Normally when I am early for dinner I go to cafes and have a drink but it is hard getting a seat because everyone is having a drink.
I tried out Tivo because I was on Wynham street, drinks were only $55 and they had mocktails as well.
The drinks include a canapes buffet which is quite good.
I really liked the olives because they were big and juicy.

The lychee blossom that I had was refreshing with a strong lychee taste.

I like FOVEA because they have decent dance lights for clubbing.

Here was what we had:

Jellyfish:

Big chunks of jellyfish seasoned with fragrant spring onion and sesame oil.

Spicy beef tendon terrine:
The spicy flavour was nice but the texture was too chewy for me.

Chinese pork terrine:
張果佬肴肉
Not sure what the English is for this type of pork but it tasted like salted pigs knuckles.
Again, the jelly is quite chewy.

Soup of the day (beans and fish 赤小豆粉葛堡鲮魚):

A very concentrated soup which I found it quite sweet with a salty aftertaste.

Smoked egg with caviar:

This was quite nice because the egg had a strong wine taste with a creamy thick runny egg yolk.

Tofu:

A nice vegetarian dish with tofu, yellow fungas and hard tofu.

Prawns in strawberry sauce:

I don't normally like strawberry sauce but the sauce here tastes natrual and not cloyingly sweet like artificial strawberry syrup.
The prawns were fresh and springy.

Typhoon shelter style crab claws:

I was surprised this was really nice because the batter was light infused with spices but you could still taste the sweetness of the crab.

I was so glad I came here for lunch because I have never had Latin food before and there is live Latin beats which make it fun to dine there.

I liked their wooden cutlery.

Anyway, I had the lunch set which basically lets you sample most of the things on the menu.

Chimmichurri quinoa salad:

I love Chimmichurri anything because it is so refreshing and Chimmichurri quinoa was really appetizing and the shrimp they put in it was fresh and springy.

Sancocho:
For soup, they had Sancocho which is South American Stew.
It was the vegetarian version so I really liked it, it was light yet flavourful with lots of vegetables in it.+++++
Empanadas:
These are fried dumplings served with sauce.
I have tried similar versions before at a Philipino joint and a Jamaican joint.
Anyway, these were filled with beef and tasted great with the sauce provided which is a bit like Chimmichurri.

On the side, there was Yuca which is a root vegetable that tastes like Taro.

These were Corn flour based pockets filled with chicken that look similar to roujiamas.
They were light and filling

A few weeks ago I tried to get some eclairs but the sales were really pushy and annoying.
The craze has died off a bit and the people at the till were not the pushy ones so I got an eclair.

I chose the No. 20 Rouge Baiser because I liked the glistening fondant.
It was filled with dark chocolate cream with raspberry puree which was quite nice but a bit too rich and sickly for me.

Walked past and saw some new items so had a look.
The cream roll looked good but $148 is a bit expensive for just cream.
The cream puffs were only $25 for 4, available in four flavours packaged in a nice box.

The four flavours are:
-chocolate
-custard
-caramel and almonds
-mixed berries

I got the the caramel and almonds.

They were too soft to handle which made it difficult taking it out of the box.
Anyway, they were extremely delicious and not too sweet with quite a bit of filling inside that is waiting to burst out.
