Thank you IVYCWK for getting me this delicious tin assortment that comes in a pretty blue tin by Tivolina.
Inside the tin, there are two milk rolls, two green apple balls, two rose balls, two coconut chocolates and 2 white chocolate flowers.
All of them tasted delicious.
My favourite was the green apple balls.
I thought it was solid apple chocolate but there was biscuit inside which was a perfect match and the biscuit balances out the chocolate so that it is not too sweet.
There was a hint of tangyness in the taste which was interesting.
The coconut chocolate was also nice too, it was mainly dessicated coconut infused in chocolate.

[Review 2416] Corned beef and aubergine delights @ Quezon Pinoy Food Express

Came here again for my favourite Flipino food.
Basically you choose two items with rice.
This time I chose corned beef and aubergines in shrimp paste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Corned beef:
I have tried this before many times because it tastes delicious but I never knew what it was.
The texture of the meat is slightly different and I finally found out that it was corned beef.
It is different to the British corned beef in terms of texture and it had peas and sweetcorn which was delicious.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Eggplant in shrimp paste:
Delicious soft eggplants in shrimp paste.
The shrimps in the sauce were really tiny!
It was delicious but slightly too salty.

[Review 2415] Indonesian exclusive dishes on the weekends @

G/F., 76D Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, Shau Kei Wan
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/indonesian-exclusive-dishes-on-the-weekends-e2291774
Came back on the weekend to try more Indonesian dishes because some dishes are only served on the weekends.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mixed satay and rice:
This was basically three skewers served with satay sauce and rice.
The skewers consist of one chicken, pork and beef.
I felt that the satay sauce was quite spicy and there was a strong lemongrass taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Nasi kunung (served on weekend):
I really liked this because it contained a bit of everything.
It had Perkedel which is an Indonesian potato croquette, it was my favourite.
There was a piece of beef shin, chicken wing, shredded omelette and peanuts.
The rice they serve here is fluffy and they used the thin long grain rice similar to the ones served in Indian cuisines.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Nasi Rendang:
The lemon grass taste was really strong and the meat was basically from the skewer because you can see the holes in the meat from the skewer stick.

[Review 2414] Delicious food that is still delicious @ 新蕃薯苗小館 Tiny Green Kitchen

新蕃薯苗小館 Tiny Green Kitchen
北角北角道17號地下
G/F, 12 North Point Road, North Point
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/delicious-food-that-is-still-delicious-e2291771
This place has not been reviewed for a while and i did not know about this place until an accidental discovery because one of the places I wanted to go was closed.
There are two Shanghai joints on this road and I chose this one because the name had nothing to do with Shanghai cuisine.
I also chose this place because they did grilled lamb skewers and the menu was more extensive.
Tiny Green Kitchen has been opened for more than ten years but its decor seems newer than the other Shanghai joint a few doors a way.
Came here twice, once for tea and for dinner.
For tea it was impressive because they were advising people to choose the tea set because it was cheaper and comes with a side dish, you could feel that customer service was a priority and not profit first.
The staff were patient and friendly too.
The menu was impressive because it had English, Japanese and photographs of the dishes.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Potato leaves with fermented beancurd sauce:
It was great that this dish was actually available because a lot of places have items that do not exist or they are not available due to lack of popularity. It is good how they made a not so common item popular here.
I really liked the texture of the potato leaves, they were similar to spinach but it had less of a metallic taste.
The fermented bean curd sauce was really delicious.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Potato leaves and pork dumplings:
These were delicious and the size of these dumplings were small.
There was an equal proportion of pork and potato leaves.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chilled bittermelon:
The bittermelon could have been softer and sliced into smaller pieces.
The taste was quite bitter with a strong sesame oil and garlic taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken wings in wine:
The chicken wings did not absorb the wine so well, so the wine taste was not strong, but if you tried the wine on its own the wine was actually good quality.
Adding the remaining wine to the noodles made it taste better.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Shanghai style dan dan noodles:
The noodles were delicious, the broth was rich and thick.
It tasted better than other noodles because the noodles they used were thin and flat which adhered a lot of broth to it.
The broth had a slightly tangy taste which made them moreish and not sickly because of the heavy peanut sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spicy chicken:
Tried this as well and it just tasted like shredded soya chicken and it was not that fresh.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Stir fried flat noodles:
The noodles tasted nice but I prefer the other type because these were chewy, but luckily they were soft enough.

Glad another cake shop has opened in WanChai.
The location is easier to get to because the Central branch is uphill.
Kisses Cupcake is located on the corner of QRE.
There is a cute mustache mat at the entrance which I forgot to take a picture, but when you step in the shop you will see it.
They have their all their current cup cakes listed on the wall.
The cakes are nicely displayed behind the glass cabinet.
There is a bar table and stools so that you can eat your cake there.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
s'mores cupcake:
Tried the marshmallow cupcake which had melted marshmallow on top of the cake.
In the middle of the cupcake there was some chocolate fondant.
The marshmallow was nice and gooey just like fluffs marshmallow spread.

I never thought I would be here again but came here with foodies because they wanted to try the fries with cheese.
Since my last visit, there are new items on the menu.
Massive logo!~
Quite a stack of cutlery.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
New items:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Toast with cheese:
I thought this was going to be cheese in the middle of toast but it was cheese in the middle of bread dipped in egg and pan-fried.
It was weird they gave you syrup too!
I tried it without the syrup and it tasted quite nice, just like a croque monsieur without ham and coated with egg oozing with melted cheese in the middle and buttered on top.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fries with cheese:
The chips were dry and the cheese was rubbery and tasteless just like melted and hardened mozzarella.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fries with cheese on an earlier visit at tai hang tasted better

Tangy and spicy wasabi sakana supreme 2013
Initially I was not going to try the wasabi sakana burger because I have already tried it last year.
The wasabi sakana burger contains horseradish, mustard seeds, garlic and chili.
The difference this year is that the fish filet is bigger and the sauce claims to be TANGY!
Sauce could be seen leaking out from the box!
Basically it had lettuce and sauce on the first layer but no cheese could be seen yet.
On the bottom layer there was still no cheese!
LUCKILY I WAS DINING THERE SO I COULD ASK IF THERE WAS MEANT TO BE CHEESE THERE AS SHOWN ON THE PRODUCT PICTURE, so they just added two HALF slices of cheese for me on the same burger instead of giving me a fresh one so my burger was lovely and cold after queuing up to tell them there was no friggin cheese!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Wasabi sakana burger:
The lettuce in the burger really ruins it.
While I was ordering there were at least two people who requested it without and if it does taste nice, the original would have lettuce in it too.
The sauce was disappointing it was not tangy at all.
If they added some tartar sauce, it may have improved the tangyness and flavour.
The burger was cold because I had to ask for the cheese.
