest Cake Froyo is Yogurt topped with black cherries, jelly, chocolate cake, berry sauce and chocolate pieces.
The appearance didn’t look as nice as the one featured in
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2169542 review.
It would have been nice if it looked just like that yogurt in the review above, it just looks visually nice with yoghurt at the bottom and toppings on the top.
It reminds me of the yoghurt served at Smile.
Overall I found the sweetness of the yoghurt too sweet and couldn’t taste the tartness others mentioned, although I didn’t like the yoghurt I loved the toppings.
As it was a hot day, the froyo melted pretty quickly as shown on the photo, and the chocolate cake tasted really nice when it soaked up the liquid yoghurt.
If you have had chocolate sponge with custard, its taste and texture is the same as when the sponge soaks up the custard.
However the taste is even more interesting because, the chocolate cake is sweeter than the Froyo so I could finally taste the tartness in the froyo.
If it has not been for the chocolate cake, the sweetness of the froyo over powered the tartness taste in it and it would have been sickly sweet.
The other toppings were nice too especially the jelly and cherries.
I couldn’t find any berry sauce shown on the previous reviews for the Blackforest yoghurt.

[Review 1132] A Slice of pizza in Sai Kung @ Paisano's Pizzeria

After trying Slices decided to give Paisano's a try.
Slices review:
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2169456
Paisano's has opened in Sai Kung for a quite a while before Slice's but I didnt try it.
Anyway, since I tried Slices, I decided to try Paisano's as a comparision, but for authentic Italian pizza, I was recommended Pomodoro in Sai Kung by Bibini's Italian owner.
I got the Paisano slice which has olives, pepperoni, cheese and herbs.
The pizza base was slightly crispy and doughy. Not as chewy as Slices but the taste was like the Pizza's from Pizzahut.
The spinach ravioli was bland and needed salt and pepper.
