My friend got me this snack and they turned out really convenient to eat.
You basically put the pouch in boiling water and it is ready to serve.
I was really hungry one night so had this, the pork trotters and egg were surprisingly filling as a snack because the sweet vinegar made them moreish.
The ginger was a bit old though.

I rarely go to shops that serve Yunnan rice noodles because I just don’t like them.
Went here for the appetizers, which are reasonably priced.
Water is provided if you ask for it.
I had the tomato and chilled black fungus, which were both really good because I love the mix of sweet vinegar and Sichuan spices.

It was really difficult eating with chopsticks because sliced tomatoes are really hard to pick up and the sauce kept splashing everywhere.

The sauce for the appetizers are a fusion of Italian and Sichuan, hence it is called Ita-Chuen style which is quite funny!!
I had chicken as well but they were a bit salty.

I love Cherries so got the new cherry dessert cups.
According to the label, the cherries come from Australia.
They use fresh cherries so they still have stones in the cherry, which they don’t warn you about especially children.
Although it tasted good, it was not worth $20 because it was just two layers of chocolate sponge, two layers of cheap cream, chocolate curls, preserved cherries in the middle and two fresh cherries on top.

This was not on my eat list in HH but when I saw they had pork trotters in galangal ginger sauce on the menu, I had to try it because not many places do this.
When it came, the pork trotters did not look appetizing because of the colour but there was a really fragrant galangal ginger smell.
The gravy was thick and viscous which was delicious with the rice and the skin and meat came off the pork trotters easily with a delicious galangal ginger taste to it.

I was quite surprised 3 potatoes was recommended in the Michelin guide because HongKongers don’t really eat potatoes.
Anyway, I was keen on trying it because I love baked potatoes and there are not many places that do decent potatoes in HK.
I never really made an effort to try this joint because you have to eat it on the streets or find a spot to eat it which is difficult in polluted Mong Kok.
What makes it worse is there is a bin close bellowing out second hand smoke.

Finally tried it because they had a pop store at Metro City.
I tried the baked potato with sour cream and bacon and I wanted to try the twice baked potato which is not what the name suggests because the potato is filled with mash on top which is why it is called twice baked potato.
Anyway, the potato was quite disappointing because it was hard and not fluffy and silky like it should be.
The sour cream and onions were nice but it would be nicer if it had real cheese but no complaints on that because I would rather have a potato with a lovely soft and fluffy texture.

The cone was fun to eat because they made it look like an icecream, there were other flavours as well such as bacon and cheese but they topped it with marshmallows and sprinkles which is super weird.

Made an effort and went to Prince Edward to have the Chinese potato rosti which is evidently Chinese style because the texture was exactly shredded potatoes (TudouSi) 土豆絲 topped with sour cream.
Not impressive because it was nothing like a rosti but the gorgeous sour cream brought back memories of Ireland's potatoes which packed up in the end!

[Review 4930] Oriental mushy peas @ 一碗小麵 Yvonne's noodle

I was attracted to this place because of the noodles topped with peas.
There are two different versions according to instagram and openrice.
Openrice has pictures of mushy peas while IG shows whole peas.
There was a set that day so I went for the meat one because I wanted to try the chicken appetizer otherwise the vegetarian would have been fine because I didn’t really want the minced pork that came with the noodles.
Hopefully one day they will offer omnipork as an option to replace the minced pork.
The first plate of spicy chicken was raw and had quite a lot of blood on the bones so changed it with them.
The noodles were good as expected but quite salty and spicy but the spiciness level was acceptable.
On this visit, I was given mushy peas which tasted exactly like minted peas!! Nice!
There is some tea on the table which is explained on the menu.
It doesn't have much taste but the stuff at the bottom of the jar looks like pet food!

After having a nice purple potato puff in cwb, I got another one from the Kornhill branch.
This branch is just rubbish.

The choux puffs here are smaller and filled with less filling.
You can visually see the difference in size and filling.
The choux puff was hard and dry at this branch.
